Prince
Mahesh Babu's ATHADU
is technically well made movie in recent times. Though there
are few hiccups in the screenplay and story, the movie has got
terrific visuals and Mahesh is at best in this movie. Mahesh
Babu mesmerized the audience with his scintillating performance
and most of the scenes hero does not utter single word and in
few scenes he has very limited powerful dialogues. Trivikram
Sreenivas has done a wonderful work as a dialogue writer and
all most all scenes have terrific dialogues. One should have
guts to narrate a story in an unorthodox way and probably this
is the first movie I saw where hero has very few dialogues.
I
tried my level best to recapture all the scenes, please oblige
me if I missed some. Here are the few scenes where Prince Mahesh
is having dialogues.
First
Half:
1.
Mahesh Babu with Sonu Sood in Hyderabad old city before stabbing
the unknown person and after the murder next dialogue is "Goda
Dukatam raadanukunta".
2. Mahesh Babu Telephonic conversation with Kota Srinivasarao
at Prasad Multiplex.
3. At function venue Mahesh conversation with Sonu about the
assassination plan and escape plan.
4. Mahesh "sorry" to unknown person after getting
down the train with 1.5 crore bag.
5. Chat with Rajeev Kanakala at moving train and ordering 2
coffees.
6. In the introduction scene with Suneel, Mahesh utters couple
of words.
7. At the temple scene Mahesh asks Suneel to meet Pujari at
his Residence.
8. Mahesh Babu utters 2 words to Pujari at his house.
9. Near the canal Mahesh reveals about his back ground to Suneel.
10. Mahesh teasing Trisha in the Ambassador and Benz scene.
11. Mahesh warning to Tanikella Bharani and MRO in the fields.
12. Heated conversation between Mahesh and Trisha after the
Tanikella Bharani fight.
13.
Mahesh interaction with Prakash Raj to get back finger prints
embedded business card.
14. Mahesh Babu Conversation with Brahmaji at Temple before
Jathara fight.
15. Mahesh Babu Sentiment dialogue with Sudha after the Jathara
fight.
16. Mahesh explanation about 'Divine' to Brahmanandam.
17. Mahesh discussion with Trisha before he breaks the wall
at paddy fields.
18. Sentimental scene at Trisha room, where Mahesh expresses
his love towards Trisha.
19. Mahesh giving 1000000 check to Nazar at his room.
20. Mahesh revealing about himself at Nazar house after marriage.
21. Mahesh says 'Nenee vastha' with Trisha before he leaves
Nazar House.
22. Mahesh second phone conversation with Kota Sreenivas Rao.
23. Mahesh conversation with Sonu Sood at St Mary's church before
the climax fight.
There are many scenes where Mahesh Babu does not have any
dialogue, but his presence makes those scenes powerful.
1.
Mahesh entering into Nazar House.
2. Scene where Giri Babu and Dharmavarapu requesting Mahesh
to say sorry to Trisha.
3. Scene where Prakash Raj encounter with Mahesh Babu before
interval.
4. Scene where Mahesh, MS Narayana and Suneel sat at the road
side hotel.
5. Scene where Nazar gives him Gun.
6. Scene where Mahesh hammers in Brahmanandam stomach.
1.
Shiyaji Shinde Murder case investigation by Prakash Raj. As
there is no element of suspense in the investigation part, it's
became a show stopper for the speed of the narration.
2. The threads of linking Nandu and parthoo characters were
not mixed properly.
3. Climax fight is not canned in an interesting way. There was
no powerful villain to counter the mighty characterization of
Mahesh Babu.
4. Mahesh is not trying to lookout for the culprit and not to
solve the mystery behind the murder is another weakling in the
movie.
5. Nazar giving the gun to Mahesh is not appealing as it does
not have any logic behind the scene.
6. Child becoming a contract killer in first shot was not explained
properly. Why does he shot a goon? How does he procure a revolver?
Who instigated the child to shoot the goon?
7. After Kid Mahesh rescued Rahul Dev from police station, the
link between Mahesh and Rahul was not shown. In the pre climax,
Rahul discloses about Sonu and Mahesh to police is not convincing.
CBI officer Prakash Raj should have got a clue from some one
else about the duo.
Strengths of the movie
Keeping
aside the above drawbacks, on the whole ATHADU movie is a good
entertainer and one must watch the movie for the following points.
1.
Mahesh excellent action in both the characters.
2. Brahmanandam character is highlight of the movie.
3. All the fight sequences (except climax) are made with a brilliance
of comedy touch. Tanikella Bharani fight and Brahmaji fights
are first class and were canned very well.
4. Trisha action is very good and scenes between Trisha and
Mahesh are well conceived.
5. Wholesome entertainment in the Basarlapudi village.
6. Mahesh introduction song is excellent and shot well.
