He went to USA to pursue masters, but his passion for films didn't let him stay there for many years. He returned to India in 2002. He has been trying to enter movies and make a name for himself. He had to start a own business firm to give confidence to his parents who are worried about his future. He started his career as an assistant director for Okariki Okaru movie. He became independent after that movie and prepared many stories. One such story with humanitarian values and underlying human triumph caught the attention of all Telugu film producers. They liked it, but didn't have the courage to produce it. Most of them felt that the movie will find more takers in Tamil where realistic cinema rules on par with the formula movies. He didn't budge and went on consolidating script to suit to the taste of Telugu movie lovers. His father who was little hesitant about the career choice of his son came forward to produce movie. It is a road movie and budget is limited. They could have done wonders and given ultimate cinematic experience with the sound and visual. But they had to compromise on the technical values because of the budget. Though made on a reasonable budget with reasonable technical values, Telugu movie lovers could see soul in the movie and owned it. Started with empty halls, that movie became a big hit for it's budget mainly due to the mouth publicity from the Telugu movie lovers. Telugu movie lovers proved time and again that what matters for the movie is content and if the content is good they would become publicity managers for the movie.
The story didn't stop there. The director and the movie has won the best director and best movie award respectively in Nandi, Filmfare and many more. That movie became the only Telugu movie to be considered as an official entry to Oscars on behalf of India. That movie transcended the barrier of language and went on to become a success in other languages as well.
That director is Krish and that movie is Gamyam.
Today (10 November) is Krish's birthday. Let's all wish him a great day and caution him not to get carried away by awards. Let's hope that his film Vedam will also have soul like Gamyam and it should also give the cinematic experience with nice visuals and sound!!
