Interview with Ruby Parihar
Date: April 15, 2010, Hyderabad
Ruby Parihar

Ruby Parihar is the new girl on the block. She is making her debut with Prasthanam movie. Deva Katta who introduced exotic girl Parvati Melton with Vennela is introducing Ruby Parihar with Prasthanam. Prasthanam is all set to release on 16 April worldwide. Here are the excerpts of our exclusive interview with Ruby -

Background:
I am born and brought up in Delhi. My father works with B.S.F (Border security force), Mom is housewife and I have two brothers. I am very close to my father though he is posted in Jammu most of the time. I am also close with my younger brother Sahil.

I was fascinated to design and creative ideas since my childhood. So I decided to take Fashion designing as my profession. I completed my Fashion Design course From N.I.F.T Delhi. Acting was never in my mind, in fact till i signed Prasthanam, I haven’t seen hit films Like Sholay, Bazigaar, etc. But destiny has something else waiting for me.

I have no idea about south films, some time I used to see some dubbing films which been telecast in Sony tv. But I have no idea about any actor over here. The only actor I know from south India is Rajnikant. After getting into south films my bro pokes me by calling Madrasi :-) and it always reminds me about OM-SHANTI-OM scene Yanna Rascala.

Glitters casting agency owned by Mr. Deepak Baldev works with an agency in delhi. They had visited our N.I.F.T Campus for general auditions for films, they spotted me in canteen and approached me. The immediate reaction of mine was A.C.T.I.N.G, I am sorry - not interested.

Somehow they got hold of my number and convinced me saying to do an auditon. It took me 1 week to get mentally prepared and then I agreed for an audition. They shot my audtion and started promoting in south. Before signing for Prasthnam, I was auditioned by a top production house and I was rejected for it (Deva Katta knows that reasons now :-) )

Finally it was Deva Katta who signed me after our 1st meeting. It was the big day in my life. I have no experience in commercials, modelling etc.. But Deva believed in me and made me part of this wonderful team. He also got me trained in acting and dances well in advance and supported me throughout the movie. I will be always thankful to Deva, my producers Ravi ji and Vasu garu.

The 1st day of my shoot was memorable. There is a scene in jeep where myself, Sarwanand and kids were travelling. For lighting purpose they have kept Generator at back of us and all the windows were closed. Within seconds I went un-conscious and when I opened my eyes I saw myself under scanner. Deva, Sharwanand and everyone was in worried expression. I fainted due to suffocation. From then onwards, the shoot went on well.

Deva Katta:
Working in my 1st film with a director like Deva was really a wonderful experience. He always supported me a lot. He is very much clear about his vision to all his team. I realised about his focus and clarity only after I started shooting for my second movie. He always cracks jokes on sets to make sure that everyone comfortable. My DOP Sam Ji is also a wonderful guy.I feel proud that I worked with Deva Katta.

Sharwanand:
I saw photos and videos of Sharwanand before the start of shoot. He is a wonderful actor. He always explains me about responsibility and professionalism of actors. He supported me a lot and he delivered an award winning performance in Prasthanam.

Favorites:
Aamir Khan is an actor who inspires me. He always do meaningful films. But I didn’t like his blockbuster Ghajini. Kareena Kapoor is my favourite actress and I keep repeatedly watch Jab We Met whenever I get some free time.

My character in Prasthanam:
I am doing the role of Latha in Prasthanam film. Latha is a medical student with cosmopolitan outlook. It requires Telugu looks and native body language like wearing half-sarees and expressing in typical Telugu style. I danced in four songs of the film and my favourite one is Neerendallo.

Other projects:
I am also doing a Kannada film titled Yaksha with Yogesh as hero. Nana Patekar is doing a vital role in the film. I haven’t signed another Telugu film yet. I am sure that Telugu movie lovers and film industry accept me as Telugu heroine after watching Prasthanam. And thanks to Jeevi and I am waiting for his rating about Prasthanam and his remarks about my performance. I always follow idlebrain.com
