Story

Sanju (Sundeep Kishan) is a naughty youngster who keeps teasing people around (especially his father (Naresh)). He has the habit of hiding in cupboard (Beeruva) whenever he gets an opportunity to run away from others. Swathi (Surabhi) is the daughter of a bigshot Aadi Kesavulu (Mukesh Rushi). When Sanju’s father is cheated, he approaches Aadi Kesavulu for the recovery of his money. During that process, Sanju stays in Aadi Kesavulu house. Rest of the story is all about the money mystery and a love story between the lead pair.

Artists Performance

Actors: Sundeep Kishan is pretty good as a mischievous youngster. He exudes lot of confidence and gives energetic performance. But he should be more flexible/natural/organic in certain scenes. Surabhi is okay. It’s Shakalaka Shankar who steals the show in this movie as a cook. He gets a meaty character in this movie after Geetanjali and entertains (without imitating RGV this time). Saptagiri is nice as a guy who presumes that heroine loves him. Ajay plays an interesting role and does justice. Naresh has performed naturally with nice timing as a victimised father (Chandra Mohan used to do these kinds of roles).

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: The movie appears like a crime thriller when it starts. But, it’s basically a love story. Hero uses cupboard in a few key scenes. Director Kanmani has succeeded in set up the plot point, but didn’t sustain the interest as the story proceeds. However, there are some nice entertainment episodes. Hero staying in villain’s house (while visiting for a settlement favor) appears too filmy.

Other departments: Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is an asset. Visuals are vibrant. Background music by SS Thaman is nice. Though there are only 3 songs, they appear unnecessary. Dialogues written by Veligonda Srinivas are partly good. Set for the first song is interesting. Editing is fine. Production quality by Usha Kiron Movies and Anandi Arts is good.


Analysis: First half of the film is decent. Second half should have been gripping. Plus points of the film are cinematography and entertainment scenes (scenes involving Shakalaka Shankar). Films like these should run of tight screenplay. It was the good screenplay that made Venkadri Express work big time, But, Beeruva didn’t boast of a good screenplay. We have to wait and see how family audiences embrace the movie.
