Amma Cheppindi in Bellary
Shooting of Gangaraju Gunnam’s latest film Amma Cheppindi is currently taking place in Zindal Steel Plant Township in Bellary. This film will be shot at this place for 45 days. Sarvanand and Sriya Reddy are playing main leads. Suhasini plays an important role of mother. MM Keeravani composes music. Amma Cheppindi will be released in July 2006.

Rajamouli’s next in September
SS Rajamouli is currently directing a film with Ravi Teja as hero. This film will be released in the month of May 2006. His next film will be produced by Rajamouli himself on Viswamitra banner. The name of the hero will be announced very soon.

Poonam Kaur in Mayajalam

Bala Krishna’s film on 14th April
Bala Krishna’s latest film on Ambika Cinema banner completed abroad schedule on 18th February. The unit shot 3 songs on Bala Krishna, Sada and Tanu Sri Dutta in in New Zealand, Malaysia and Putrajaya. Bala Krishna’s film is the first Telugu film to be shot in Putrajaya. Currently a few comedy scenes are being canned in a set erected at Nanakram Guda Rama Naidu Studios. Audio of this film will be released in the first week of March and film will be released on 14th April. Four titles are under consideration and the producer will announce the title in the following week.

Pournami audio on 10th March
Shooting of Prabhas’s latest film Pournami is complete but for two songs. The remaining songs will be shot from 1st March. Introduction song of Prabhas will be shot in Araku valley and another song will be canned on Prabhas and Charmme in sets. Climax of this film was recently shot in Shamshabad. Trisha and Charmme are playing female leads. Producer MS Raju is planning to release the audio on 10th March and the film on 20th April 2006. Prabhudeva directs this film.

Sivajiraja arranges a blood camp
It is actor Sivaji Raja’s birthday today. On this occasion, Sivaji Raja arranged a blood camp in CARE hospital and made 60 people donate blood. On this eve, Sivaji Raja recollected his accident when he was survived due to the blood donated by others. He narrated the importance of blood donation and pledged that he would arrange blood camps at regular intervals.

Pokiri on 21st April
Shooting of Mahesh Babu’s latest film Pokiri is going on in a brisk pace. The climax of the film will be shot from 1st March in Chennai. Later that month, a couple of songs would be shot in New Zealand on Mahesh Babu and Ileana. Audio of Pokiri will be releasing in the first week of April. Producer is planning to release Pokiri on 21st of April. A fabulous theatrical trailer of is expected to storm theaters in the next week to cheer the crowds up for the grand gala release in summer. Manasa - granddaughter of yesteryears heroine G Varalakshmi - is playing heroine in Neelakanta’s latest film Nandanavanam 120 km. Ajay Varma is being introduced as hero. 90% of shooting of this film is complete so far. Vijay Kurakula composed music. PG Vinda handles camera. This film will be releasing in the month of April 2006.

Sindhu Tolani paired up with Sivaji
Sivaji and Sindhu Tolani are going to play main leads in a film to be produced by Sridhar on Jaswant Arts banner. Udaya Raja provides story. Eluri Mallikharjun will direct this film. This film will go to floors in third week of March. Vandemataram scores music.

Indraganti’s Maya Bazaar
Malliswari, Missamma and Maya Bazaar are three old classics that start with the letter M. Satyanarayana who produced Missamma recently in the direction of Neelakanta got critical appreciation for Missamma though he could not make money. A new writer called Jaya Kumar came up with a novel story and Satyanarayana made him narrate this story to Indraganti Mohana Krishna (Grahanam fame). Initially they wanted to name this film as ‘Kanaka Varsham’. But it was DV Narasa Raju who suggested the name Maya Babazaar. Songs recording of this film started today (23rd Feb). Regular shooting of this film starts in the month of April and ends in June. Postproduction work is going to be completed in July. Bhumila Chawla, Raja and SP Bala Subramanyam play important roles in this film. The caption of this film is going to be ‘Myth. Money. Magic.’. KM Radha Krishnan (music director of Anand film) is scoring six songs for this film.

Editor Mohan’s film win 4 state awards
Editor Mohan’s film M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster Amma Nanna O Telugu Ammai) won 4 state awards from Tamilnadu Government this year. These awards are best film, best actor (Jayam Ravi), best music director (Srikanth) and best dialogue writer (Prasanna Kumar). Ravi (elder son of Editor Mohan) proved himself as successful hero with remake blockbusters like Jayam, ANOTA and Varsham. Editor Mohan is planning to introduce Ravi in Telugu with a straight film.

Star cricket on 10th March
NTR - MGR memorial cricket match is going to be held on 10th March. Tarun and Abbas are going to lead Telugu and Tamil star teams respectively. Bangaram audio in March
Audio of Pawan Kalyan’s latest film Bangaram will be released in the first week of March by Aditya music. Recently a song was canned on Pawan Kalyan and other actors in the dance direction of Sabina Khan (Mumbai). The shooting of this film will be completed by 27th of February. Vidya Sagar composed music. Producer AM Ratnam said that the film will be released in the last week of March. Meera Chopra and Reema Sen are heroines in this film. Dharani directs it.

Animation version of Maya Bazaar
Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is going to direct an animation film that is going to recreate the magic of old classic Maya Bazaar (NTR, ANR, SVR and Savitri). Polygon is going to produce this animation film. Around 200 animators are going to work for this venture. Singeetam directed an animation film titled ‘Son of Alladin’ in the past. This film is going to be simultaneously made in Telugu, Tamil, English and Hindi languages.

Manodu and Rajababu on 24 March
Raja sekhar’s Raja Babu and Priyadarshini Ram’s Manodu are the 2 straight films to be released on 24th of this month. Hi Subramanyam and Surya Putrudu are the dubbing films which are releasing on the same day. Muppalaneni Siva directed Rajababu which is a remake of Malayalam film. Krishna Vamsi is going to direct NTR very soon and this film is all set to be produced by Durya Arts that produced blockbusters like Kshanakshnam and Hello Brother. Pooja ceremony of this film would be held on the day Ugadi and regular shooting will start from 1st May 2006.

VV Vinayak - Prabhas combination
VV Vinayak is going to direct a film with Prabhas as hero soon. P Ravindranath Reddy - mayor of Kadapa and bother-in-law of chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy will be making his debut as producer. Nayana Tara who acted in three Telugu blockbusters Chandramukhi, Ghajani and Lakshmi expected to play female lead in this film. Pooja ceremony of this film will be held in April.

Samudra to direct Rajasekhar
Samudra is going to direct Rajasekhar’s film very soon. This film is going to be a Telugu remake of Malayalam film Lion. Nagarjuna’s devotional epic which is expected to release on 22nd of February as Sivarathri special is pushed to the last week of March. Incidentally, Sri Ramadasu is going to be first big film of the summer 2006. This decision is taken by keeping the examinations of 10th and Intermediate in first half of March in consideration. K Raghavendra Rao directed this film and MM Keeravani scores music. Konda Krishnam Raju is the producer.

Ravi Krishna as Jadoo
A Ravi Krishna (of 7GBC fame) is acting in a bilingual film that is being produced by AM Ratnam. Telugu version of this film is titled as Jadoo with the tagline ‘Romantic Thief’. Tamil version of this film is titled as KD. Ileana (Devadasu heroine) and Tamanna (Sri heroine) are playing female leads. Yuan Shankar Raja composes music. Atul Kulakarni plays a vital role as heroine’s brother. Shooting of this film is complete except for 5 songs an action episode. Jyothy Krishna - elder son of AM Ratnam who directed Nee manasu naaku telusu - is directing this film. AM Ratnam is planning to release Jadoo in May 2006.

Asadhyudu with 110 prints
Kalyan Ram’s blockbuster Athanokkade was released with 72 prints and 24 prints were later added which took the total to 96. His latest film Asadhyudu is all set to release with 110 prints on 16th of February. In Hyderabad city alone this film is releasing in 18 screens. The duration of the film is expected to be 2 hours and 10 minutes. Asadhyudu is going for censoring on 13th of February.

Sagar wins Directors elections
Director Sagar was elected as the President of AP Film Directors Association by huge margin in elections held today. YVS Chowdary and Relangi Narsimha Rao were elected as vice presidents. Film hero Rajasekhar bought the Telugu remake rights of Malayalam blockbuster Lion starring Dileep and Kavya Madhavan. This film is directed by Joshi. Most of his films - Villain (Villain - Tamil), Aptudu (Ghatak - Hindi), Nayakudu (Runway - Malayalam) and Raja Babu (Belattan - Malayalam) - in the recent past are remakes. He will be doing Amitab’s role in Telugu remake of Hindi film Khakhi in his next project.

Extra song to be added to Style
‘Tadava Tadavakosari’ song which is included in audiocassette did not find a place in Style film. Producer Lagadapati Sridhar is planning to shoot this song on Raja & Charmme and add it in theaters after 50 days run of Style. There had been dissatisfaction from certain section of audience that there is no duet for Raja in Style. Hopefully, this additional song would please them.

Popular actress Simran is making her comeback with 'Idi Sangathi' in Telugu films after getting married and delivering a baby. Ram Gopal Varma has obtained interim injunction for Shock film. This entitles him to be sole and absolute holder of all the rights, title and interest in the respect of Telugu film Shock. Lawyer of Ram Gopal Varma issued a caution notice in all leading newspapers today, which indirectly removes Suresh Kondeti from being joint producer of the film.

PVR Cinemas launched in Hyderabad
PVR Ltd has commenced operations at its multiplex at Hyderabad Central Mall, Punjagutta, Hyderabad. 3 Screens out of 5 Screens Multiplex Complex at Hyderabad have started commercial operations on February 01, 2006 (evening). With the start of operations of these 3 screens the total number of screens in operation shall go upto 50. The openings films at PVR Cinemas, Hyderabad are Happy (Telugu), Chronicles of Narnia (English), Rang De Basanthi (Hindi) and Aksar (Hindi). The ticket price is Rs. 90/-.
