5th
December 2002
A
press meet was arranged for the film Manmadhudu at Annapurna studios
on 5th December 2002. This meet was attended by Nagarjuna Akkineni
(Producer and hero), K Vijaya Bhaskar (director) and the representative
of Sohan Music Company.
Nagarjuna
told that audio of the film Manmadhudu would be releasing in the
market on 7th of December (as mentioned in idlebrain.com news
today section on 1st December) and movie is releasing on 20th
of December. However Nagarjuna opined that the gap of 13 days between
audio and movie release is sufficient as songs are catchy and would
grab the pulse of public in the first hearing itself. 3 lakhs of
cassette and 30,000 units of CDs would be released in the first
bunch by Sohan Music on 7th of December. Speaking about the music,
Nagarjuna told that Devi Sri Prasad has done a wonderful job. Nagarjuna
told that he preferred to give audio rights to a relatively new
company like Sohan because they offered a pretty good deal not only
in terms of money but also their foolproof mechanism to prevent
audio piracy. He however opined that not a single hero or an audio
producer can eradicate piracy and its there is the hands of the
government to find the root cause and eliminate the piracy and pirates.
He also requested the press to give more coverage on audio/video
piracy related matters. Talking about the future projects Nagarjuna
mentioned that he has three films lined up for him in combinations
of VN Aditya - Siva Prasad Reddy, Poori Jagannath - Balaji Arts
and Jayant - Jayabheri (as mentioned in idlebrain.com news
today section on 14th November). Nagarjuna would be completed
Manmadhudu work by 12th of December and then he would have sufficient
time to sit with these directors to finalize the story.
Vijaya
Bhaskar said that all songs come as a part of story narration and
if one listens to the lyrics and beat of the songs, one can understand
the part of the storyline and the mood of the film. He said that
Sirivennela has written all the songs in this film and there is
one particular love song that talks about the first meeting of hero
and heroine, for which Sirivennela has gone an extra mile to coin
new words and lyrics for the expression of love. Vijaya Bhaskar
told that shooting of the entire film is completed except for the
hero's introduction song that goes like 'Don't Marry! Be Happy!!'.
He said that the film starts with this song that shows the attitude
and feelings of hero towards women and the rest of the story is
all about how his hatred towards women gradually goes down. He also
said that Sonali Bendre is a thorough professional and she learnt
all her Telugu dialogues to make sure that lip sync is intact with
that of the girl who is dubbing for her.
The
Sohan Music representative thanked Nagarjuna for giving rights to
a relatively newcomer like him and explained that they are duplicating
all the units in one place so that piracy could be prevented (Cassettes
are done in Bangalore and CDs are done in Singapore) unlike other
audio companies which duplicates the audio in 5-7 different places
to save time. Otherwise the audio would have been ready by 1st of
December.
