Daggubatis
and Kovlamudis
Daggubatis are the most successful producers of Telugu cinema.
Daggubati Rama Naidu holds the credit of producing most number
of feature films in the entire world. Kovelamudis are the
most successful directors of Telugu cinema. Kovelamudi Raghavendra
Rao redefined the way a commercial cinema is made in Telugu.
K Raghavendra Rao directed more than 100 films and he is still
going strong.
Now
the biggest question is what happens if Daggubatis and Kovelamudis
join hands again to make a film. You might be expecting an
extravagant commercial film. But the 3rd generation of Daggubatis
(Master Rama Naidu aka RaNa) and 3rd generation of Kovelamudis
(Kovelamudi Surya Prakash) are making a crossover film together.
RaNa
(grandson of Rama Naidu) has proven himself already by starting
an ad agency in Hyderabad and bagging prestigious ad campaigns.
He invited one of the producers of Lords of Rings to inaugurate
his ad agency. He inherited the PR (Public Relations) and
filmmaking technique from his grandfather Rama Naidu and business
orientation and filmmaking sophistication from his father
Suresh Babu. And cinema flows in his blood.
Surya
Prakash (son of K Raghavendra Rao) made his debut as hero
with a Telugu film titled Neetho a few years back. He recently
acted in a successful crossover film titled 'Morning Raga'
as hero. Surya Prakash is the man who always breathe cinema.
D
Rama Naidu produced films in the direction of Kovelamudi Surya Prakash
(father of K Raghavendra Rao). D Suresh Babu produced
films in the direction of K Raghavendra Rao. Now it is the
turn of RaNa to produce a film in the direction of Surya Prakash
(son of K Raghavendra Rao). Three generations of Daggubatis
produced films in the direction of three generations of Kovelamudis.
About
Bellyful of Dreams
Surya Prakash is directing a crossover English film titled
'Bellyful of Dreams'. This film is being produced by RaNa.
This film is about a rag picker called Ramu who wants to study
and make it big in education. The entire film is narrated
by using the art of puppetry. Allari Naresh and Shriya made
a guest appearance in this film for 3 minutes. Either Chiranjeevi
or Venkatesh would be dubbing the voice of one of the puppet
in this film. This film is likely to release on 14th of November
2005 on the eve of Children's day.
Let
us wish these young filmmakers all the best on this occasion
for choosing the route of different cinema than going for
a big commercial film with huge star cast!
