Maharadhi on 1st February
Bala Krishna’s latest film Maharadhi is all set to release on 1st of February. Music composed by Guru Kiran is a big hit. Sneha, Meera Jasmine and Navaneet Kaur are playing female leads. Vasu (Chandramukhi fame) directed this film. Release date of this film is formally announced by the producer Vakada Appa Rao today.

Padma Sri to Mohan Babu
It’s official now. Mohan Babu is conferred with prestigious national honor Padma Sri. The list of Padma award winners was officially announced at 12:40 am on 26 January. Padma Sri to Mohan Babu?
Rumors are rife in Film Nagar that the name of Mohan Babu will be announced for the coveted national honor ‘Padma Sri’ on 25 January. Mohan Babu is currently shooting for Yama Donga in Ramoji Film City and his cell phone is switched off. We have to wait for the official conformation tomorrow. There are speculations about D Rama Naidu getting Dada Saheb Falke award, the highest honor for any film personality in India.

Unprecedented craze for Bala Krishna
Bala Krishna is currenly is Rayalaseema to shoot a song in his forthcoming prestigious film Okka Magadu. This song ‘Deva Devadideva’ is being picturized in the backdrop temples in Ceded. Two choreographed turned directors Amma Rajasekhar and Suchitra choreographed this song. Huge number of fans of Bala Krishna and general moviegoers thronged to the shooting location to get a glimpse at Bala Krishna. The police had to resort to lathi charge to control the crowds at many places.

Notebook on 2 February
Chandu who made his directorial debut ‘10th class’ a success has directed another film titled Notebook by introducing music director Koti’s son Rajiv as hero. The music scored by Micky J Meyers has already become popular. This film is a teenage love story. Notebook will be releasing on 2 February 2007.

Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao’s son as hero
Ravi Babu – son of prolific film writer Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao – is all set to make his debut as hero. Prem Raj – protégé of Paruchuri brothers – is making his debut as director. This film is expected to be of revolution genre. B Madhava Reddy and Rama Krishna are going to produce this film. This film will go to floors in March 2007.

Abburi Ravi – a replacement to Trivikram
With his exceptionally good work for Bommarillu film, Abburi Ravi proved himself as a good dialogue writer. With Trivikram going into direction, there has been big void in dialogues department about who can write sensible, witty yet philosophical dialogues. Abburi Ravi is slowly filling in that gap left by Trivikram. He is penning dialogues for Vijaya Bhaskar’s film Classmates. Vijaya Bhaskar has Trivikram penning dialogues from Swayamvaram to Jai Chiranjeevi. Abburi Ravi is also penning dialogues for two big ventures like Don and Athidi.

Classmates on 20 April
Sravanthi Ravi Kishore’s Malayalam remake Classmates will be releasing on 20 April. Sumanth, Aharvanand, Sada and Kamalinee are playing main leads in this Vijaya Bhaskar directed films. Malayalam version of Classmates is the biggest ever blockbuster in Kerala. It also won Asia Net award as the best film recently. Abburi Ravi provides dialogues. Koti composes music. The earlier Sravanthi Ravi Kishore – Vijaya Bhaskar Malayalam combination Nuvve Kavali turned out to be stupendous hit. We have to wait and see how this film is going to fare.

Rami Reddy held for drunken driving
Telugu film villain Rami Reddy was caught driving in a state of inebriation on the night of 20 January. The traffic cops stopped his Ford Ikon and made him undergo alcohol test and he was taken to police station. He was let off on bail on the morning of 21st January. The traffic cops were on special drive to eradicate drunken driving in the city.

Allu Arjun inaugurates Cine Planet
Allu Arjun, VV Vinayak and D Suresh Babu inaugurated Cine Planet multiplex located in Kompally on 17 January. Two screens are operational as of now and two more screens will be functional in few days. This multiplex is playing Desamuduru, Yogi and Guru at present. We have to wait and see how a multiplex is going to fare in a suburb like Kompally. Incidentally Cine Planet is the 3rd multiplex. Malla Reddy is the owner of the theater. Asian Films and Suresh Movie Distributors are said to have leased out this multiplex. D Suresh Babu says that Cine Planet is going to be the biggest multiplex in the city as per the seating capacity as each screen accommodates 500 patrons.

Hyderabad Nawabs as Allulla Mazaka
The successful Hyderabadi Hindi film ‘Hyderabad Nawabs’ is going to be dubbed and released in Telugu. This film is titled as ‘Allulla Mazaka’. Vennelakanti is penning dialogues and lyrics. Lyricist Vishwa makes his debut as music director with this film. RK who produced the original is also producing dubbed version on Utopia Entertainments banner.

Madhumasam audio on 20 January
Audio of Sumanth’s next venture Madhumasam in the direction of Chandra Siddhartha is going to release on 20 January. Sneha and Parvati Melton play female leads. Mani Sharma composed music. Talkie part of the film is complete and two songs are pending. Producer D Rama Naidu is planning to release the film February.

Vajrostavam song on heroes
A song penned by Suddala Ashok Teja and composed by Devi Sri Prasad is being canned in Annapurna studios today on all top heroes of Telugu cinema. K Raghavendra Rao and Krishna Vamsi are directing this song. This song is going to be the kind of ‘national anthem’ to Telugu cinema. This song will be projected during Telugu cinema vajrostavam which is being held on grand scale by Telugu film industry from 26 January to 28 January.

Blood groups concept in Okkadunnadu
When Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is directing a film, there got to be some factor of curiosity around it. Chandu who directed critically acclaimed films like Aithe and AOR is currently making Okkadunnadu with Gopichand as hero. The logo of this film has blood groups embedded in it. When we asked producer Cherry about it, he confirmed that there is an angle of blood group in the film and one has to wait till the release to know more about it. Audio of this film will be released between 20 and 25 of this month. MM Keeravani scores music.

Hampi ready for heroine role
Internationally acclaimed Telugu teen chess champion Koneru Hampi expressed her willingness to act in Telugu films in heroine role provided she is offered one with noble motivations. She would like to do characters like the one played by Aswini Nachappa in the past.

Chiranjeevi watches Desamuduru
Chiranjeevi watched a special preview of Desamuduru today at preview theater of Prasad labs. The show started at 3:30 and got over by 6 pm. He appreciated Allu Arjun for his fabulous work. Allu Arvind watched the film yesterday night at the same venue. Desamuduru is releasing worldwide on 12 January 2007.

Yogi obtains U/A
Prabhas’s Yogi got censored today and obtained U/A certificate. Prints are already dispatched and will be arriving by 12th in most of the centers. Yogi is releasing worldwide on 14 January on the eve of Bhogi festival. Incidentally VV Vinayak’s last blockbuster Lakshmi was also released on the same day.

Allari Naresh and Sivaji team up
Comedy heroes Sivaji and Allari Naresh are going to team up soon. This film will be directed by D Satyanarayana and produced by Alapati Ramesh Kumar. Sri is going to provide music. Anji handles photography. This film will go to floors from 20 January.

Ramana Gogula cameo on Yogi
Ramana Gogula is not only singer and music director, he is also a great stage performer. Interesting he did not appear in any of Telugu films he has done so far. Ramna Gogula will be giving guest appearance in ‘Orori Yogi’ item song that is picturized on Prabhas and Mumaith Khan.

Desamuduru prints dispatched
Prints of Allu Arjun’s latest film Desamuduru have been dispatched to US, UK, Australia and Dubai in a timely manner and two days before the release of the movie on 10th January. Desamuduru is releasing worldwide on 12 January. Puri Jagan is directing this film after delivering industry hit Pokiri. Hansika Motwani plays female lead. Chakri scored music.

Maharadhi for the month end
Bala Krishna’s Maharadhi is postponed from 10 January to this month end. The delay in release is due to technical work as the producer Vakada Appa Rao is getting DI (Digital Intermediate) done in Mumbai. Another reason for the delay is unavailability of theaters in Nizam due to plenty of big releases in December and January.

Allu Arjun’s Desa Muduru got censored and obtained U/A certificate. This film is all set for the Friday release on 12 January. Hansika Motwani is making her debut through this film. Allu Arjun plays the role of TV reporter and Hansika plays Sanyasini. This film has Himachal Pradesh backdrop. This film is a love story with action orientation. Puri Jagan directs this film.

Yogi for Bhogi
Yogi is all set to release on Bhogi day 14th Januay (as per Telugu calendar, Bhogi falls on 14 January this year). Prabhas and Nayana Tara are doing main leads in this Telugu remake of Kannada blockbuster Jogi. Sarada plays mother in this mother sentiment mass film. Mumaith Khan did an item song. Ramana Gogula composed music. Sameer Reddy handled cinematography. VV Vinayak directed this film.

Tarun learns filmmaking in London
Hero Tarun took a break of 18 months after the release of his last film ‘Oka Oorilo’. Mean while he is said to have gone to London and got trained in filmmaking from London branch and New York Film Institute. His next film is going to start soon. He would announce his next film details on Sankranthi day.

Yashpal Sharma in Telugu
Gopichand is giving an entry for Bollywood villains into Telugu film industry. Bollywood villain Mahesh Manjrekar is making his debut through ‘Okkadunnadu’ which is due for the release in February. Bala Krishna who has the unique features to act in films any genre is going to entertain the movie lovers in a devotional film titled ‘Ranga – Panduranga’. Guru Kiran background music for Yogi
Guru Kiran – popular Kannada music director – is scoring background score for Prabhas’s latest film Yogi. Guru Kiran composed music for the Kannada blockbuster Jogi which is being remade in Telugu as Yogi. Ramana Gogula confines himself to giving songs of the film. The producer usually rope in some other music director for scoring background music. It was Tamil music director Dina who scored BGM for Annavaram for which Ramana Gogula scored songs. Guru Kiran gave music for Bala Krishna’s Sankranthi release Maharadhi. Guru Kiran is also a singer and he sang songs in Maharadhi and Lakshmi Kalyanam.

Missamma combination is back with Satyabhama
Sivaji and Bhumika Chawla who worked together for blockbuster Missamma are going to act in another comedy film titled ‘Satyabhama’ now. Lucky media that produced Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila is going to production. Gopi is producing this film in the direction of Srihari Nanu. Srihari worked with Krishna Vamsi in the past. Chakri composes music. Bhaskarabhatla is penning lyrics. Regular shooting will start from 5 February.

Rajitha blames it on D Rama Naidu
In the success meet function of Pellaina Kothalo, character actress Rajitha revealed that she wanted to become a heroine, but ended up as character actress. When she came to the industry, D Rama Naidu promised her a role of heroine in one of his projects. But Rajitha took a quick step of signing as ANR’s daughter in a film released at the time. D Rama Naidu said to have got angry about it and did not fulfill his promise though he gave innumerable roles for Rajitha as character actress in many of his films.

Doondy is no more
Veteran Telugu film producer Doondy who made many trend setting blockbusters like Gudachari 116 with Superstar Krishna in the past expired today evening at 5:35 pm at Queens Hospital in Vizag. He started his career as producer in 1956 with a dubbing film titled ‘Kondaveeti Donga’. His father Pothineni Srinivasa Rao constructed Maruti cinema, the first theater in AP. Doondy produced films like Manchi Rojulu, Sabhash Ramudu, Manchi Manasulu, Santhi Nivasam, Abhimanam, Rakta Sambhandam, etc. Doondy’s body will be cremated in Vizag. May his soul rest in peace.

The family members of Pawan Kalyan and Nagababu watched the special preview of Annavaram held at the preview theater of Prasad Labs at 8:30 pm on the night of 28th December. Annavaram 19 shows in Prasads
Prasads multiplex is going to screen 19 shows of Annavaram on single day on 29th December. This is the highest number of shows ever screened for any film in Prasads. This is also a multiplex record. Sainikudu, Stalin and Dhoom 2 were screened for 18, 16 and 12 shows respective on the respective release days. Our sources at Prasads confirm that over 10,000 tickets have been sold in Prasads so far by the afternoon of 28 December. Pawan Kalyan’s Annavaram is releasing on 29 December.

Raja Sekhar is going to be one of the contestants in Sankranthi 2007 race. His film Evaraithe Nakenti will be released on 14th January 2007. This film is the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Lion. Samvrita plays female lead. Samudra directs this film. Rajasekhar involved himself in script work of this film. Athili Sathibabu from 1 Jan
After tasting success with his son Naresh through Kithakithalu, EVV is coming again with another comedy film titled Athili Sathibabu LKG. Sri Krishna will make his debut as director with this film. This film will feature a popular comedian in the lead role and deals with the comic outlook of how real estate boom has changed the lives of people living below poverty line.

Yogi audio in Chow Mohalla Palace
Chow Mohalla Palace, built in 1750 holds a special place in the history of Hyderabad. It is situated near Charminar. For the first time, this historic place will be the venue for a film function. The audio of Yogi will be launched in Chow Mohalla Palace on the night of 15th December in the presence of distinguished film and political personalities. Prabhas and Nayana Tara are playing the main lead in this VV Vinayak directed film. P Ravindranath Reddy – the mayor of Cuddapah and brother-in-law of YSR – is making his debut as producer with this film by establishing the Eeswari banner. Ramana Gogula provides the musical score, VV Vinayak directs the film and Sameer Reddy handles the cinematography.

Rambha’s item song in Desa Muduru
After shaking a leg with Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, it is Rambha’s turn now to tango with Allu Arjun. She is currently doing an item song for Desa Muduru. Srikanth tonsures head for a role
Hero Srikanth has tonsured his head for a role in ‘Operation Duryodhana’. Posani Krishna Murali directs this political film. The title is the code name of an undercover Tehalka type operation in which members of Parliament were exposed on tape while taking bribes. The overseas prints are being dispatched 2 days in advance. With big films having tough release in the last minutes, it is nice to see Ravi Teja’s flick Khatarnak gearing up for a smooth release.

Ravi Teja has undergone through appendicitis operation in Global Hospital on friday night. He was admitted in hospital yesterday when he complained about stomachache. Regular shooting of Bala Krishna's Okka Magadu will start on 14th December 2006. Bala Krishna and Simran are going to have new get-ups for this film. Nisha Kothari and Anushka are playing female leads. Mani Sharma composes music for YVS Chowdary's film for the first time. This film is going to be produced under YVS Chowdary's Bommarillu Vari banner. Okka Magadu will be ready for release in the summer of '07.

Dubai Seenu from 11 December
Ravi Teja's next venture Dubai Seenu will be launched on 11th of December. Seenu Vytla is directing this film after delivering Venky with Ravi Teja in the past. Nayana Tara will play the female lead. This film will also be released in the summer of 2007.

Yogi audio on 15 December
Audio of Prabhas’s Pongal release Yogi will be released on 15th of this month. Nayana Tara is doing female lead in this Telugu remake of Kannada blockbuster Yogi. VV Vinayak directs this film. Ramana Gogula composes music. Sameer Reddy handles cinematography. This film will be released for Sankranthi ‘07

Ram Charan Teja is not Kanthri
When Vaishno Academy registered the title Kanthri in AP Film Chamber of Commerce, there were speculations that the launching film of Ram Charan Teja will be Kanthri. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, the storyline for this film is given by Mehar Ramesh who is expected to make his debut as director in Telugu through Vaishno academy. A hot youth star is expected to do this film.

Videocon sponsors Rakhi
Corporate sponsorships have become the in thing in Telugu film industry. Corporate companies give some money to the producer under agreement that their brand should be featured along with print/poster publicity of the film. Videocon has paid a handsome amount to sponsor the publicity of NTR – Krishna Vamsi's latest film Rakhi. Audio of this film will be released on 7th December and the film on 22nd December.

Lakshmi Kalyanam on 25 January
Shooting of Teja's latest film with Kalyan Ram as hero 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' is complete now. Kajol and Suhasini are playing female leads in this village love story. RP Patnaik composed 8 songs for this film. Audio is expected to release on 5th of January. Producer Jeethu is planning to release the movie on 25th of January 2007.

Meera Chopra goes to court
Meera Chopra (Bangaram fame) got a stay order against the release of the film 'Satyam Sivam Sundaram' (Nitin) because the producer did not pay the remuneration in full. The court has given an order to the producer to give a surety that he would pay 12 lakhs to Meera as remuneration failing to which the court is going to confiscate spools of the film. The next hearing will take place on 12th December. The court has also asked the producer not to release the film before 12th December. Satyam Sivam Sundaram is slated for 8th December release. The producer has postponed the release after the court order.

Zee Telugu is going on a satellite rights buying spree in the last couple of month. It bagged almost all Telugu releases that are slated for December/January. As per the source of idlebrain.com, the list includes Bommarillu, Rakhi, Annavaram, Sainikudu, Yogi, Munna, Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule and many more.

Two sister senti films in a week’s gap
Two of the big mass stars of Telugu cinema are coming up with sister sentiment films in December. Pawan Kalyan’s Annavaram and NTR’s Rakhi are slated for the release on 29th December and 22nd December respectively. Annavaram literally translates into English as ‘Brother’s gift’ and Rakhi is a symbol of relationship between brother and sister. Krishna Vamsi is said to be addressing a burning social issue with Rakhi. Bheemineni is directing the Telugu remake Annavaram after a gap of almost a decade with Pawan Kalyan.

Ileana has two films in a week’s gap
Long-legged beauty and the lucky mascot of Telugu cinema Ileana who has two blockbusters (Devadas and Pokiri) to her credit is all set to entertain the crowds with two released in a gap of a week in this month. Mamata Mohandas (Pokiri Pilla heroine) and Kajol (Lakshmi Kalyanam heroine) are going to play female leads in SS Rajamouli’s Yama Donga featuring NTR as hero. Three sizzling heroines are going to make an eye feast in the roles of Rambha, Menaka and Urvasi. Mohan Babu plays Yama role. Ravi Teja’s latest film Khatarnak is all set to release on 14th of December. This film has long legged lucky heroine Ileana playing female lead. Choreographer turned director Amma Rajasekhar is directing this film. Prasad who produced Chatrapati produces this film. Keeravani composed music.

Mohit Ahlawat replaced in Sholay
Mohit Ahlawat (a find of Ram Gopal Varma) is dropped from Ramu’s remake of Sholay. Raj – a Mumbai based model – is replacing Mohit for Jai role in Sholay. Ajay Devgan is doing the role of Veeru. Amitab Bachchan is doing Gabbar Singh. Incidentally Mohit is ousted from the project after 40% of the shoot is completed.

Prabhu Deva to direct Chiranjeevi?
As per the latest rumors going around in Hyderabad, Prabhu Deva is being considered as the director for Telugu remake of Hindi blockbuster Lage Raho Munna Bhai. This film is going to be remade in Telugu as Shankar Dada Zindabad with Chiranjeevi as hero. Vidya Balan is expected to play the female lead. A high profile hero is expected to do the role of ATM (circuit) in this film.

Annavaram shoot almost complete
The shooting of Pawan Kalyan’s Annavaram film is almost complete except for a couple of songs. A song is being canned at present in Hyderabad. Audio of this film will be released in the first week of December. Movie will hit the marquee on 29th December 2006.

Mohan Babu good will gesture
Mohan Babu appreciated the little Hyderabad cricketers B Manoj Kumar and Mohammed Shaibaaz Tumbi who broke the Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli record with their 721 runs. Mohan Babu offered free education and aide to these two youngsters at his college Sree Vidya Niketan. Right now these youngsters are studying 8th class. Mohan Babu offered educational aide in for these youngsters. Incidentally Mohan Babu worked as physical director before venturing into the films.

Yogi song in Egypt
The unit of Yogi has already shot a couple of songs in Canada. Now the unit will be traveling to Egypt to shoot another song from 1st onwards on Prabhas and Nayana Tara. Another song will be shot in Hyderabad in the next month. This film is directed by VV Vinayak. And this film is a remake of Kannada blockbuster Jogi. Ramana Gogula provides music. P Ravindranath Reddy (Kadapa Mayor) is producing this film on Eeswari banner. This film will be released on 9th of January 2007.

Desa Muduru on 12th January
Puri Jagan’s latest film Desa Muduru with Allu Arjun as hero will be releasing on 12th of January 2007 as Sankranthi special. Hansika Motwani is making her debut as heroine with this film. Chakri composes music. Bhagawan and Danayya produce this film.

Dil Raju’s future projects
Dil Raju is planning to produce two films. His next film in the direction of Bhaskar (Bommarillu fame) will start in June 2007. He will be introducing another talent called Raj Kumar in Telugu in the March of next year. The cast and crew details will be revealed later.

Maya Bazaar on 1st December
The release of Mohana Krishna Indraganti’s film Maya Bazaar with Raja and Bhumika in the main leads is shifted from 23rd November to 1st December. This release is postponed due to a couple of censor objections which could be resolved using graphics work. The movie is postponed because this graphics work will take a few days.

Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw – directed by Nidhi Prasad is running with successful talk. Rajendra Prasad celebrated this occasion by sending a sweets packet and personalized thank you letter to all the team members of Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw. Deepa back as Poonam Kaur
Poonam Kaur who won Miss Andhra crown last year had to change her name to Deepa on the suggestion of numerologist. But she could not get any commercial success as her films tumbled at box office. Now she rechristened her name as Poonam Kaur and acting in a Tamil film. Now she wants to be referred as Poonam Kaur. Let us hope that change of screen name would fetch good luck to her.

Swayam Krushi kid turns hero
Arjun who acted as child artist in films like Swayam Krushi, Pachani Kapuram, Bhale Tammudu etc is making his debut as hero in a film titled ‘Bhale Kurradu’. Devi Sri Prasad will be scoring music for the first time for a Pawan Kalyan’s film. Director Trivikram seems to believe in changing his music directors frequently. His first film Nuvve Nuvve had musical score by Koti. Mani Sharma gave superb songs in his second film Athadu. Now Devi Sri Prasad will score for Trivikram’s third directorial venture. This film will go to the floors in the second week of December.

Arti Agarwal back to studies
Arti Agarwal is going back to school. She has taken up an Organizational Business Management course in Mumbai. She is planning to complete the course and then continue with films. Her latest film Andala Ramudu was a big hit proving that Arti Agarwal is still a lucky mascot for Telugu film producers.

Casino Royale release delayed in Hyderabad
Talk about the effects of dubbing films! The Hollywood movie lovers in Hyderabad have to wait until 1 December to watch the latest James Bond flick Casino Royale. This is to facilitate the released of its Telugu dubbed version ‘Prapanchaniki Okkadu’ simultaneously. This Telugu version was released in 21 best theaters of Hyderabad (including Sudarshan 35 and PVR) today. It is a record number for any English dubbing film.

Supreme music has bought the audio rights of Krishna Vamsi – NTR combination film Rakhi. Supreme Music is planning to give a free Rakhi along with Rakhi audiocassette as symbolic gesture. Ileana is playing female lead. KL Narayana produces this film on Sri Durga Arts banner. Devi Sri Prasad composed music. Audio of this film will be released in this month. Rakhi is all set to hit the marquee on 22nd of December.

Writer Chinni Krishna who penned story for three blockbusters Narasimha Naidu, Indra and Gangotri is going to play a new role altogether in the future. Now he is into real estate. He is starting a software company called CKIT Solutions (Chinni Krishna Information Technology solutions). This office will be inaugurated tomorrow.

Guhan is going to handle the latest version of Panavision motion picture camera for Pawan Kalyan’s latest film to be produced by Allu Arvind on Geeta Arts banner. Trivikram and Guhan are scouting for shooting locations in and around Hyderabad for this film. This film will go to floors very soon.

Shriya item song in Munna
With an exclusive contract with AVM banner for Rajnikanth’s Sivaji, Shriya is not allowed act in full length roles in any other film. With Shivaji slated for next summer’s release, Shriya is doing special roles at present. She did an item song in Devadasu film. She also did special role in Nagarjuna’s Boss. At present she is doing an item song with Prabhas for Dil Raju’s film Munna. Raju Sundaram is choreographing this song.

BLBD and Gopi on 16 November
This week is going to witness to two comedy flicks – Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw and Gopi (Godameda Pilli). Bhagyalakshmi Bumper Draw is a remake of Hindi blockbuster Malamal Weekly. Nidhi Prasad directs this film and almost all comedians feature in important roles including Rajendra Prasad. Gopi is a comedy film with fantasy subject. AARISCAN for Sainikudu
Sainikudu is going to be the first Telugu film that uses ARRISCAN for postproduction work. ARRISCAN is the latest product that enables high quality digital scanning, grading and color correction of films. Spirit – the special effects department of Rama Naidu studios – bought this ARRISCAN. ARRISCAN was used for Hollywood films like Lords of the Rings. The technician who worked for various blockbuster Hollywood flicks is doing DI (Digital Intermediate) for Sainikudu film. The duration of this DI is 30 days.

Srihari to join Congress
Hero Srihari is all set to join Congress party in a couple of days. He recently announced the same to the media. Srihari is a loyal protégé of Dasari Narayana Rao. It was Dasari who introduced Srihari as an actor. It is learnt that Dasari invited Srihari to join Congress.

Srikanth’s Operation Duryodhana
Srikanth’s latest film in the direction of writer Posani Krishna Murali is titled as ‘Operation Duryodhana’. This is the code name of an undercover Tehalka operation in which members of parliament were exposed on tape while taking bribes. Kalyani is doing female lead in this film. Latest Panavision camera for Pawan Kalyan’s film
Panavision Company has recently come up with the latest version of motion picture 35mm camera. Prasad Productions (Mumbai) is Indian distributor of the camera. It is reliably learnt that Geeta Arts has booked this latest camera for their film with Pawan Kalyan as hero in the direction of Trivikram. Incidentally, this film will be first Telugu film to be shot with this latest camera that offers 180 degree shutter, crystal speed control and easy Super 35 conversion.

Puri Jagan starts an editing suite
Puri Jagan thinks beyond direction. He is always inclined in technical aspects and he has a shrewd producer in him. Puri Jagan bought his own ARRI3 camera a couple of years back. And that camera is being used for most of the films directed by him. Now he added his own editing suite. Desa Muduru is being edited using this suite. A good director should have good understanding of editing and the latest addition of editing suite only confirms it.

Sai Kumar’s Police Story 2
The team which produced Sai Kumar’s big hit Police Story in 1996 is back to create another cop story after a gap of a decade. This film is titled as ‘Police Story 2’. Sai Kumar played the role of Agni in Police Story. This Police Story 2 is coming with the tagline ‘Agni is back’. This film is being produced in Telugu and Kannada. Thriller Manju directs this film. Audio CD of Maharadhi was launched today in the market. Dayanand of Aditya Music said that there is tremendous response for the mass song written on Balakrishna. The classical song which is written by adapting first line of Venkateswara Suprabhatam is going to be the highlight. The platinum disc function will be held very soon. Bala Krishna is currently in USA and he will be returning from USA on 15th of this month. The film release date will be announced after Bala Krishna returns from USA. Maharadhi is going to a complete family entertainer.

AB’s 7 minute intro in Sholay
Ram Gopal Varma recently canned the dramatic entry scene of Amitabh Bachchan playing Gabbar Singh in the remake of Sholay. The duration of this introduction episode is said to be seven minutes. Ajay Devgan, Mohit Ahlawat, Nisha Kothari and Sushmita Sen play the main leads. Mohanlal plays the Thakur’s role. Urmila will do the item song ‘Mehabooba’.

Film financiers prefer real estate
 Earlier on, film financiers used to extract huge sums of money as interest from the producer. But thanks to the real estate boom in Hyderabad, film financiers are diverting all their funds into real estate where they are making profits several times over compared to what they made by financing films. As for the producers they are laughing all the way to the bank. There are just a handful of producers now who are still trying to make films.

Jayam Ravi in straight Telugu film
Jayam Ravi – son of Editor Mohan – has established himself as a good hero in Tamil with a series of successful Tamil remakes of Telugu blockbusters. Raja – elder son of Editor Mohan – too migrated to the Tamil film industry after making his debut in Telugu with hit film Hanuman Junction. Now both these brothers are returning to their native land to do a Telugu film. Maharadhi audio on 4th November
Audio of Bala Krishna’s latest film Maharadhi will be directly released in the market on 4th of November. Popular Kanna music director Guru Kiran scored music for this film. Sneha, Meera Jasmine and Navaneet Kaur played female roles. Jayaprada is doing to a vital character in this film. P Vasu (Chandramukhi fame) directed it. Maharadhi film will be released in the latter half of November.

Kamalinee in Classmates
Kamalinee is doing Telugu films very selectively and she is very keen on selecting good script. She signed on the dotted line for special character in Sravanthi Ravi Kishore’s next film with Sumanth as hero. Sada is playing female lead. Sharvanand, Ravi Varma and Sunil play three vital roles. This film is remake of Malayalam industry hit Classmates. This film collected 9 crores in 50 days, which is highest amount collected by any Malayalam film so far. Vijaya Bhaskar directed this Telugu remake. Incidentally it was Sravanthi Ravi Kishore and Vijaya Bhaskar combination that did huge blockbuster ‘Nuvve Kavali’.

AR Rehman’s album for UN
United Nations (UN) asked AR Rehman to compose a music album to drive people to eradicate poverty. Rehman would be doing this album very soon. He is currently working for Mani Ratnam’s Guru and Shankar-Rajnikanth’s Sivaji films. He is also scoring music for Hollywood films – Warriors of the heaven and earth & Golden age Elizabeth.

Vivah in Telugu as Parinayam
Rajashri banner’s latest film Vivah will be dubbed and simultaneously released in telugu as Parinayam. Suraj Barjatya directed this film. Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao play main leads. Ravindra Jain penned lyrics and composed music for this film.
