SJ Surya is to direct Pawan Kalyan
As per the news making around in Film Nagar, SJ Surya (Kushi fame) will direct Pawan Kalyan’s next project. This film is expected to be produced by a veteran film financier Singanamala Ramesh. The tentative title for this project is said to be Puli. He recently produced the Tamil version of Pokiri. This film will start after Pawan Kalyan completes his current film in the direction of Trivikram.

Hansika paired up with NTR
Hansika Motwani (child actress in Koi Milgaya) who made her debut as heroine in Telugu and Hindi with blockbusters like Desa Muduru and Aap Ka Surroor respectively is signed for NTR’s next film in the direction of Mehar Ramesh. This film is tentatively titled as Kantri. After Ravi Teja (Idiot), Mahesh Babu (Pokiri) and Allu Arjun (Desa Muduru), it is the turn of NTR to come up with a negative title. Looks like Mehar Ramesh is following the footsteps of his mentor Puri Jagan. Aswini Dutt will produce this film.

Dil Raju signs Lakshyam director
With Lakshyam hitting the bulls eye, Dil Raju has signed Srivas who made his debut as director with Lakshyam. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Dil Raju is paying a remuneration excess to crore for this director. A high profile hero will act in this film. More details later.

Jagapati Babu’s Kshatriya Vamsam
Jonnalagadda Srinivas who directed a film titled Jagapti with Jagapati Babu in the past is all set to direct Jagapati Babu again for a mass flick. This film is titled as Kshatriya Vamsam. This film will go to floors very soon. Jagapati Babu is doing a double heroine flick in the direction of Dasarath now.

Cherry’s two hot projects
Cherry who recently produced Okkadunnadu and currently producing Yamadonga has two hot projects lined up now. Both these films have two young crazy directors and two of the best youth heroes. Pepsi signs Allu Arjun
It is reliably learnt that Telugu film star Allu Arjun is roped in as the brand ambassador for Pepsi. Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan were the first film stars to be roped into to promote Thums Up and Pepsi respectively in AP. Now Mahesh Babu is the brand ambassador of Thums Up. It were state level dealers of the cola companies that selected Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. This time around the cola companies directly approached the stars.

Madan to direct Uday Kiran
Madan who provided story to Aa Naluguru and directed his first film Pellaina Kothalo recently is going to direct another film too. This film is expected to have Uday Kiran doing the main leads. Madan will also produce this film on his banner ‘Aa Naluguru films‘.

Dhee 100 days function on 8 September
The 100 days function of surprise hit of the year Dhee will be held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam on the night of 8 September. This film stars Vishnu, Srihari and Genelia in the main leads. Seenu Vytla directed this film. Lots of film celebrities from Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi film industry are expected to grace this grand function.

Sivaji as State Rowdy
Sivaji who has been acting in many films this year is currently doing a film titled State Rowdy (Veedikantha scene ledu). Mallika Kapoor and Madhu Shalini play female leads. Shooting of the film is almost complete. This film is a remake of Tamil hit flick Ediri. Doctorate to Veturi
Veteran lyricist Veturi Sundara Rama Murthy will be presented with the honorary doctorate on August 3 in 23rd convocation by Acharya Nagarjuna University. Veturi penned over 10,000 songs so far. He also worked as journalist for prominent magazines like Andhra Patrika and Andhra Prabha. Katti Padma Rao and Vadlamani Venkata Subramanya Ravi would also be honored with doctorate on the same day.

Mamata Mohandas is signed for a film in which Nitin acts as hero. Ravi C Kumar (Samanyudu fame) directs this flick. Chakri composes music. RR Moviemakers that produced films like Hungama and Samanyudu is producing this film. This film will go to floors very soon.

Uday Kiran as Lakshmi Putrudu
RS film that produced Gopi (Godameda Pilli) in the past is going to make a film titled ‘Lakshmi Putrudu’ with Uday Kiran as hero. Raj Kapoor who directed around 23 films in Tamil is directing this film. 70% of the shooting is complete so far. Uday Kiran plays the role of responsible son in this film. It is an out and out action film. D Iman composes music.

RP as Mee Sreyobhilashi
Rajendra Prasad is acting in a story based film titled Mee Sreyobhilashi. CC Reddy produces this film in the direction of debutant Eeswar Reddy. This film is based on suicides. Rajendra Prasad is doing the role of a elderly man who puts an effort to revive hope in the hearts of people who attempt suicide. Shooting of the film is complete but for the climax.

SDZ confirmed on 25 July
Chiranjeevi’s latest film Shankar Dada Zindabad is coming on 25 July. This film stars Chiranjeevi and Karishma Kotak in lead roles. Srikant does a vital role. Dasari to launch Yamadonga audio
Dasari Narayana Rao will be launching the audio of Yamadonga film along with another prolific senior director K Raghavendra Rao at a function to be held at Hotel Marriot on the night of 14 July. All the bigwigs of Telugu film industry are expected to grace this occasion. Yamadonga movie will be released on 8 August.

Bellamkonda to dub Vel
Bellamkonda Suresh who is on high with Sivaji collecting huge amounts. His next venture is going to be another dubbing film from Tamil titled ‘Vel‘. Yamadonga audio in Marriot
Audio of NTR’s latest film Yamadonga will be launched in Hotel Marriot (erstwhile known as Hotel Viceroy) on the evening of 14 July. This film got tremendous craze among the audiences and trade circle because of the combination of Rajamouli - NTR - Mohan Babu. MM Keeravani scored the music and the music is releasing on MM Keeravani’s home label ‘Vel Recolds‘.

Prabhudeva charges 2.5 crores
Prabhudeva is the man in demand now. His debut film NVNV was an instant blockbuster. But the second film Pournami disappointed him. His Tamil remake of Pokiri is a huge blockbuster. He finished his work for Shankar Dada Zindabad (LRMB remake) now. His next project is going to be Hindi version of Pokiri starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia. He is been approached by Tamil producer Thanu (Kakha Kakha fame) to direct a Tamil film. It is learnt that Prabhudeva is charging 2.5 crores for that film.

Suhani replaced in Takkari
Suhani (Tooniga fame from Manasantha Nuvve) seems to be in the mode of replacements these days. She was supposed to act in Bapu’s latest film, but was replaced by Charmme. Nitin’s latest film Takkari in the direction of Amma Raja Sekhar was launched with Suhani as heroine. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, she is also been dropped from the project and the director is considering other heroines.

Mumaith Khan’s Maisamma launch on 16 July
From the days of struggling item song girl, Mumaith Khan is graduated into lady action heroine. She is going to act in the title role of Maisamma in a film to be directed by Bharat Parepalli. Bharat has directed innumerable flops in the past. Soubhagya Exports that produced Aadivaram Aadavallaki Selavu is going to direct this film. It is reliably learnt Dasari is the man behind the project and his name does not appear in the credits of the film due to obvious reasons.

Harry Potter 3D in IMAX
The latest sequel of Harry Potter will be releasing in 3D version in IMAX screen of Prasads, Hyderabad. Incidentally, Prasads IMAX is the only theater in India that is playing 3D version. This film is releasing allover India on 13 July. The tickets for this film are already sold out for the first 3 days.

Simran in John Appa Rao 40+
Venkat Kuchipudi is directing his second film ‘John Appa Rao 40+’ with Krishna Bhagawan as hero Veteran actress Simran is going to act with Krishna Bhagawan in this film. Mandira Bedi was considered for this role earlier, but could not do because of dates problem. Kiran Varanasi who composed the remix of ‘vayyari’ song in Lakshyam film is going to provide music for this film. The shooting will start on 1st August in Dubai with a song. Sameer Reddy handles cinematographer. Ramesh Gopi pens dialogues.

Lakshyam hit’s the bulls eye
Gopichand’s latest film Lakshyam got tremendous openings and is still going fulls in most of the centers. Nallamalupu Bujji who stuck gold with his maiden production venture Lakshmi proved his commercial judgment again with this film. He took a risk by releasing in Nizam, Ceded and East on his own. This film collected an excellent share. Incidentally Lakshyam is the biggest hit in Gopichand’s career. Time and again Gopichand exhibited his ability of attracting masses to the theaters.

Muthyala Muggu hero is no more
Veteran film actor Sridhar (68) who shot to fame as hero with Muthyala Muggu and Goranta Deepam expired today at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. He acted in over 150 films in Telugu. His hometown is Kommaluru (Krishna district). May his soul rest in peace.

The unit of Chiranjeevi’s Shankar Dada Zindabad completed the shooting of ‘Jagadeka Veeruniki’ song today. Heroes Ravi Teja and Allu Arjun came to the sets of SDZ and danced for the teen maar beat of the song. The guest list of the film is growing. Pawan Kalyan has done a memorable role in this film. He has an important scene in the climax. Shankar Dada Zindabad is going to release in this month.

Pyramid Saimira to release Toss
Pyramid Saimira that entered Telugu film industry with a bang by Rajnikanth’s Sivaji is going release Raja’s next film Toss on 14 July. Upendra, Priyamani and Kamna Jetmalani did the other lead roles. Priyadarshini Ram who made his debut with Manodu directed this film. This is the first Telugu film to be shot with Viper Film Stream Camera. Dev Amar produced Toss.

Marudhuri Raja turns director

Prabhas film release on 4 Jan
The tentative release date for Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Puri Jagan is fixed at 4 January 2008. This film will be produced by KS Rama Rao. Puri Jagan will complete the shooting part of his current film Chiruta by next month and this film is expected to go floors in August. Media speculated that Shadow is the title of this film as Creative Commercial registered this title recently. But producer KS Rama Rao denied that Shadow is not the title of the film and that title was registered by him on behalf of somebody else.

After Varsham, its Vana!
MS Raju is contemplating on titling his next film as Vana. He is going to remake the Kannada blockbuster Mungara Malai in Telugu in association with SP Creations banner. This film is breaking records in Karnataka. MS Raju will be announcing the name of hero and director very soon.

Mamata Mohandas who mastered the art of item singing with ‘Rakhi Rocky’ song in Rakhi film has rendered her voice again for Devi Sri Prasad’s tune in Shankar Dada Zindabad. Yana Gupta sizzled in this item song. The audio of SDZ will be launched in grand style on 4 July at a function held in Shilpa Kala Vedika. Audio launch of Shankar Dada MBBS was also hosted at the same venue.

Yama Donga movie on 8 August
Audio of Yama Donga is expected to release on either 12th or 14th of July. Vel Records (MM Keeravani’s label) will produce the audio. There will be six full songs and four bit songs in this film. Daler Mehandi, NTR and Mamata Mohan Das rendered a couple of songs in this film. Movie is going to hit the marquee on 8 August which happens to be Wednesday.

Vedika with Allu Arjun

If Mumaith Khan enacted the item song in Shankar Dada MBBS, it is Yana Gupta who is sizzling in it’s sequel Shankar Dada Zindabad. She is currently shooting with Chiranjeevi in Padmalaya studios. Audio of this film is expected on 4 July. The unit went to Australia to shoot a song a week back. Film is complete but for two songs. Prabhudeva directs this film and Devi Sri Prasad composes it.

Tarun in ‘Chandamamatho Oka Mata Cheppali’
Tarun is going to act in a film titled ‘Chandamamatho Oka Mata Cheppali‘. This title is inspired by a song in Premabhishekam film. 900 dresses for Happy Days
Sekhar Kammula has a strategic branding partnership with Cloths major Pantaloon for his latest film Happy Days. All the cloths used for Happy Days are from Pantaloon. Sekhar Kammula said that they used over 900 dresses so far from Pantaloons which have come for free of cost. This arrangement itself saved Sekhar around 10 lakhs. The shooting of the film is almost complete. Audio will be launched in 16/17 July and film will be released on 3/9 August.

Prithvi in cans for 3 years
Bengal based painter Sisir Sahana has made a film titled Prithvi. This film is based on some of the incidents happened in his life. This film has been banned by censor board and is lying in cans for the past 3 years. The filmmaker has screened a preview yesterday to few celebrities in Hyderabad. Ramesh Prasad (of Prasad Labs) watched the film and appreciated immensely.

3 film releases this week
This week is witnessing three releases. Haranadh Policherla’s Chandrahas is releasing on 29 June. Krishna played the role of Sivaji in this film. 50% finished Mr. Medhavi
National award winning director Neelakanta is directing a film titled Mr. Medhavi with Raja and Genelia in the main leads. It is also stars Sonu Sood (Super and Athadu fame) in a vital role. 50% of the shooting is complete. A new banner Life Style creations is producing this film. Chakri composes music. Mr. Medhavi is expected to hit the marquee in the month of October.

Cinematographer Jeeva is no more
Noted cinematographer Jeeva (photo) who worked for films like Gentleman, Bharateeyudu, Vaali, Kushi (Tamil) etc passed away on the night of 25 June due to cardiac arrest. He was shooting for a Tamil film Dhoom Dham starring Jayam Ravi and Kangana Ranaut in Australia. He also directed a Tamil film titled 12B (based on British flick Sliding Doors), Nee Valle Nee Valle (based on 'Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus' book) etc in the past. He was survived by wife and three children. May his soul rest in peace.

Yama Donga in August
The release of NTR’s Yamadonga is shifted from 18 July to 1st week of August. The reasons for the delay are attributed to the graphics work and the ongoing incessant rains in AP. Shooting of two songs is pending. Audio of Yamadonga is expected to release on 5 July. NTR and Mamata Mohandas rendered their voice to the remix song of Olammi Tikka Reginda (Yamagola) for this film. Delar Mehandi rendered his voice to a Punjabi type folk song in this film. This song is expected to be the highlight song. Priyamani is acting as another female lead. There will be plenty heroines doing the roles of celestial beauties. The expectations on this film are high because it is coming from the combination that delivered Student No.1 and Simhadri.

Arti paired up with Raja Sekhar
Arti Agarwal is paired up with Raja Sekhar in a movie titled ‘Gorintaku’ to be produced by Mega Supergood films. This film is a remake of Kannada blockbuster Annatangi. Meera Jasmine plays sister to Rajasekhar in this film. This film will go to floors on 5 July. VR Pratap directs this film.

Gopichand donates 2 lakhs
Gopichand celebrated his birthday on 12 June this year by visiting Sweekar-Upkar organization and donating 1lakh to the physically challenged orphans out there. He also visited Care hospital and donated one more lakh. However, Gopichand preferred to keep this news as private and did not reveal any of this information to the press. Hero Srikanth announced a help of 2 lakh rupees through CM’s foundation for the victims of latest floods in Andhra Pradesh. Vihari and HID on 22 June
Vihari - starring Mithun Tejhasvi, Polin Misha and Nikeesha is the main leads - is releasing on 22 June. This film is said to be the love story between foreign born Indian girl and a tour guide. This film is shot in exotic locales of Vizag and Kanya Kumari. This film is produced by Prabhakar G and Mahesh G on Dasami creations banner. Tulsi Kumar directed this film. Another film ‘Hungama in Dubai’ that falls in the genre of Hyderabad Nawabs is releasing on 22 June. This film will be released only in Nizam with limited prints in 10 theaters. Mast Ali & Aziz Janbaaz, Swetha Khanduri play main leads.

Nindu Pournami audio launched
State transport minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana launched the audio of Nindu Pournami that stars Rajendra Babu and Payal in the main leads. Thota Krishna directs this film. This film is about the effect of full moon on the heroine. First copy is ready. The producer EVN Chari is planning to release the film in the first week of July.

Sivaji 9 pm preview started
Bellamkonda Suresh arranged a special preview to the close associates in Hitech theater, Madhapur now. This preview was started at 9 pm and is expected to end by mid night. The runtime of the film is said to be in excess of 3 hours. We have to wait and see for the public verdict tomorrow when the film releases worldwide.

CBN watching Sivaji
Rajnikant is in town today. Bellamkonda Suresh arranged a special preview for Chandrababu Naidu and other prominent leaders of TDP at 9 am today morning at the preview theater of Prasad labs. Lokesh - son of Chandrababu - is also watching the film. Rajnikant is accompanying them.

Sivaji record in Prasads
Both Telugu and Tamil versions of Sivaji are releasing on the same day in Prasads theater in Hyderabad. The ticket prices are increased from 100 to 125 to view on regular screen. The premiere show will be held in IMAX screen on 15 June at 8:45 am. The ticket price for IMAX screen is Rs. 180/-. The craze in city for Sivaji is humongous.

AMAV to collect 25 crores
Venkatesh’s summer blockbuster AMAV has collected around 18 crores in Andhra Pradesh alone in six weeks. This film is expected to rake in an amount of 25 crores share in total run. It collected 6.6 crores in Nizam so far and expected to collect 9 crores in Nizam. AMAV is all set to celebrate 50 days in 200 centers. In Nizam alone this film will run for 50 days in 55 theater. This film was released with 54 prints in Nizam and the print number is increased to 90 now.

Karunya sings for Chiruta

As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Trisha is signed for Prabhas’s next film in the direction of Puri Jagan. This film will be produced by KS Rama Rao on Creative Commercials banner. A film on YSR’s father
It is learnt that a popular film director is working on a script that is based on the life story of Raja Reddy (father of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy). We have to wait and see for more details of the project. Mohan Babu and Hari Krishna acted in the past for a film titled ‘Sriramulayya’ which is based on the life story of Paritala Ravindra.

ANR’s song ‘Niluvave Valu Kanuladaana’ (Illarikam) is being remixed and shot for Gopichand’s forthcoming film ‘Lakshyam’. Mani Sharma composes music. This song is shot on Gopichand and Anushka. Srivas is making his debut as director. Nallamalupu Bujji produces this film. Audio of Lakshyam is expected to release on 10 June. Lakshyam film will release either in the last week of June or in the first week of July.

Kanmani’s Call Center
Kanmani who directed critically acclaimed film ‘Naa Oopiri’ that dealt with schizophrenia is all set to direct a film titled ‘Call Center’. This film revolves around a call center. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, Jagapati Babu is starting to charge satellite rights as remuneration for his films. His earlier films Pellaina Kothalo and Samanyudu got handsome amount as satellite rights. His next two venture in the direction of Dasarath and JD Chakravarthy are said to have got a crore each as satellite rights even before starting of the shooting. It is a boom time for satellite rights of Telugu film. Satellite rights of Venu Madhav’s Bhukailas was sold for 60 lakhs even before the film‘s release.

Spiderman 3 creates all India record
Spiderman 3 grossed 57 crores in India so far by crossing the all time record of Titanic which collected a gross of 55 crores in total run among the foreign films in India. Spiderman 3 got released with 588 prints in Hindi (261 prints), English (162 prints), Telugu (81 prints), Tamil (78 prints) and Bhojpuri (6 prints). The prints number is increased to 597 in the second week.

Mani Ratnam’s brother expired
G Srinivasan - brother of popular director Mani Ratnam - who produced Tamil versions of Yuva and Guru expired while indulging in trekking yesterday in Himachal Pradesh. He is a chartered Accountant by profession. Mani Ratnam’s another brother G Venkateswaran (of GV films) died through suicide on 3 May 2003.
