Gudipoodi Srihari Review

tell a friend

Those who are drawn to the theater, attracted by the name of Uday Kiran feel greatly disappointed, as his presence on the screen is only limited to few reels. He plays Gowtam who come to Hyderabad to join a computer institute. And the film opens with an irrelevant song number featuring him and a group, supposed to be students. Gowtam and his friend Bablu move into a house owned by one Ramana, as paying guests. Gowtam meets Anju (Venya) and teams up with her at the computer institute to do the programme. And their pair is called 'Jodi No.1'. While Gowtam falls in love with Anju, she remains indifferent. Meanwhile, Gowtam finds out that Anju's pen friend Pinky is planning to visit her. His well-wisher and landlord Ramana asks him to grab this opportunity. Thus Gowtam arrives in a female garb impersonating as Pinky. With a heavy hair-do, and garish make up Uday Kiran looks repulsive in this get-up. Worse is the scene when his secret is out!!

An angry Anju sulks for a while but gives in finally.

The cast is full of newcomers and performances are terribly amateurish. Uday Kiran is the only known name and saving grace. The dances and songs bear no relevance at all to the drama. Music composer Vandemataram uses folk tunes mostly for his work. Thematically and technically too, it is a disappointing film.
