Jayabheri banner produced good films like Varalabbai, Pichipantulu, O Tandri Teerpu, Mugguru Mitrulu, Sravana Meghalu and Rajeswari Kalyanam. Jayabheri also produced commercially successful films like Nirnayam, Varasudu and Avida Maa Aavide with Nagarjuna as hero. After a big gap, this banner is back with 'Athadu' film.

Trivikram who is regarded as the most successful dialogue writer of Telugu cinema with less number of films is directing this film after a successful debut as director with Nuvve Nuvve.

Only Mahesh can do Athadu
Producer Jayabheri Kishore said, "Athadu is a stylish film. Mahesh Babu is playing a modern and rugged character. There is also village-type characterization for Mahesh Babu in few scenes. Mahesh is playing the role of guy who speaks less."

A thrilling fight with 160 cameras
There is a thrilling fight composed by Peter Hynes in Church set. Jayabheri Kishore borrowed 160 cameras from London for this fight. It took 27 days to can this extraordinary fight. They used cameras with 500 frames to enhance the effects.

Trisha as village girl
Trisha is playing a village girl who wears langa and voni. Her characterization is that of a very traditional innocent girl. There is tremendous on-screen chemistry between Mahesh Babu and Trisha.

A big house set by Thota Tarani
Trivikram visualized a house set for this film. The unit searched lots of places like Gopisettypalem, Polachi etc and could not locate a house that would suit the one visualized by Trivikram. Hence Thota Tarani is asked to construct this house set.

Audio in June and Film in July
Mani Sharma composed six songs for this film. Audio of Athadu would be releasing in the end of June. Athadu film would hit the marquee in July 2005.
