Synopsis:
Sean Mercer (John Wayne) leads a group that traps wild animals in South Africa and then sells them to zoos and circus companies. Dallas (Elsa Martinelli) – a photographer sent by a zoo – joins the group. A sharpshooter from the group gets injured while trapping a rhino. The rest of the story is all about the funny events occur during the time and how they come over the rhino jinx at last..

What I liked in this film?
Hatari! is full of fun and wild life. This movie shows us the trapping procedure of various wild animals like Giraffe, Zebra, Rhino, Bull and many more. Though the main theme of the film is about the danger involved in trapping the wild animals, there are a couple of subplots dealing with romance.

The scenes I liked:

1. The two scenes that project the attitude of the French guy (chips). The scene in the hospital where he asks the guy to beg him for forgiveness. The second scene in which 'chips' beat the guy up after passing the sharp-shooting test.

2. A cheetah coming into the bathroom when heroine was taking bath.

3. The monkey capturing episode by 'pockets'.

4. The kissing episode between john and 'dallas'.

5. The milking episode for the baby elephant.

Tailpiece:
Hatari means "danger" in Swahili (a South African language). 'Baby Elephant Walk' music has become famous after the movie release. This music comes when the heroine takes the baby elephants for a walk. Hatari is an entertaining film with loads of fun and gives nice exposure to the South African landscapes and wild life.
