Telugu Association of Jacksonville (TAJA) celebrated a fun-filled Musical concert and comedy show at Jacksonville, FL on September 23rd, 2006. The event was sponsored by Prudential Financial and presided over by Sri. Sreedhar Nunna (President of TAJA). Sri. Raghu anchored the colorful program.

The evening began with entries for TAJA IDOL. Sri. Govind of TAJA came up with this idea of identifying unique talent in the Telugu community at Jacksonville. Various enthusiasts exhibited their talent at singing, dancing and music. Two girls named Swetha (who danced for Pokiri song) and Leena (who played piano) were selected as TAJA idols. The winners and participants recieved medals from Singer Usha.

Usha rendered her hit songs in the concert accompanied by a live orchestra. She enthralled the audience with her various hit numbers like "Toonega toonega", "Ne tolisaariga" in addition to various other old and new hit numbers. Her rendition of the latest chart-buster "Dole dole" was received amidst thunderous applause and dances by the audience. Sri. Viswa Mohan accompanied her as the male singer for the concert.

The second part of the program was the comedy show by Siva Reddy. His "all-heroes-dance" was one of the major hightlights of the evening. He also imitated various political and movie stars in his program.

Although the program went beyond scheduled time, it was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience who sat glued to the seats for all the 4 hours. Special thanks to Sri. Suresh Vella for the photographs.
