Raghu on Bommarillu

Venu

Bommarillu movie has been creating waves all over since its release. I'm a movie-freak in the first place and I couldn't wait to watch the movie for all the great response it has been getting. Before I got a chance to watch it, I was just thinking about what's so special about the movie that caught so much attention and Jeevi's extra-ordinary rating even enhanced my curiosity. Upon watching it, I felt no wonder why it's been talked about so much. The movie answered all my Q's, surpassed my expectations and even surprised me the way it has been put together!!

First things first, it's an utterly awesome clean family entertainer!! No doubt about it. There's not just one good thing about the movie but a lot. Pretty tight screenplay, excellent direction, a perfect blend of audio and video, extremely apt casting and an overall mind-blowing execution. More than anything and everything, it has got a lot of freshness from scene Start to scene End.

Genelia - If there's someone who everyone would be surprised by and impressed with, that's Genelia because the rest of the cast are the proven ones. Most of us know what they are and so obviously, one wouldn't be surprised with their performances. But Genelia, I just can't believe that she did it!! "Happy" is the movie when I first felt that she acted good and her terrific performance in Bommarillu comes as a surprise package. She, as Haasini is just a visual-treat!! Her innocence, angelic smile, pretty decent costumes and the way she carried herself through out the movie is really really good. One can't really help but fall in love with the character.

Siddardha - He's already a proven-actor. I knew he would rock and he proved that it is His ROLE. 'Appudo Ippudo' song proves that singing is an another talent that this multi-talented guy possesses.

Bhaskar - It's so amazing that a debut director delivered such a terrific movie. Though it has a basic storyline, it is his screenplay that created the magic. His portrayal of the characters is crystal clear and picture perfect. I'm very impressed with his style of film-making. Thanks to him for exploiting the acting skills of the heroine and not the heroine!! Absolutely no flesh-trade!! Here comes an excellent example for all those directors, producers and actresses who think otherwise......It's very rare that we get to watch a movie with family these days for all the indecency and violence most of them has. Thankfully, Bommarillu is an absolute family entertainer with no embarrassing moments at all.

Dil Raju - In Nuvvu Naaku Nachhaav, Trivikram penned a wonderful dialogue that's something like: "Oka manishi goppavaadaiana tharvaatha vaadini andharoo nammuthaaru, kaani, naa dhaggara emi leni naade nenu edho saadisthaanani nammindhi vaadokkade...." Dil Raju really belongs to that category. Call it a sheer coincidence but 'Dil Raju' - 'King at Heart' sounds very apt for him. He should be really commended for his confidence in all the newbies he has been introducing to the film industry. He proves himself again that he spots the right talent and hit’s the right chord.

At the end of the movie, I stood first and gave a big round of applause for such a wonderful movie and slowly I saw almost everyone standing and putting their hands together. The theatre turned into a felicitation stage. I don't know if my wishes would reach the Bommarillu team but just wanna say that "You guys are really appreciated for all the good work and for sure deserve a pat on the back and a big round of applause for pulling off such a cool movie. Kudos to all of you..."

I think it's a celebration time for Tollywood not just because of Bommarillu but for the new and talented directors - Neelakanta, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, Shekar Kammula, Bhaskar, Chandra Sidhartha, Shekar Soori, etc. who are taking the Telugu movie industry to the next level. Good job guys....

Cheers,
Raghu
