Asha
Saini is not getting many offers in spite of occasional success as second
heroine. Now she blamed it on numerology and decided to change her screen
name as Arjoo from Asha Saini. Similarly, Namita who is currently acting
in 'Gemini' and 'Sanotham', did change her screen name
to 'Bhairavi'. Shaheen of 'Chiru Navvuto' fame changed her name
to 'Sandhya' now. Anu of 'Subhavela' and 'Muthyam' fame
changed her name to Deepani now. We have to wait and see if the game
of name changing works wonders for these heroines

Nagarjuna's
Manmadhudu muhurtam was held at Annapurna studios on 8th of July.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao switched on the camera for the Muhurat shot.
Nagarjuna is playing a woman hater in this film. He does the role of
a manager in an ad agency. He starts hating woman as a girl is promoted
to a higher post in spite of his best talent. The story deals with how
the woman hater turns into the man of love. Trivikram Srinivas provides
story and dialogues.

NTR's Allari Ramudu is postponed from 12th July to 18th july to accommodate
the demand of releasing the film with 170 prints. Allari Ramudu is going
to be the first movie in Telugu film industry that is releasing with
170 direct prints. Chanti Addala is rumored to have made a table profit
of 3 crores through the skyrocketing business of the film 'Allari Ramudu'.
The audio sales of this film are very encouraging with '2002 varaku'
song (adapted from NTR's Vetagadu's Aakuchatu tune composed by Chakravarthy)
creating sensation. Arti Agrawal and Gajala are paired up with Jr. NTR
in this film. Nagma plays mother of Arti Agrawal. B Gopal directs this
most awaited film of the season.

Vamsi's latest film Khadgam began shooting on 7th May 2002 and it going
to have a continuous 115-day single schedule till 15th of August 2002.
This film is based on ISI elements in Hyderabad. Srikanth is playing
the role of sincere police officer DCP Radha Krishna. Prakash Raj is
playing the role of auto driver Amjad Khan. Though he does namaaz for
five times a day, he has good humanity towards Hindus. Prakash Raj has
a ladylove named 'Zubieda' in this film. Ravi Teja is playing a hilarious
comedy oriented role of Koteswara Rao. This guy wants to become a hero.
He would be looking at movie posters (just like what he did in Sindhooram)
and imagine himself in hero roles. His prime aim is to be called as
'Babu' by industry people (indirectly taking dig at Tollywood culture
where every hero from Nagarjuna and Venkatesh to Nitin are called as
'Babu' by unit members). Sonali Bendre, Kim Sharma (of Mohabbatein fame)
and Pooja Bharati are playing female leads. Uttej, MS Narayana and Raghubabu
play other important roles. Devi Sri Prasad scores music. Sirivennela,
Ashok Teja and Vijaya Kumar writes lyrics. Satyanand pens dialogues.
Bhupati (a Krishna Vamsi's regular) handles camera. Srikar Prasad does
editing. Horseman Babu composes fights. Sunkara Madhu Murali is producing
this film on Karthikeya Creations banner.

Prakash, who made his debut through recently released film '

to highly placed confidential sources, Pawan Kalyan's next venture after
the film 'Johnny' would be produced by Aswini Dutt in the direction
of Karunakaran. This film would go on floors in the next year. Pawan
Kalyan is currently doing the second schedule of Johnny, which started
on 3rd of June. The entire first schedule is canned on senior artists
like Raghuvaran. Pawan Kalyan did not act in any of the scenes in first
schedules. A popular model from Mumbai is said to have cast as heroine
in this film. Geeta Arts produces this venture.
Shooting
of Balayya's film in the direction of VV Vinayak is going on in the
areas of Vanaparthy, Kurnool and Bangalore now. Recently they canned
a fight scene in which the younger Bala Krishna gives an answer to the
eve teasers at a medical college. Bala Krishna is doing duel role in
this film. Bellamkonda Suresh produces this film, which also features
Tabu and Sreya. Mani Sharma provides music. Paruchuri brothers provide
dialogues. The current schedule started on 25th of June and it ends
on 25th of July. 70% of the talkie part would be completed by then.
The shooting part of this film would be completed by August and it completes
postproduction work in September. This film is slated for release in
the month end of September 2002.
Vallab
Alexander, the son of senior producer KS Rama Rao is going to debut
as hero with a screen name 'Vallabha' very soon. This film would be
directed by a NRI 'Bhanu'. KS Rama Rao and a couple of NRIs would jointly
produce this film. The film has USA backdrop and it would be launched
on 2nd September in USA. KS Rama Rao is selected as the jury member
for National Film award committee this year.
