Response to Open Letter to Krishna Vamsi

Hi Hasan,

was reading the open letter you posted on idlebrain, and though I did not watch the film yet, had a few comments to make regarding the way you were questioning the story essaying capabilities and worldly knowledge of KV.

Regarding Pakistan and the people out there, maybe you are right ( though I strongly believe otherwise) everyone there is a very good natured person. Going by your quote "Desham ante matti kaadhu desham ante manushulu". So whom do you blame for Pakistan's actions, it's matti or its manushulu. Who creates the leadership ( that you say is the real problem ) of the country, it's matti or it's manushulu. And finally what is the definition of the Government of a country, it is the people of the country, the representatives elected by the people of the country and having said all of the above why should we not blame the people? In their 50 odd years of freedom, how long did they have a government and what are the people doing about it? How about changing the constitution of the country, to give certain people more power, and what are the people doing about it?

A person who kills 3000 odd people to make a certain point, irrespective of the what the point is, is a god-damn terrorist ( for lack of a worse word). Why should we not label USA as a terrorist, countless number of reasons that I do not have the time or patience to go over. Watch any TV station and you will realize what I am trying to say. Look at the freedom given to mankind in America and compare it with the freedom that people in countries that support Bin Laden are savoring. Do you know that Americans are not directly involved to any of the harassment ( if at all any), it is Israel ( though I know that America supports the Israelis) and I do not have a problem with that since look at all the suicide bombings that the Palestines carry out on civilians.

You said in the latter part of your letter that every frame should be a real one. What is real? Define real? Do you really know what is real or do you think that something you believe in is real? There is no such thing as real, real is whatever you believe in and maybe the rest of the world does not agree with you. When a director makes a film, he portrays it in a way based on his beliefs and perception of the problem, how many people think along the same lines as that of the director will make it either a realistic or unrealistic movie. As I said, I have not seen the movie yet and so cannot comment on the actual content. But after reading the article, you were biting your own dust since you did not do enough research before you wrote this article, you just wrote what you felt like and there is nothing wrong with that except that there is shitload of stuff I do not agree with and hence my comments.

Hey, to make you feel better, I do agree with some of your comments on Gujarat. Also, reading a particular paper or watching a particular TV station does not make whatever they say to be true/real. Some of these organizations act as fronts to other fundamentalist organizations. I can name a few papers/tv stations, and if you read/watch them, you would wonder how could they write/say such things.

cheers

Hasan
