Pokiri 100 days function on 6 August
100 days public function of the latest industry hit of Telugu film industry Pokiri that made Mahesh as the new superstar of Telugu cinema is all set to be held in Vizag on 6th of August. Mahesh Babu’s birthday is 9th August. Mahesh Babu’s fans are going to have two occasions to celebrate in the first half of August 2006.

Hansika Motwani in Desa Muduru
Hindi film actress Hansika Motwani is going to make her debut in Telugu films with Puri Jagan’s latest film Desa Muduru with Allu Arjun as hero. Hansika acted in Hindi films like Escape From Taliban, koi Mil Gaya, Hawa and Abra Ka Dabra in the past. She is currently acting in He - The Only One (the Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster Athanokkade) as female lead.

Superman Returns releases in Prasads IMAX
Hollywood film Superman Returns is released in IMAX screen of Prasads Multiplex today. There are 20 minutes of 3-D portion in the film. This film was previewed to the press and media today evening and Ramesh Prasad said that this film is poised to become a good entertainer for kids.

Director Gopichand’s Nuvve
Gopichand who directed films like Mister Mayagadu, Merupu, Navvulata and Lovers like us (English) is currently making a film titled Nuvve (a story never told before). This film sports three heroes and a heroine. Shafi (Khadgam fame), Ravi Varma (Vennela fame) and Danish are playing male leads where as Mumbai girl Samragni is doing female lead. Shooting of the film is completed but for a song. Dubbing is also over. Chota K Naidu handles cinematography. Asirwad provides music. Ramesh and Gopi pen dialogues. Producer Lakshmi Reddy Idamakanti is planning to release this film in the month of July.

Fight master Vikram Dharma is no more
Veteran fight master Vikram Dharma (48) died today morning due to a massive cardiac arrest. He was survived by a wife, one daughter and one son. He choreographer dare devil stunts to many films like Gentleman, Bharateeyudu, Narasimha Naidu, Samarasimha Reddy, Indra, Yuva etc. He finished his work for latest Mani Ratnam’s Hindi flick Guru. He was very close to Kamal Hassan and worked for most of his films. His body will be cremated tomorrow. May his soul rest in peace.

Sainikudu in October
Shooting of Sainikudu - Mahesh Babu’s latest film in the direction of Guna Sekhar – is currently going on in a 14-storeyed building near Gemini bridge, Chennai now. A few scenes involving Mahesh Babu, Trisha and Irfan Khan are being canned at present. C Aswini Dutt is producing this film on Vyjayanthi banner. Harris Jayaraj is providing music. Sainikudu is aiming for October 2006 release.

Chiranjeevi starts for ATA today
Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja and Srikanth would be starting today in Hyderabad to join the 9th ATA conference and Youth convention by American Telugu Association (ATA) to be held from 30th June to 2nd July at long beach, CA. Mani Sharma will be conducting a musical night on this occasion.

Ashok on 13th July
NTR’s Ashok is all set to release of 13th July. Shooting of the film is complete and postproduction work is nearing completion. Sameera Reddy is doing female lead. Morse code song in Amma Cheppindi
Speaking to idlebrain.com, music director MM Keeravani said today that he composed a song in Amma Cheppindi for which lyrics are written in morse code consisting of dashes and dots. This album will have 5 full-length songs and five bit songs. Audio of this film will be launched on the evening of 24th June at Club Jayabheri. Gangaraju Gunnam directs this film.

Nandanavanam pushed to 7 July
The release of Neelakanta’s Nandanavanam 120 kms film is pushed from 30 June to 7th July. It has become increasingly difficult to get hold of good theaters for small films. Ajay Varma and Manasa are doing their debut in this film. N120kms will also be released in USA simultaneously.

Vikramarkudu with 194 prints
Vikramarkudu film was released with 194 prints today which is the biggest release for hero Ravi Teja. In Nizam itself, this film was released with 60 prints. In Hyderabad city, Vikramarkudu was released in 28 theaters. In USA, it is releasing with 4 prints.

Stalin shoots in Abu Palace
Chiranjeevi is currently shooting an action episode in Hotel Abu Palace, Chennai now. The names of Nayana Tara, Mallika Sharawat and Charmme were tossed by the media for an item song in this film. Talking to idlebrian.com Tagore Madhu said that he has not contacted anybody to do the item song of the film so far. Item song of the film will be shot in the first week of September and the item song girl will only be signed in August month. Stalin film is all set to release worldwide with highest number of prints ever on 20th of September.

K Raghavendra Rao to make Pandurangadu
K Raghavendra Rao who directed devotional blockbusters like Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu is expected to direct another devotional film 'Pandu Rangadu' soon. JK Bharavi is working on a script for this project. K Raghavendra Rao recently registered Panduranga Mahatyam and Pandurangadu titles in AP Film Chamber of Commerce through his home banner RK Associates. Other details are awaited.

Mani Sharma made his debut as full-fledged music director with comedian AVS’s debut film as director ‘Super Heroes’. AVS’s latest directorial venture ‘Roommates’ is going to be 100th film of Mani Sharma. Shooting of this film is almost complete. Viswanadha Sastry who is known to public as ‘Iron Leg Sastry’ died today of cardiac arrest. EVV introduced him to film industry with ‘Iron Leg Sastry’ role in Premakhaidi film. He acted in more than 100 films so far. He is survived by a wife and two children. May his soul rest in peace!

Audio of Gangaraju Gunnam’s latest film Amma Cheppindi will be released on 24th of June. MM Keeravani scored music for this film. Mrs. Sri Valli (w/o of music director MM Keeravani) is starting a music label ‘Vel Records’ to promote good music and Amma Cheppindi is going to be first album on that label. This film is due for the release on 21st of July.

Singanamala Ramesh bought Tamil remake rights of latest sensational Telugu blockbuster Pokiri. Prabhudeva will make his debut in Tamil as director with this remake film. Vikramarkudu on 23 June
Ravi Teja’s latest film Vikramarkudu is set to release on 23rd of this month with more than 180 prints (highest ever prints release for hero Ravi Teja). Speaking to idlebrain.com, producer ML Kumar Chowdary said that Ravi Teja has given extraordinary performance as the cop (he played double roles) and the second half has come out really well. He said that budget of the film is around 11 to 12 crores. SS Rajamouli directed this film and Anushka is heroine. Keeravani scored music and Sarvesh Murari handled cinematography.

Annamayya – Ramadasu express tour details
Nagarjuna’s Annamyya – Ramadasu express tour held yesterday (11th June) was a huge success. The train consisting of 15 compartments started in the morning at Tirupati and winners of MAA TV contest alighted the train in all the important stations between Tirupati and Bhadrachalam. Nagarjuna came out of train in all major stations to greet public. He also made sure that he went through all the compartments and greeted all the winners. The unit along with the winners went to Bhadrachalam and performed poojas at Rama temple constructed by Sri Ramadasu. The timings in the night were extended till 11 pm so that all winners get to have a satisfactory darshan. The entire program would be telecast on MAA TV very soon. Incidentally this is second tour of Nagarjuna on train after Nuvvu Vastavani.

The first schedule of Bala Krishna’s latest film in the direction of P Vasu was completed in Uttaranchal (Nainital, Haridwar, Rishikesh etc). This schedule took place for 22 days. A few scenes in the combination of Bala Krishna, Meera Jasmine, Jayaprada, Naresh, Jayaprakash Reddy and Ali were shot. A couple songs on Bala Krishna and Meera Jasmine were also canned. The next schedule starts on 15th June and it will take place for 25 days.

Release of ‘Da Vinci Code’ film based on the controversial book by Dan Brown is stalled in AP. This film is due for the release in AP on 2nd June.
