Chiranjeevi clarifies
There were rumors that Chiranjeevi did not utilize his vote because his name did not appear in the voting list. Chiranjeevi clarified that his name was missing at the polling booth he went first, but he found his name in another polling booth and exercised his vote over there. However, he complained that his parents and his daughter's name are missing in the voters list and they could not vote.

NTR campaigned
NTR campaigned on 24th April, which happened to be the last day of campaigning for the 2nd phase of parliament and assembly elections in AP. He started his schedule in Gudiwada constituency at 7 am in the morning and campaigned vigorously till the dawn for his brother-like person Kodali Nani who is contesting on TDP ticket from Gudiwada.

Vijayashanti refuses to campaign for TDP
Vijayashanti recently refused to campaign for TDP. She is an active member in BJP. She was requested to campaign for TDP in certain constituencies as TDP is having alliance with BJP in AP.

Gangareddy - grandfather of actress Keerthi Reddy - is contesting from Dichpally assembly constituency of Nizamabad district on TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) ticket. Keerthi Reddy has aggressively campaigned for her grandfather by wearing rose color saree. Rose color is the party color of TRS.

Injury has no effect on Venu
Venu was injured when he visited Khammam to campaign for his brother-in-law (husband of his sister) Nama Nageswara Rao. He was asked to take bed rest for at least a couple of weeks. But Venu did not bother about his safety as he felt that win for his brother-in-law is more crucial. He campaigned with his injury on.

Nagababu campaigns for TDP rebel
Producer and actor Nagababu recently campaigned for Nalla Surya Chandra Rao - a rebel TDP candidate who is contesting as independent for Amalapuram assembly constituency. Nagababu campaigned for Nalla Surya Chandra Rao because he is a personal friend.

Actors name missing in voters list
Names of few cinema celebrities were found missing in the voters list. These celebrities are in for a rude shock, when they went to exercise their vote along with their identity card. The celebrities who could not exercise their vote though they have identity cards in Hyderabad are Raja Sekhar, Jeevitha, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Muthyala Subbaiah and Chandra Mohan. There were rumors that a big Telugu film star also had the same problem, but media is hiding that incident.

Hero Venkatesh and Heroine Laya would be holding a road show to support Dr. D Rama Naidu who is contesting from Bapatla Parliamentary constituency. Their road show starts on 19th April 2004. They would travel in Cheerala, Bapatla, Chinnaganjam, Purchur and Vetapalem.

Actress Namitha is going to campaign for this election from tomorrow. She would be campaigning for Ganta Srinivas Rao who is standing for Telugu Desam Party in Chodavaram assembly constituency in Visakhapatnam. Ghanta Srinivasa Rao is an ex-MP of Anakapally. Actress Namitha said that she is doing it as a personal favor to Ghanta Srinivas as he is a very good friend of Namitha and her beau Steven Kapoor.

Laya & Katrina Kaif for D. Rama Naidu?
Laya regards Dr. Rama Naidu as her God Father in Telugu film industry. She is campaigning for him in Bapatla parliamentary constituency. Katrina Kaif is in Vizag currently. She came here to inaugurate a clothing shop. She has also personally met Dr. Rama Naidu yesterday. The speculations are rife that she would be campaigning for Dr. Rama Naidu in the days to come.

Aswini Dutt promises a Venice

Nagma joined Congress party today evening at 8:30 pm at Gandhi Bhavan, Hyderabad. She would start campaigning for Congress in AP from tomorrow onwards. She would start her campaigning from Nizamabad.

Ravali in TDP
Ravili - heroine of Pelli Sandadi - has recently shifted to Hyderabad. She arranged a press meet and announced her arrival. But, she could not get any movie offers. She recently joined Telugu Desam Party. She is currently campaigning for TDP.

Dasari keeps a low profile
Veteran film director Dasari Narayana Rao is keeping a low profile for this election. It is rumored that he might be fielded in elections from Narsapur Parliamentary constituency. But the ticket is given to the regular candidate C Harirama Jogaiah. Dasari also expressed his concern about social injustice done for allocating candidates by Congress. He is currently campaigning in Anakapally.

Film actress Roja and film producer Kodali Nani secured TDP tickets for Nagiri and Gudiwada assembly segments respectively. Film actress Roja has taken decision to leave her acting career and plunge into active politics through Telugu Desam Party. The glamour aspect of TDP has shifted from Jayaprada to Roja now. It is learnt that Kodali Nani was given ticket for Gudiwada assembly due to pressure of mass star NTR. NV Prasad - producer of Vasantham - secured TDP assembly ticket from Tirupati constituency.

Maganti Babu secures congress ticket
Maganti Babu - son of Maganti Ravindranath Chowdary - who recently produced 'Pranam' with Allari Naresh and Sada in the lead pair is given a ticket from Congress for Denduluru assembly segment. Harirama Jogaiah - a old time producer who produced films like Chilakamma Cheppindi in the past - is given Congress ticket for narsapur Parliament segment.

Chiru clarifies it to fans
Vemuri Chanti - Chairman and Founder member of Chiranjeevi's Seva Samiti, Krishna District - issued a public advertisement in newspapers today by asking Chiranjeevi to come out with his stance on political support. He urged that Chiranjeevi should be neutral and should not be associated with any party. Responding to this, Chiranjeevi clarified on a TV channel that he does not support any party. In the past, he supported the candidature of Magunta Subbirami Reddy (Ongole) and T Subbirami Reddy (Vizag) on personal basis as these two people of very close to him. Likewise, Chiranjeevi is supporting C Aswini Dutt only on personal basis for Vijayawada parliamentary constituency.

Vanisri joins Congress (I)
Veteran actress and yesteryear's heroine Vani Sri joined Congress (I) party on 1st April. Speaking to the press, Vani Sri said that she has got name, fame and money through Telugu cinemas. She joined Congress to serve the people of India. She also clarified that she does not want a ticket for any constituency. She would be contended in canvassing for Congress (I) for this election period.

Telugu Desam Party has 2 sitting MLAs (Babu Mohan & Chengala Venkat Rao) and 1 sitting MP (Dr. Rama Naidu) from film circle. C Aswini Dutt bagged the Telugu Desam Party's ticket for Vijayawada parliament constituency. It may be known to the visitors of idlebrain.com, C Aswini Dutt has broken the news of his wish to enter politics through idlebrain.com first time in an interview. Ace producer Aswini Dutt has recently produced a song for Telugu Desam Party. The lyrics of this 'Nuvve Nuvve' song are penned by Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry. Mani Sharma provided music. Sabhapati - a noted Tamil director - directed this song. Bhupati canned this song that is shot for 14 days in various locations like Vizag, Vijayawada, Araku, Rajahmundry, Hyderabad and near by places. Kola Bhaskar edited this song. Six types of trailers have been made based on this song to advertise it in various types of media. These trailers are being sent to cinema theaters for exhibition during interval period.

Popular movie producer C Aswini Dutt painted his house at Vijayawada with yellow color to prove his loyalty and sympathy for Telugu Desam Party. C Aswini Dutt is vying for TDP ticket for Vijayawada constituency. Chandra Babu Naidu who succeeded in wooing majority of politically oriented film celebrities is likely to field C Aswini Dutt from Vijayawada area.

Sai Kumar joins BJP
Popular dubbing artist and hero Sai Kumar joined BJP in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister of India LK Advani. Sai Kumar joined the list of Telugu cinema celebrities Krishnam Raju, Vijaya Shanti, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Siva Krishna, Suman and Sarath Babu. We have to wait and see how Sai Kumar excites the crowds with his dialogue power in the campaign of forthcoming elections. It is also learnt that popular heroine Soundarya is going to campaign for NDA government for this elections.

D Rama Naidu expresses confidence
Dr. D Rama Naidu said that he has served the Bapatla constituency for the past five years said that he had an impeccable track record as a politician with his services to the people of his constituency. Sarath Babu joins BJP
Sarath Babu has joined Bharatiya Janata Party today in the presence of UV Krishnam Raju. On his speech, Sarath Babu criticized the nationality issue of Sonia Gandhi. UV Krishnam Raju preached that every body should work towards the goals of party instead of looking for personal benefits. Actor Suman joined BJP a couple of weeks back.

Vijaya Santhi's issue
The rumors are rife that Vijaya Shanti might contest from Warangal constituency for Assembly. She is expected to use the Telangana card to promote her candidature. The professors of Kakatiya University declared today that Vijaya Santhi does not have her roots in Telangana and she belongs to Tadepallygudem. Even before he became an actor Prabhas was actively involved in politics with campaigning for his peddananna UV Krishnam Raju in last parliament elections. When asked if he was interested in campaigning again, Prabhas replied that he would be campaigning for his peddannana again to vote for BJP. When asked if he would enter into direct politics, he said that he is not interested. On a jovial count, he requested people not to vote for him even if he contests.

Dharmavarapu in congress?
Dharmavarapu Subramanyam is holding a series of meetings with Dr. YS Raja Sekhar Reddy. He is very much interested in joining Congress and contest for the next coming assembly election. His native place is near Addanki in Prakasam district.

Cinema color at Vijayabheri
Politics and cinema does go hand in hand - at least during the time of elections. And TDP has always been the first one to attract the cream of film industry. During TDP's hugely successful demonstration of strength with 'Vijayabheri' function on 22nd Feb 2003, various film-related personalities made their presence felt. The three people who made it the most were Roja, AVS and Murali Mohan as they donned the roles of anchors. The prominent film personalities who graced the occasion include K Raghavendra Rao, C Aswini Dutt, D Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, Vijaya Nirmala, Allu Ramalingaiah, YVS Chowdary, Sarada, Jaya Prada, Kaikala Satyanarayana, SV Krishna Reddy, Achi Reddy, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, B Gopal, Mallikharjuna Rao, Kavitha and Venu Madhav.

Aswini Dutt provides 2 cranes
C Aswini Dutt arranged two cranes to shoot the 'Vijaya Bheri' event on huge canvass. The TDP media wing is preparing visuals for a song which would be broadcasted during the campaign time for the forthcoming elections. There were rumors that the same footage would be used for a movie to be produced by C Aswini Dutt. However, Aswini Dutt has clarified that the purpose is use them as visuals for a TDP campaign song.

Suresh about his political ambition
When asked by the cinema press a few days back about his active participation in TDP, D Suresh Babu justified it by saying that it is not new for him and he had been serving TDP in election campaign since the past two elections. But his participation is more this time because his father (D Rama Naidu) is an actively involved in politics as parliamentarian from Cheerala. When asked if he were interested to contest for forth coming assembly elections, he replied it with a firm 'no', but retracted by saying that ' at least not at this moment'
