A master at tacking issues with a touch of sentiment and melodrama, Muthyala Subbaiah, keeping in view the change in audience perception today, has added a liberal dose of comedy in Sri Chakra Art Creations' "Idem Voorandi Babu". Produced by A.B. Jaganmohan Rao, the film is a remake of the Malayalam hit, "Narendran Maga Jayakanthan Vaga". With Akash, Prathyusha and Archana in the lead, the climax was recently shot at an aluminium factory in Madapur.

Three songs are yet to be filmed, of which one was supposed to be picturised on Akash and Prathyusha. But this had to be scrapped after the sudden death of Prathyusha under tragic and gruesome circumstances, according to the producer.

Talking about the actress, he says, "She was a spontaneous actress, always eager to learn, and had a bright career ahead. A sportive person, she took things lightly, and was sincere and obedient to the core. She has done a wonderful job in the role of a village sarpanch who helps the hero in his pursuit. We miss a sensitive performer on screen and a smiling face off the screen".

"Archana plays the second heroine who also comes to the help of the hero and lends glamour through her performance. We have taken the essence of the original version and developed the theme to suit to our nativity. The hero, who hails from the city, goes to the village his father had left about two decades ago, never to return. They own a two-acre land, which is acquired by the Government for the expansion of an airport, and he goes to the village to claim compensation for the same. His travails in getting the compensation result in a comedy of errors, some due to the power hassles between tow opposing politicians. Here, Brahmanandam and M.S. Narayana add pep to the proceedings with their humor. The hero's father, who is projected in flashback scenes, has a major role to play. And I would like this to be under wraps to keep the charm intact," smiles Subbiah.

"Finally, the villagers relent when they realize that the hero is a native of the village and not a stranger," adds the director.

The producer, expressing total satisfaction over the project taking shape, says, "The love story is part of a larger theme that tackles a contemporary social issue faced b the common man. The hero meets the two heroines in the village, setting the mood for the story, with melodious songs. We will be filming the rest of the songs in March, and plan to release the movie in April".

Kota Srinivasa Rao plays the role of Archana's father with Babu Mohan as his assistant. Suthi Velu, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, 'Kallu' Chidambaram, Gautam Raju, Manorama, Sudha Jahnvai and 'Pavala' Shyamala are also in the cast.

Story is by Srinivas, dialogue by Posani Krishna Murali, music by Koti, camera by Chakravarthy, art by K.V. Ramana, editing by Gautham Raju, and the co-director is Raja Sekhar. The presenter of the film is Naga Sriram.
