Athreya award to Chandrabose
Prolific Telugu film lyricist Chandrabose is selected for the Athreya award to be presented this year. Sirivennela Seeta Rama Sastry won this award for the last year. This award will be presented to Chandrabose on 4th May at Mega City Kala Vedika. This function will be graced by K Raghavendra Rao, MM Keeravani, VV Vinayak, SV Krishna Reddy and Achi Reddy. Suddala Ashok Teja will preside over the event.

7GBC in Hindi
Selva Raghavan who created sensation with his intense film 7G Brindavan colony a couple of years back is all set to enter Hindi film industry. He will be directing the remake of 7GBC in Hindi. This film will go to floors in May. After this film, Selva Raghavan will direct a Tamil film starring Karthik (brother of hero Surya).

3 film releases this week
This week is witnessing 3 releases. On 2nd, Dil Raju - Prabhas’s film Munna will be hitting the screen with highest number of prints. In Hyderabad alone this film is releasing in 34 theaters. Srihari’s Malayalam remake ‘Sri Mahalakshmi’ will release on 4 May. Spiderman - 3 will be releasing on 4th of this month in three languages (English, Hindi and Telugu) in AP.

Puri Jagan throws a party
Mahesh Babu - Puri Jagan’s Pokiri completed 365 days on 26th of April 2007. It became the number one film in the history of Telugu cinema by breaking all possible records. The director Puri Jagan who made it all possible threw a party on the night of 28 April to cast and crewmembers. Mahesh Babu attended this one. NTR, Surender Reddy and Rajamouli were also invited.

Vinayak - Ravi Teja combo film
If the rumors of Film Nagar are to be believed VV Vinayak’s next film will sport Ravi Teja as hero. VV Vinayak is also likely to make his debut as producer with this film. The script work is currently going on. The movie will be launched very soon.

Pulakesi dubbed into Telugu
Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi which is produced by Shankar in Tamil became a huge blockbuster. This film sports comedy star Vadivelu in the hero’s role. Mega Super Good banner has bought the Telugu rights of this film and is releasing the dubbed version with the title ‘Himsaraju 23va Pulakesi’. This film is directed by the debutant Simbudevan. NV Prasad and Paras Jain are the producers of Telugu version. This film will hit the marquee after Rajnikant’s Sivaji release.

Ultra slim NTR
NTR (photo) surprised everybody today evening when he made guest appearance for the audio launch of Manoj’s Munna Bhai. He has shed lots of weight and is looking unbelievably slim. NTR did not have any solid hit after Rajamouli’s Simhadri and he is pinning all his hopes on Rajamouli’s next film Yama Donga. Mohan Babu who played the role of lord Yama in Yama Donga said that the film will run for 25 weeks.

Sunil sings a song
Comedy actor turned hero Sunil is all set to appear in the new avatar of a singer. He sang a song in Manoj’s latest film Raju Bhai. This song is canned on him. His role in recently released Dhee got him very good applause.

Bhaskar bags Dasari award
Dasari award is being given for the best debut directors every year. Last year Mohan Krishna Indraganti bagged it for Grahanam film. This year Bommarillu director Bhaskar got selected. He will received a cash prize of 1 lakh and a commendation form on 4th May which happen to be Dasari’s birthday. Dasari will felicitate 142 movie directors from CV Ranganadh (Daasi film, - 1952) to Hemanth Puvvada (Prem - 2007). Vamsi international cultural organization has announced 4th May (Dasari’s birthday) as ‘Film Directors Day’.

Ravi Babu to direct Bhumika
After dabbling with comedy subjects Allari, Ammailu Abbailu and Party, Allari Ravi Babu is going for a feminist subject this time. This heroine oriented film will cast specialist heroine Bhumika Chawla who is always looking out for heroine oriented subjects like Missamma, Maya Bazaar, Satyabhama etc. Allari Ravi also produces this film on his ‘Flying Frogs’ banner. D Suresh Babu presents this film. This film will be launched in June.

D Rama Naidu’s Bhale Jodi
D Rama Naidu is going to produce a comedy film titled ‘Bhale Jodi’ in the direction of Muppalaneni Siva. This film features Rajendra Prasad and Venu. Kingfisher is sponsoring the vinyl hoardings of Prabhas’s forthcoming film Munna. Munna is slated for worldwide release in the first week of May. Kingfisher girl in Chiranjeevi's SDZ
Karishma Kotak who shot to fame with her modeling assignment for Kingfisher’s prestigious calendar is confirmed as heroine in Chiranjeevi’s latest film Shankar Dada Zindabad. She is a 23 year old British Indian who acted in many commercial ads like Liril, Limca and Close Up. She will enter the sets of Shankar Dada Zindabad on 26 of this month. The director has shot all the part that does not include heroine so far. They recently shot a marriage scene in Annapurna studios on Pawan Kalyan (Abhishek Bachchan in Hindi) and Sada. Shooting of the film is going on at a brisk pace. Gemini Film Circuit is producing this film in the direction of Prabhudeva.

Munna postponed to 2 May
The release of Prabhas’s latest film Munna is postponed to 2 May from 27 April. Ileana is doing female lead. Harris Jayaraj composes music. Gummadi acts after 10 years of gap

CC Reddy held a press meet today refute the allegations made on him by Andhra Jyothy news paper in an article published on 23 April. He said that he will be launching a political monthly magazine titled Maa Bhoomi in June. Baby Zeeba who acted as child artist in films like Manasantha Nuvve (Tooniga Tooniga song fame) and Ela Cheppanu is going to maker her debut as heroine with a film to be directed by Bapu. Her actual name is Suhani. After screen testing many new comers and established actresses, Bapu has zeroed on Suhani. Anil who produced Bapu’s earlier classic film ‘Radha Gopalam’ is going to produce this film. Return crowds for Dhee in NJ
The response for Dhee film in USA has been terrific. The shows in New Jersey were houseful on Satuday and lots of crowds returned without watching the film. By keeping the demand in mind, the exhibitor has added few more shows Movie City Edison Cinemas in New Jersey. Dhee is the first Telugu film in USA this year to get these kinds of openings.

Dubai Seenu audio on May 1st week
Shooting of Ravi Teja’s latest film Dubai Seenu is completed except for the climax. Seenu Vytla who gave the surprise hit Dhee directed this film. Audio will be released in the first week of May. AMAV advanced to 27 April
Release day of Venkatesh’s latest film Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule is advanced by a day to 27 April. The main reason of shifting the release date is said to be the postponement of a film which is expected to be released on 27 April. Trisha played female lead. Yuan Shankar Raja scored music. Sri Raghava (7G Brindavan Colony) directed this film. The USA release will also happened on 27 April in sync with Andhra release.

Two labels tie up for Aata audio
For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, two music labels have joined hands together to launch and promote the audio of a Telugu film. Aditya music and Maruthi music will jointly be releasing the audio of Aata on 27 April. Devi Sri Prasad - the music director in the form with his stupendous works for films like Bommarillu and Jagadam scored music for his mentor MS Raju’s film. VN Aditya directs this film which stars Siddhardha and Ileana in the main leads. MS Raju is planning to release the film on 9 May.

Caste color to Seema Sastry
Allari Naresh and Farzana are doing the roles of Sastry and Surekha Reddy in the comedy flick ‘Seema Sastry’. The main conflict of the film is about inter-caste marriage. G Nageswara Reddy is directing this film. Audio of the film is expected to be launched on 20 May. Seema Sastry will be released in the first half of June.

Supergood remake with Tarun
Tarun has taken a considerable gap after delivering few successive failures. He is making his comeback with a Tamil remake film titled ‘Punnagai Desam’ in Supergood banner. The producers of Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule (AMAV) and Munna are determined to release their films on 28 and 27 April respectively. These two films are expected to go for censoring on 23rd of this month. The music of these films has become moderately successful and the future depends on how these films fare at box office. Though the genres of these films are different, there bound to be a comparison when these two films will get released in the same week. Court stay on Dhee
The court has given a stay on Vishnu’s latest hit flick Dhee today for Nizam territory. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, the producer seems to have sold the film to more than one buyers for Nizam territory. It was Dasari’s Siri Media that officially bought the rights and released the film with maximum number of prints (in Vishnu’s career). It is not known whether the producer officially received and acknowledged the court notice or not. Trade pundits says that such a controversy like this will help Dhee getting free promotion through media coverage.

Hyderabad Nawabs’ FM
The team of Hyderabad Nawabs is producing another film titled FM (100% fun and masti). RK who produced Hyderabad Nawabs will produce this film too. This film will have RK and Aziz as male leads. Payal (Calcutta based actress who acted in Bengali remake of NVNV) and Nova (London) are playing female leads. Pundit Bhavani Shankar - a noted Tabla player composes music. Sekhar Surya is making his debut as direction. 70% of the shooting is complete so far.

Sumanth Ashwin (MS Raju's son) debut on 9 May?
Sumanth Ashwin - son of popular producer MS Raju - is likely to make his debut in this year. MS Raju is going to produce the remake of Kannada blockbuster Mungara Male (which means Tholakari Jallu in Telugu). This film collected over 25 crores and stood as industry record in Karnataka. Sumanth Ashwin is likely to make his debut through the Telugu version of this Kannada film. This film will be launched on 9 May.

Mamata Mohan Das in Pawan’s film?

MS Raju to do remake
MS Raju has bought the Telugu remake rights of Kannada blockbuster Mungare Male. This film will be launched on 9 May. The hero, heroine and director of the film is yet to be finalized. He is going to produce this film in association with SPR Entertainments banner. Incidentally, MS Raju’s latest film is also releasing on 9 May. MS Raju has the habit of announcing new projects and doing pooja ceremony for his new films on his birthday 10 May. But this year, he is doing it in a day advance.

Samudra to direct Kalyanram
Samudra is going to direct Kalyanram’s next film. This film is remake of Tamil blockbuster Sivakasi that has Vijay doing the main lead. AM Ratnam produced the original. Shooting of Manchu Manoj Kumar’s latest film Rajubhai in the direction of Surya Kiran (Satyam fame) is currently going on in Hyderabad. Mahesh Babu in Dubai
The unit of Athidi traveled to Australia to shoot a couple of songs. But the weather condition got deteriorated after shooting a song. Hence the unit had to look out for an alternative location. The unit is currently in Dubai to shoot another song. The unit shot the song on Mahesh Babu and Amrita Rao in desert Sahara today. Tomorrow (10 April) they are going to shoot at Burj Al Arab - the world’s first seven star hotel. The unit will be back in Hyderabad by 14th of this month and the next schedule will resume on 16 April.

Siva Balaji’s Podarillu
Our filmmakers have the habit of titling films after recent hits. After the stupendous success of Pokiri we have seen several films title like Poramboku, Pokirodu, Pokiri pilla, pokiri brothers, Julai etc. Now there is a film that follows the naming convention of Bommarillu called Podarillu. Athili Sathibabu on 6 April
Censoring of Athili Sathibabu LKG is over and obtained a clean U certificate. EVV said that this is an out and out comedy flick with minimal dose of sentiment. He has taken 8 months to prepare this script. This film is expected to be the best film in Naresh career. Kausha and Vidisha are playing female lead. Athili Sathibabu is going to release on 6 April.

Kamalinee Mukherjee in EVV flick
EVV is going to direct the Telugu version of a film for which Bhagyaraja provides story. Raasi Movies Narasimha Rao is going to produce the film. Kamalinee Mukherjee plays the female lead. Manjula who presented last year’s industry hit Pokiri will be presenting this film as well. Mahesh Babu has two projects immediately lined up after Athidi film. Olammi Tikka Reginda is one of the most mesmerizing mass song of legend NTR from Yama Gola. That song is being remixed for Yama Donga film by MM Keeravani. With India quitting world cup early, the Telugu film producers are rescheduling the release dates. The release of AMAV is advanced from 9 May to 27 April. Audio of this film will be released on the night 28 March at a function arranged in Rama Naidu studios. Trisha plays female lead. Shooting of the film is almost complete. Yuan Shankar Raja composed music for the first time for a Venkatesh’s film. NV Prasad and Sanam Naga Ashok Kumar produce this film.

Sukumar to direct Prabhas?
Prabhas gave a commitment to Bhogavally Prasad during the time of Chatrapati that he would do another film for him. Sukumar took a token advance from Prasad long back. As per the latest buzz floating around in film nagar, Prabhas is going to act in Sukumar direction very soon. With Munna work being done, Prabhas is free now. Yamadonga sold for 1.85 crores on TV
Rajamouli - the invincible director who delivered all hits so far is directing a socio-fantasy flick with NTR as hero. This film created record in TV circles. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, the satellite rights for this film were sold for a record figure of 1.85 crores. With four major TV channels (E TV, Gemini TV, MAA TV and Zee Telugu) vying for all major releases, the competition is getting the best bargains for the producers. It is also learnt that E TV has grabbed the satellite rights of Jagadam a day before the release by paying 1.4 crores.

Shyam Benagal for Telangana
Telangana Samburalu are happening in Hyderabad from 23 March to 26 March. Shyam Benegal sent a congratulatory letter to KCR recently by stating that he belongs to Telangana and used to immensely enjoy Telangana Samburalu when he was in his youth. Jagadam 15 shows in Prasads
Sukumar - Ram’s combination film Jagadam is releasing with lot of expectations tomorrow. To meet up the demand, Prasads multiplex is screening 15 shows of Jagadam on 16 March. 13 shows are being screened in regular screen and two shows are being screened in IMAX screen. Jagadam is releasing with almost 200 prints all over the worlds on 16 March 2007.

Only Shankar knows Sivaji date

1.15 crore for Shankardada Zindabad audio
As per the unconfirmed news, the audio of Chiranjeevi’s latest film Shankar Dada Zindabad is being offered 1.15 crores by Aditya music. For a territory like Guntur, this film is sold for 90 lakhs and the distributor already managed to get 1 crore as share guarantee from the exhibitors. From the main theaters of Guntur, Tenali and Ongole together, Jagadam managed a share guarantee of 45 lakhs. For Krishna territory, this film is sold for 65 lakhs and is getting equivalent amount as share guarantees. Dil Raju is distributing this film for Nizam territory. This film is going for censoring on Monday (12 March). Jagadam will be releasing worldwide on 16 March.

JD Chakravathi (of Shiva and Gulabi fame) is all set to enter Telugu films after some gap. Jagadam film which was supposed to release on 25 January as per the announcement given by producer in their first press meet keeps postponing. Now the buck stops on the date 16 March. The latest news is that the film is all set to release on 16 March. Ram (Devadas fame) and Sukumar (Arya fame) are teaming up together for this film. Isha is making her debut as heroine. Music of Jagadam became a chartbuster.

Sairam Shankar’s film on 5 July
Sairam Shankar (brother of Puri Jagan) made his debut through 143 a couple of years back. After that he acted in Krishna Vamsi’s Danger. He has one film under production now. The stage is set for the shooting of Sekhar Kammula’s next venture Happy Days which deals about the city college days. He has selected new actors/actress from the advertisement given in fm (Big FM) and internet (idlebrain.com). He has selected CBIT (Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology) as the shooting location. Incidentally Sekhar Kammula is an alumnus of CBIT. The shooting of the film will start in a couple of days.

International film festival in Hyderabad
Hyderabad Film Club and Telugu film directors association are going to jointly organize an annual International Hyderabad Film Festival. This year film festival will start on 23rd March and end on 29th March. Around 100 critically acclaimed films from all around the world will be featured in this festival. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will officially launch this year’s film festival on 22nd March. Tammareddy Bharadwaja is overseeing the organization of the event.

Neha Julka in Uday Kiran’s film
Neha Julka, who acted as heroine in the latest release Okkadunnadu is signed as heroine for Uday Kiran’s latest straight Telugu project ‘Viyyalavari Kayyalu’. Ravi Teja’s triple action
Ravi Teja who managed a blockbuster Vikramarkudu by doing two roles is all set to do a triple action film. This film is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Varalar (Godfather). Ajith played the lead role in Tamil version. Ravi Teja will be donning three completely different roles (father and two sons) in this film. Sada in Shankar Dada Zindabad
Actress Sada is acting in Shankar Dada Zindabad not as a heroine, but in an important character. This character is played by Diya Mirza in Hindi version (LRMB). However, the main heroine of the film is yet to be selected and the scenes that does not involving heroine are being canned now. Chiranjeevi and Srikanth play the characters of Shankar Dada and ATM respectively. Sayaji Shinde is the villain. Pawan Kalyan will do a guest role.

Budget impact on films
The budget for the fiscal year 2007-08 is going to have mixed impact on film industry. The good news is that some sops are going to be given to digital cinema development projects as they have been notified under Project Import Scheme, under the heading 98.01. The bad news is that service tax of 12.24 percent will be levied on all commercial rental spaces. This regulation is going to impact the exhibitors and the contractors who take film theaters on lease. The animation industry expected some sops this year, but Finance Minister maintained status quo regarding this issue. Hence budget impact on animation industry is neutral.

Okkadunnadu in USA on 9 March
As there is a chance of USA prints getting delayed for this weekend, producer Cherry has decided to release Okkadunnadu in USA and other countries on 9 March. This film is releasing in India on 3rd March with over 160 prints. Chandra Sekhar Yeleti directed this Gopichand starrer.

Bapu to direct a film soon
Arrangements are underway for next venture of classic Telugu director Bapu. His last film ‘Radha Gopalam’ fetched minimum guarantee returns to the buyers. Bapu has been screening various girls for the role of heroine and he has not found the right one so far. The movie is expected to be launched as soon as he finds the next ‘bapu bomma’.

Yalamanchi Ravichand who produced Seetaramudu with Sivaji as hero in the past is going to produce another film with Sivaji as hero in the direction of debutant SS Vikram Gandhi. This film is a remake of Tamil hit film Ediri. Madhu Shalini and Mallika Kapoor play female leads. Srilekha composes music and Bhaskarabhatla pens lyrics. Ramesh Gopi provide dialogues. Regular shooting of the film will start in March 2007 and will be released in summer.

Srikanth’s sacrifice for Operation Duryodhana
Srikanth is the kind of actor who would be doing 2-3 films simultaneous in any year. After listening to the script of Operation Duryodhana by Posani Krishna Murali, Srikanth has decided to stall all other projects and dedicate 3-4 months exclusive for Operation Duryodhana. He tonsured his head to don two different get-ups as police officer and politician. Kalyani is playing female lead as wife of Srikanth. Item girl Mumaith Khan acts as a politician in this film. Gopichand’s Okkadunnadu will be releasing with 160 prints all over the world. The release date is shifted from 2nd to 3rd March as the graphics work that is being done in three companies (Prime Focus, Pixelloid & E Fx) simultaneously got a bit delayed. Incidentally 160 prints is the highest number in the career of Gopichand. This film is releasing in 26 theaters in Hyderabad city alone. In USA, this film is releasing with six prints.

Rajasekhar to do Peddayana
Rajasekhar’s latest film Evadaithe Nakenti is running with hit talk. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Rajasekhar is contemplating on doing the Telugu remake of Tamil hit flick Ayya. The dubbed version of this film ‘Maa Daivam Peddayana’ is due for the release now. But the release got stalled as there are thick chances of Rajasekhar doing the remake of this film. Mahesh Babu’s upcoming movie Athidi completed its first schedule in New Delhi and surroundings.  G Ramesh Babu is producing Athidi on his prestigious Krishna Productions Pvt LTD (KPPL) banner and Amrita Rao is signed as heroine for this movie. Surender Reddy is directing this movie. Few scenes between Mahesh and Amrita Rao were shot at Shipra mall of Ghiaziabad in Delhi Suburbs. A fight sequence and some chase episodes were shot at India Gate and Red fort in New Delhi. Stunt Siva choreographed the action sequences.

Okkadunnadu obtains A certificate
Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s latest film Okkadunnadu got censored today and got an A certificate. This film is all set for the worldwide release on 2nd March 2007. Gopichand and Neha Julka play main leads. Mahesh Manjrekar (Bollywood director and actor) played a negative role in this film. This film has the backdrop of Bombay. This song was shot on Naresh and Farzana in a set erected in Ramoji Film City.

Okkadunnadu on 1st March
Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s latest film Okkadunnadu is all set to release worldwide on 1st of March 2007. The post production work of this film is almost over. This film is an action based film set up against Mumbai backdrop. Producer Cheri informs that the story has a thread that is related to blood groups. Chandra Sekhar Yeleti’s Aithe and Anukokunda Oka Roju got tremendous applause from the class audiences in the past. This time he is making a mass action flick with Gopichand as hero.

World cup to disturb summer releases
With cricket world cup 2007 starting on 13 March and ending on 28 April, the Telugu filmmakers are wary of releasing their films in this season. The world cup cricket is going to last for 45 days. The major films releasing in the next two months are Okkadunnadu, Jagadam, Munna, Shivaji and Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule. We have to wait and see what kind of affect cricket world cup will show on Telugu films.

Vanaja wins Golden Bear at Berlin
Hyderabad based NRI Rajnesh Domalpalli’s debut film Vanaja won Best First Feature Award 2007 (Golden Bear) at Berlin Film Festival this year. This award consists of a Golden Bear prize and a cash prize of 50,000 euros (shared by producer and director). Vanaja film deals with a 14 year old poor girl who wants to become a classical dancer. This film also deals with sex abuse. Rajnesh wrote this script as a part of his thesis submission in Columbia University in the year 2001.

Raghupati Award to MS Reddy
The Government of Andhra Pradesh announced the prestigious Raghupati Venkayya award for the year 2005 to the veteran producer and poet MS Reddy. He will be honored with a medal, a gold Nandi and a cash prize of 50,000 rupees. MS Reddy was born on 15 August, 1924 in Alimili near Nellore. He started his career as a producer in 1966 with a dubbing film titled Kannepilla. His portrayal of chief minister character is Ankusam brought him lot of appreciation. His son Shyam Prasad Reddy produced many memorable films like Ankusam, Ahuti, Ammoru etc.

Blank cheque to Yama Donga
As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Janapriya distributors of Vizag territory have given a blank cheque to the producers of Yamadonga seeking for the rights of Vizag. This incident created sensation in Vizag distribution circles. However, the producers of Yamadonga have duly returned the cheque and requested the distributor to wait till the time of bidding at a later point of time.Yamadonga - starring NTR and Mohan Babu - is in great demand as its director SS Rajamouli delivered only hits so far.

Manoj as Raju Bhai
Manoj’s latest film in the direction of Surya Kiran (Satyam fame) is titled as Raju Bhai. Mohan Babu produces this film on Sri Lakshmi Prasanna banner. Shiela is doing female lead. Shooting of the film is currently going on in Vizag and the next schedule will start in Hyderabad on 22nd February. Yuan Shankar Raja composes music. Allegations on Chinni Krishna
Popular script writer Chinni Krishna (Narasimha Naidu, Gangotri & Indra fame) got himself into a controversy because a junior artist named Tara Chowdary accused on siphoning 5lakhs (3 lakhs in cash and 2 lakhs in gold) her money by promising her a film chance. Chinni Krishna lodged a police complaint against Tara Chowdary for trespassing into his house. Chinni Krishna told media that a small time producer with whom he has dispute over a land issue, is behind this mud-slinging exercise. The cops clarified that Tara Chowdary was booked under prostitution in the past and she did not lodge any complaint and went to media to tell her version.

Dispute over Sivaji Telugu rights
Bellamkonda Suresh recently announced that he bought the Telugu dubbing rights of Rajnikanth’s latest film Sivaji in the direction of Shankar. With in two days of this announcement, NV Prasad (producer, distributor and exhibitor) gave a newspaper advertisement saying that he holds the rights of Telugu version. We have to wait and see who actually has Telugu version rights.

Kona Venkat to direct Madhavan
Writer Kona Venkat is all set to direct a bilingual (Telugu and Tamil) with Madhavan as hero. Ad Labs (of Reliance Group) is going to produce this film. Sriya Reddy and Shamita Shetty (sister of Shilpa Shetty) will be playing female leads. This film is expected to be launched in the month of March.

Okkadunnadu audio in Durgam Cheruvu
Audio of Gopichand’s latest film Okkadunnadu will be releasing on 10th February at a function organized in Durgam Cheruvu. Ravi Teja, NTR and Prabhas are expected to grace this function as guests. Sumanth in Bengali Babu get up
Actor Sumanth has grown French beard for his role in Classmates film. His get up for certain part of that film closely resembles that of literary scholars of West Bengal. His get up constitutes of a French beard, spectacles and kurtha. Most of the talkie part of Classmates is completed by now. Classmates is due for the release on 20 April 2007.

Its previews time for Prasads
Prasad labs as well as Prasads multiplex is in big demand these days. Whenever a Telugu film releases, the producers have to do lot of convincing at Prasads Multiplex to get more number of shows. Likewise, Prasad Labs too would be preoccupied for preview shows a couple of days before release. Today the preview theater of Prasad labs is completely booked for 4 shows. Anumanaspadam, Police Story 2 and Madhumasam were screened for the unit members 1 show, 1 show and 3 shows respectively.

The Angrez 2 announced
The Angrez film was a big success. And the makers are planning Angrez 2 now. The shooting will start on 20th of this month and movie will be released in April. Angrez 2 is expected to have much more comedy than part 1. Anand Reddy and Srikanth Naidu produce this film. Kunta Nikhil who directed the original will also direct the sequel. Most of the actors of original will also be there in sequel.

4 releases this week
This week is going to witness releases of four Telugu films in weekend. On Friday we have Madhumasam (Sumanth - Chandra Siddharth), Anumanaspadam (Vamsi - Ilayaraja) and Evadaithe Nakenti (Rajasekhar). On 10th February, we have the bilingual film Police Story 2 (Sai Kumar).

Krishna Vamsi to direct ‘The Legend' (is not a celebrity)
Krishna Vamsi is going to direct a film titled ‘The Legend’ with the tagline ‘is not a celebrity’. This title was registered by Cherry (Clap Entertainment) in AP Film Chamber of Commerce recently. With Mohan Babu questioning the qualification and status of the legend in recently concluded Telugu cinema vajrostavalu, there is lot of controversy behind the words Legend and Celebrity. This film will go to floors on June. Cherry is currently producing Okkadunnadu and Yama Donga. Shooting of Legend will start after the completion of Yamadonga film.

Okkadunnadu on 23 February
Gopichand’s latest film Okkadunnadu will be releasing on 23rd of February all over the world. The music will be launched on 10th February. The unit recently completed shooting a song in Dubai. Chandra Sekhar Yeleti directs this film. MM Keeravani scores music. Cherry makes his debut as producer with this film. He will also be distributing the film on his own in USA. The business is already closed for major centers of USA.

Chandrahas in April
Haranath Policherla’s latest film Chandrahas is all set to release in the month of April. Astha Singhal plays female lead. Superstar Krishna dons the role of Chatrapati Sivaji in this film. Shivashakti Dutta (father of Keeravani) makes his debut as director. This film deals with the magnificent sword of Sivaji. Climax of this film will be shot in Maharashtra.

A variety title ‘Ap9 2007’
Titling a film is the most strategic step towards marketing any film. A new producer has titled his Telugu film as ‘Ap9 2007’, which denotes the number plate of a vehicle. This film introduces Suraj Kumar and Renu Chehal in the main leads. This film will be formally launched tomorrow.

Rama Naidu rejects TDP
Rama Naidu rejected the membership in TDP quoting health reasons. He also categorically stated that he will not be contesting elections in the future. He evinced interest over helping the people and society through his charitable trust. Right now Rama Naidu is not keen in being associated with any of the political parties.

Jeevitha also directs Evadaithe Nakenti
As the release day approached, the name on the director card is changed from Samudra to ‘Samudra & Jeevitha Rajasekhar’ for the film Evadaithe Nakenti. Jeevita Rajasekhar arranged a press meet on the eve of Rajasekhar’s birthday today. Evadaithe Nakenti is going to release on 9 February. Sai Kumar dubbed Rajasekhar’s character after a long gap. Raja Sekhar will be doing a film in the direction of Prasad (Sukumar’s associate) as his next project. Jeevita Rajasekhar will be directing Telugu version of Hindi flick ‘Khakhi’ very soon.

Ramesh Manyam buys Muni
Ramesh Manyam bought the Telugu dubbing rights of Lawrence Tamil film Muni. Vedika plays female lead. Saran produced Muni in Tamil on Gemini productions banner. Lawrence said that Muni will has some interesting concept like Chandramukhi. Audio of this film is expected on either 10th or 12th of this month. This film will be simultaneously released in Telugu and Tamil.

Anumanaspadam on 9 February
Vamsi - Ilayaraja’s combination film Anumanaspadam is all set to release on 9 February. Satish Tati who worked in USA for 11 years is making his debut as producer with this film. Ilayaraja has taken 15 days to do rerecording of this film. Five songs of this film were recorded in Yashraj Studio, Mumbai for fine quality output. Director Vamsi who prefers regular equipment used advanced camera, cranes and lighting equipment for this film. Producer is releasing this film on own through out AP through Mayuri films by selecting finest theaters to make sure that creativity of Vamsi and rerecording of Ilayaraja are justified.

Dil Raju buys Jagadam for Nizam
Dil Raju bought the Nizam rights of Sukumar (Arya fame) second film Jagadam by paying a fancy amount. Dil Raju is known for his business acumen in selecting movies for distribution and scripts for production. Audio of this film turned out to be the instant chartbuster. Ram (Devadas fame) and Isha are doing main leads in this film. Devi Sri Prasad composed music. Aditya Babu produces this film. Jagadam is going to release in the second half of February 2007.

Uppalapati’s Gnapakam
Uppalapati Narayana Rao is directing a film titled Gnapakam with Venkatswara Rao Atluri and Visakha Singh in the main leads. This film is based on real incident. Half of the film is shot in Austria, Germany and Italy. It is a love story happening in a foreign university. There will be seven songs by the debutant music director Sekhar Chandra. Kongara Subhashini and Chakradhar Paturi produces this film on German Town Entertainments banner.
