This film quite simply does not deserve any certificate (an
'A' was given by the Censors).
It touches the lowest standards in the adult drama genre.
A remake of a Tamil hit, this Telugu version is a crude presentation
by Pulla Rao, who makes a directorial debut.
This film is loaded with college-going teenagers, who resort
to cheap gags.
The film opens with a young man in Military uniform sporting
a well-groomed moustache arriving at the college and reminiscing
about his college days. The flashback shows him as a mischievous
youngster Mahesh (Naresh) in the college and his friend Pooja
(Shireen) who share a similar childhood life where their respective
fathers are shown to be an evil influence on their children.
A group of youngsters who share such background get together
and leave their homes, led by a vagabond (Sudhakar), who sells
pornographic books. And the parents think 'good riddance'!
They land in a forest and live in huts before the problems
start. First a police SI who threatens to arrests them but
ultimately fleeces them off their money, and a rowdy called
GV who tries to sell off Pooja to men in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Mahesh and Pooja succumb to their desires in the
'heat' of the moment and are in deep trouble.
That is when the principal (Prakashraj) of the college enters
the scene and invites the parents of all students and gives
them a long lecture on values.
Naresh and all the other college boys and girls get childish
cheap roles. Even Naresh the only star attraction in the cast
turns out to be a dud. Shireen, a debutante is a total misfit
in the cast.
Experienced character artistes suffer because of illogical
and unsympathetic roles. Music and photography make no sense
in this kind of drama.
