Amma Cheppindi on 21st July
Gangaraju Gunnam’s latest film Amma Cheppindi will be released on 21st of July. This film has Sarvanand and Sriya Reddy playing main leads. Suhasini is doing the role of mother. MM Keeravani scores music. Sandeep Gunnam (son of Gangaraju Gunnam) is making his debut as cinematographer through this film. Audio of this film will be launched in the last week of June.

Stalin on September 20
Chiranjeevi’s Stalin will be released on 20th of September. Audio launch of Stalin would be held at a high profile function on the night of 21st August coinciding Chiranjeevi’s birthday arrival. Audio will be available in market on 22nd August. Chota K Naidu handles cinematography. Mani Sharma composes music. Trisha is the heroine. Muruga Doss directs this film.

Sivaji shoots in Spain
Shooting of Songs of Rajnikant’s latest film Sivaji is currently going on in Spain. Rajnikant is donning variety get-ups in this song. Shriya is playing female lead. AVM Productions is producing the Tamil version and Mega Supergood Films is doing the Telugu version. Shankar directs this film.

Krishna in Vijaya Nirmala direction
Krishna will be acting in a Telugu remake of Amitab Bachchan’s Hindi blockbuster soon. Vijaya Nirmala is paired with Krishna in this film. Vijaya Nirmala is also going to direct this flick. This film will be launched on Vijaya Krishna banner in October 2006.

Venky for Ranam 100 days function
Dasari, D Rama Naidu and Venkatesh will attend the 100 days function of Gopichand’s latest film Ranam on the evening of 4th June. Gopichand’s Ranam completed 50 days 114 centers and 100 days in 24 centers. Producer Pokuri Babu Rao is planning a grand function on the evening of 4th June in Hyderabad. Srihari’s Hanumanthu on 1st June
Srihari’s latest mass film Hanumanthi is releasing with 110 prints on 1st June all over Andhra (including Prasads multiplex). Srihari produced this film on Chalanachitra banner. Mahesh releases Amruthavarsham audio
Mahesh Babu released the audio of Amrutha Varsham at the office of Concept films today morning. He gave the first unit to the hero and heroine. This film is a remake of Kannada blockbuster Amruthadhare with Sameer and Ramya as main leads. Kulasekhar pens dialogues. N Chandrasekhar directs this film. Anandi Arts is presenting this film. Concept films banner is producing Amruta Varsham. Amitab Bachchan did a special appearance in this film.

Great appreciation for Godavari unit tour
Godavari unit embarked on promotion tour yesterday. Sumanth, Sekhar Kammula and GVG Raju are touring in AP and Ceded. The unit visited Kurnool, Nellore, Ongole, Kadapa, Tirupati, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tadepallygudem and Tanuku yesterday and today. The unit will visit Vizag, Gajuwaka and Rajahmundry tomorrow. The tour ends at Rajahmundry where the film was extensively shot. The unit is being given great reception by crowds all over.

IAMA release on 9th June
Rajendra Prasad’s latest film Iddaru Athala Muddula Alludu is all set to release on 9th of June. Audio of this film will be released in the first week of June. Keerthi Chawla and Harathi are playing female leads. Devanand directed this film. IAMA obtained clean U certificate from censor board recently.

Audio of SS Rajamouli’s latest film Vikramarkudu will be released on 31st of May at a function arranged near hitec city in Madhapur. The venue for this function is going to be the set erected for a song shoot of this film. Ravi Teja is donning double role in this film for the first time in his career. Anushka is playing female lead as Meghana Naidu did the item song. MM Keeravani composed music. Aditya audio bought music rights.

Six minutes of Godavari trimmed
Six minutes of second half of Godavari was trimmed recently. The trimmed part consists of the baby delivery episode and the scenes that lead to it and that follows it.

Censor Board ratings on trailers
It has become mandatory now for all filmmakers to specify CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification) ratings on all trailers. You can see that all the latest trailers are displaying DBFC ratings. CBFC gives three ratings – U (universally watched by all ages), A (only adults) and UA (kids can also watch with parental guidance).

RP Patnaik is back with Teja. RP Patnaik will be scoring music for Teja’s next film with Kalyan Ram as hero. This film will go to floors on 3rd of June. Simran dropped from Evadaithe Nakenti
Actress Simran is said to have been dropped from Raja Sekhar’s next film Evadaithe Nakenti (Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Lion) even before the regular shooting is started. Rajasekhar gave a diplomatic answer by saying that she is not acting in this film. But she will be doing heroine in his next project. Simran is replaced by a relatively unknown Malayali actress in Evadaithe Nakenti.

Ramark bags Vikramarkudu for Asia Pacific
Ramark Group has bagged theatrical exhibition rights of “Vikramarkudu” for Asia-Pacific. “Vikramarkudu”, starring Ravi Teja, Anuksha and is directed by the most successful director ‘Rajamouli’, is said to be an out and out mass comedy. Prasads slashes prices
Prasads multiplex slashed its ticket prices from Rs. 100/- to Rs 60/- for all new films. Now one can buy any multiplex ticket for just Rs. 60/- from now onwards. PVR multiplex is still continuing charging Rs. 100/- per ticket.

3 releases on 26th May
This Friday is going to witness three films releases. Sri Krishna 2006 (Srikanth, Venu & Gowri Mumjal) is produced by D Rama Naidu in the direction of popular story writer Vijayayendra Prasad. Dhoolpet is a dubbing film starring Dhanush, Sneha and Sonia Agarwal in the direction of Selva Raghavan (7GBC director). Supergood banner produced this film. Jalakanta is another dubbing film starring Simbu.

Historical films by Akkinenis
With the success of Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, there is lot of pressure on Nagarjuna. All the producers want him to do many more films on historical legends. ANR wants Nagarjuna to do a film based on the great poet Kalidasu. Writer JK Bharavi said that he wants to see ANR and Sumanth to do the roles of Rama Krishna Paramahamsa and Swamy Vivekananda respectively. Murali Mohan announced that he would produce a film on Jesus Christ if Nagarjuna and K Raghavendra Rao give their consent. We have to wait and see which script is going to materialize.

Vikramarkudu nearing completion
Shooting of song of Ravi Teja’s Vikramarkudu is currently going on at a set erected in Hitec city, Madhapur. It is being canned on Ravi Teja, Anushka and Ruthika. Shooting of the song will be completed in 2 days. The last song of the film will be shot from 31st May to 4th June. Rerecording work of the film is complete and dubbing is almost over. SS Rajamouli directs this film. Audio of the film will release on 28th of this month. Vikramarkudu film is likely to release on 15th of June.

Kannada Okkadu hits big time
Kannada version of Okkadu with Punit Raj Kumar as hero became one of the biggest blockbusters of Kannada. This film is directed by Mehar Ramesh. Mehar Ramesh worked in the team of Puri Jagan for films including Pokiri and Desamuduru. Made with a budget of 4 crores, this film is expected rake in around more than 10 crores. Mehar Ramesh is planning to direct a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil now.

ANR watched a special preview of Sumanth’s latest film Godavari at Prasad Labs Preview Theater at 3:15 pm on 20th May. The heroines who also watched this preview are Anushka and Charmme. Nagarjuna would also be watching the film very soon.

Visu films’ Mee Sreyobhilashi
CC Reddy (of Visu Consultants) who produced Gowtam SSC is currently producing Roommates with AVS as director. He will be producing another film titled ‘Mee Sreyobhilashi’ by introducing V Eeswar Reddy as the director. This film will have 24 characters and all these characters would be enacted by newcomers. Shooting of the film will start in the month of June. Dr. Y Sonia Reddy is the official producer.

Notebook by 10th class director
Chandu who made his debut with 10th class film is all set to direct another film titled Notebook. He is planning to introduce 40 new actors and actresses through this film. Bellampally Prasad will produce this film on ‘10th class productions’ banner. This film will go to floors in the month of August.

Simran pairs up with Raja Sekhar in Evadaithe Nakenti
Raja Sekhar’s next film in the direction of V Samudra is titled as Evadaithe Nakenti. This film is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lion’. This film will be launched at a high profile function held in Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy’s Indoor Stadium in Yousuf Guda, Hyderabad on the evening of 19th May. Raja Sekhar will also felicitate medal winners of Commonwealth Games, Melbourne 2006 on this occasion. ANR, Dasari and other political leaders will grace this function. The winners who get felicitated include Gagan Narang, Siena Nehwal, Chetan Anand, Jwala, Sruthi Kurien, Amit Sanghi and world chess champion Pratyusha.

Namitha goes Hollywood
Actress Namitha has been signed on to play the title role in an English film titled Maya. This film is being produced by Hollywood producer Gregory Castante. Namitha is playing the role of a traditional Malayali girl. The story is about a young girl who comes to Kerala from London. Played by English actress Zaina, the girl meets Maya, soon after which she is drawn into a mystery, resulting in an unexpected sequence of events and climax. Eric Manning who has a few suspense thrillers to his credit (Tales from Beyond and Inside Job) will direct this film.

Raja in another NRI’s project
After Vennla, Raja is all set to act in another NRI-backdrop project to be produced by NRIs. This film will be produced by Washington based produced Ramana on Manoranjan Movies banner. Other details are being worked out.

Godavari premiere tickets which are issued for general public are priced at Rs. 300/- each. This premiere with take place in IMAX screen of Prasads multiplex at 9 am on 19th May. Smita opens Bubbles and Ice in Vijayawada
Pop star Smita hired a 7000 sq ft area to launch a beauty saloon (Bubbles) and a fitness center (Ice) in MG Road of Vijayawada. This outlet will be officially launched by Kalyan Ram Nandamuri, Aryam Rajesh and Subbaraju tomorrow (12th May). Nagarjuna who launched Bubbles in Hyderabad has sent a congratulatory message to Smita through video, which will be screened at the launch tomorrow.

National award winning director Neelakanta’s latest film ‘Nandanavanam 120 kms’ is all set to release on 2nd of June. Neelakanta is introducing two new faces – Ajay Varma and Manasa. Kota and Talluri Rameshswari play other important role. Nandanavanam is another screenplay based film from Neelakanta which can be categorized into mystery thriller genre. Paruchuri enrolls for D. Lit
Paruchuri Gopala Krishna was awarded doctorate from Osmania University for his thesis work on ‘Telugu Cinema Sahityam- Katha-Kathanam-Silpam’ a couple of years back. Now he has enrolled himself for D. Lit (Doctor of Literature) now. He has taken another subject related to Telugu films to pursue his academic interests.

Uday Kiran’s mother expired
Uday Kiran's mother passed away on the 5th night due to intensive heat and a cardiac arrest. The actor's parents left the previous day with three hundred families on a pilgrimage to Kurukshetra and minutes after stepping into the place, his mother breathed her last. She was 54. After the ceremonies, the actor will join the film unit in Chennai where his fresh Tamil project directed by Raj Kapoor is expected to take off.

Ileana injured
Latest sensation Ileana was slightly injured when she was doing her last day’s work for AM Ratnam’s film Jadoo with Ravi Krishna playing the main lead on Sunday (7th May). A glass pane has fallen on her leg which resulted in 7-8 stitches. She is fine now and is back to work today for Munna film (featuring Prabhas) at Vizag.

Bomb blast in Odeon compound
A bomb was exploded in Odeon compound in RTC cross roads tonight at 10:30 pm which left three people injured. This bomb was set off in Odeon Deluxe theater where Lakshmi film is being screened. The injured people are admitted in Gandhi Hospital. More details are awaited.

Blood donation song in Stalin
Chiranjeevi in chitchat with journalists today revealed that Stalin film is going to have a serious song that highlights blood donation. Mani Sharma is composing music.
