Shyam Prasad Reddy held press meet today evening at Sabdalaya studios to explain the reasons of delay and announce the fresh release date of Arundhati.

Digital to negative conversion problem
We had been working very hard on the postproduction activity for the past two months. We got the Digital Intermediate (color grading) done to Arundhati film. That process requires the negative to be transferred into digital format. After the DI is done, the digital format will be converted into negative again. We entrusted this crucial job with EFX Labs (Prasad Labs group). The machines crashed during the process and they could not deliver the product in time. The final 300 feet of the film, which involves climax and pre-climax was not done. We had to shift the work to Prime Focus (Mumbai) at the last minute. The work is still going on. The prints will be ready by early hours of 16 January.

120 prints release
We are releasing Arundhati with 120 prints in over 165 theaters. The theaters in Hyderabad city will be screening Arundhati as per the schedule. We are also ensuring that all A centers will get the print by the morning show time. We will be sending Vizag and Tirupati prints by 6 am flight. The prints for Vijayawada and other centers will be sent by road. The prints for B and C centers will reach the theaters by matinee time.

Missed out a golden opportunity
We missed out a huge opportunity to cash the Sankranthi openings due to a mistake of somebody else. Arundhati generated very good expectations and craze among the movie goers. It is very unfortunate to miss out the crucial collections on 14 and 15 January.
