WHICH
MOVIE STRIKES "GOLD" by

After
the hot summer temparatures, many movies tried to offer a cool
breeze to the telugu audience with their different themes of
entertainment. The industry, distributors, cast and crew of
the movies along with the nepotist fans of the respective heroes
are waiting with sky-high expectations for three movies. If
you said Arjun, Gudumba Shankar and Shankardada
MBBS, then you guessed it right. Let us analyze the strength
of each movie.
Arjun
The
Prince of Tollywood is all set to rock Tollywood on August 18th.
The prince even denied celebrations on his actual birthday (Aug
9th) and assured his fans that he would celebrate only on the
release day of Arjun. That is the confidence of the hero on
the movie.Gutsy producer Ghattamaneni Ramesh babu (Puli Bidda
Pule) spent 4 crores only for the "Madurai Meenakshi
temple" set alone for this 20 crore movie. The set
designed by thota tharani forms the main attraction of the movie.
Shriya as heroine, Keerthi Reddy as the hero's sister, Prakash
Raj and Saritha form the cast of the movie. With Manisharma's
music moving up the top ten day by day, the expectations of
the movie keep increasing proportionately. Parachuri Brothers
head the dialogues department, Shekhar V. Joseph handles the
camera while the story, screenplay and direction are done by
Gunashekhar. Will the combination of Parchuri Brothers -- Mahesh
Babu -- Gunashekhar rock tollywood with a new blockbluster?
Is the temple set worth spending 4 crores? Can Mahesh pass the
acid-test of Arjun after the lukewarm success of Nijam and Nani?
If so, what will be the range? If you have all these questions
then you wouldn't have to wait long for the answers.

Powerstar
Pawan Kalyan is popularly called as Power Kalyan by industry-wallahs
and his fans. The reason as many telugu film lovers know is
because of the number of big hits he has to his credit. After
the resounding success of Kushi, powerstar tried direction with
Johnny, an area which none of the top rated heroes in the present
generation tried till that point(2002-2003). However, his absence
in the industry for two long years coupled with a weak storyline
and the weakest dialogues resulted in the biggest upset for
him in his career. Not amongst those who let failure get the
better of them, pawan took his own sweet time and is knocking
the doors of tollywood in the form of "Gudumba Shankar".
The story as per unconfirmed reports is about a cop from the
old city of Hyderabad who handles the goons in thier very own
manner. The movie has some good food tapping music provided
by Manisharma. 'Killi Killi' written by Masterji, 'Chitti nadume'
by Sirivennela and 'Emantaro' by Chandrabose being the highlights.
Meera Jasmine is acting in her first straight telugu movie while
Satyanand comes up with dialogues for the movie. The movie is
directed by Veera shankar and is supposed to be a power packed
comedy. Pawan's fans think that the emergence of some youth
and middle aged heroes is only because of his absence in the
industry while his critics try to write him off saying that
he is no longer a force to reckon with. With out-of-form dialogue
writer Satyanand providing dialogues and an almost unknown director
Veera Shankar holding the microphone, the success of this movie
largely depends on how pawan's character is shaped up and how
his acting prowess is shown on the screen. Can pawan silence
his critics?Can pawan pull thru a blockbluster? If so, what
will be it's range. If you are hearing these questions amongst
your friends then you do not have to wait for a long time to
judge the result yourself.
Shankar
Dada MBBS
After
the graphical bonanza in the form of Anji, Megastar Chiranjeevi
is coming in front of us in the form of Shankardada MBBS, a
story of a comic gangster who tries to study MBBS and how he
faces and solves issues in the world in his special manner.
Though neither the audio is released nor there is no official
release date announced, this movie has become the talk of the
town, thanks to the unconfirmed exciting insider news regarding
this movie.
A
remake of Munnabhai MBBS, this movie is directed by Jayant C.Paranji
who earlier directed "Baavagaru Bagunnara" with chiru.
Paruchuri Brothers provide dialogues while Devisri prasad provides
the music for this movie. Sonali Bendre teams up with chiru
after Indra while Paresh Rawal dons the soft villain role. Girish
Karnad acts as Chiru's father while Srikanth pairs up with chiru
for the first time playing the role of ATM ( Any Time Murder).
Did
Devisri provide good music to this movie? Can Jayant spring
another block bluster with the megastar? History tells us that
whenever Paruchuri brothers and Chiranjeevi teamed up in recent
years the movie became a super-hit. Can they deliver another
hit? If you want answers to these questions, then you may have
to wait a bit longer than the above two films.
It
is my personal perception that all these movies are gonna be
hit movies. The range/longevity however might depend on the
success of the other movies. What remains to be seen is which
movie strikes Gold, which one bags silver and which one has
to settle for bronze (olympics kada, anduke ee terminology :-)
