Tell
us about the Sahasra character you played in AOR?
When Chandu (Chandra Sekhar Yeleti) narrated me the story,
I was very impressed with the storyline. More so because the
entire film revolves around my character. I acted in bubbly
mass oriented roles so far. For the first time, I did a serious
performance oriented character in AOR. I did my homework by
observing secretly a few middle class girls and studied their
expressions.
After
doing AOR, I realized that the characteristics of Sahasra
are somewhat related to that of director Chandu. Chandu does
not talk with strangers. He laughs only with the people who
are close to him.
Regarding
the dressing, we made sure that there was no make-up. I did
not do any special hair dressing. I just wore a bindi, cotton
kurthi and a long skirt.
Tell
us about the director?
Director Chandu is a perfectionist. Even if I blinked my eye
a second later, he would make me do the shot again. He wants
everything with perfect timing. It was very tough working
with Chandu. Whenever there were close-up shots, I used to
get scared because he would want to me to do very precise
and controlled histrionics. I would take many takes to do
so. My expressions in AOR are natural with subtleness.
What
would you do if you face the same problem faced by Sahasra,
in real life?
In AOR, Sahasras father is a guy who fears everything and
her step mother is a hostile women. Hence Sahasra took the
situation in her own hands and fought the issue. But for me,
I have most loving and understanding parents. My brother is
very close to me. All these people would take care of my problems.
They would go to police officially and lodge a complaint.
They give me strength to live on happily even after such a
tragedy.
How
is it like working with Jagapati and Shashank?
I worked with many heroes so far. But for the first time I
have a chance to tease a hero by saying that I am senior.
That is Shashank. But I honestly feel Shashank and Jagapati
are better performers than me. Shashank is hardworking and
talented. Jagapati Babu is cool and nice just like the character
of Suresh Reddy he played in AOR.
Which
scene in AOR you think is the most difficult one to perform?
Honestly speaking, all 55 scenes I had in this film are difficult
ones. No other film offered me such a challenging task. It
was pretty hard to work in public places as most of the film
is shot in public places when people live around. I worked
for 85 days for AOR.
Did
you receive any compliments from industry people for your
Sahasra character?
If I start telling the kind of compliments I got, I would
end up praising myself. I dont want to give any names from
film industry. But what amazed me is the kind of response
I got from movie lovers. I visited Prasads and watched AOR
among the crowds. In the interval, lots of commoners came
to me and said that nuvvu maa koothurugala vunnav (you are
just like our daughter). Everybody started feeling that I
am like their family member. I was on cloud 9. This one film
changed my image and got me closer to the family crowds.
You
got a change of your image as performing artist with AOR?
What kind of films would you prefer in the future?
I worked so far in mass masala films. AOR is my first performance
oriented film. I love mass masalas and I don't want to deprive
mass movie lovers by saying no. At the same time, I would
not lose the privilege of working for performance oriented
films. I would like to balance by accepting mass and performance
films on 50:50 ratio.
What
are you future projects?
I am working for PB Arts (Bala Krishna), Political Rowday
(Mohan Babu), Style (Lawrence) and Pournami (Prabhas).
Would
you do another film for Chandu and Just Yellow banner?
I would give dates to them blindly without even looking at
the script. I loved the subject of AOR so much that I lost
four big projects for the sake of AOR. At the same time producer
Gunnam Gangaraju and director Chandu kept so much of faith
and confidence in me by choosing me for the Sahasra character
in AOR. I would like to thank them a lot.
I
get confused about spelling of your name. Is it Charmi or
Charmy?
I changed the spelling of my name to Charmme on the suggestion
of numerologist.
What
happened to your yahoo id? You are not logging into yahoo
messenger these days?
charmykaur is my Yahoo id. I am not logging into messenger
these days as I am busy. Even if I log in, I prefer keeping
myself in invisible mode. However, I am regularly checking
my mails on yahoo. I get hundreds of mails everyday and I
give short replies to some of them due to time constraint.
I request the esteemed visitors of idlebrain.com to keep sending
me more and more emails!
