Synopsis:
An aspiring writer meets a beautiful waitress in Paris. They hit it off immediately and fall in love. They lead a passionate and sexually fulfilling life and at one point the writer realises that their relationship is heading south. That is when he proposes that they should bid adieu to each other. But by now she has emotionally bonded with him and refuses to leave. The rest of the story is all about what happens when he dumps her. The entire story is narrated in flashback mode where the writer tells the tale to a cruiser’s co-passenger who tries to flirts with his girlfriend.

What is special about the film?
The most enchanting aspect about the film is the realistic portrayal of love. Roman Polanski shows emotions in an honest way. The sex scenes in this film are pretty wild. Roman Polanski captures the true essence of the meaning of love in Bitter moon. However the latter part of the film is a little boring.

Good moments:
The following scenes are pretty good.

1. The introduction of the heroine when she travels in a bus in the flashback.
2. The heroine imitating the guy’s action in the restaurant.

Tailpiece:
Love has its own ways. This film depicts how love blossoms and also how it destroys two people. You can see that they are on the same plane in the beginning of relationship and then start living on different planes once their relationship starts to crack. The dialogue about lovers quitting the relationship when it is at its peak makes sense.
