Naga Chaitanya’s Dhada
Dhada is the title confirmed for Naga Chaitanya’s latest movie in the direction of Ajay Bhuyan. Shooting of this film is almostcomple. Kajal Agarwal plays female lead and Thaman composes music. D Siva Prasad Reddy is the producer of the movie. This movie is going to release in this summer.

Rajasekhar injured
Hero Raja Sekhar got injured today at the sets of Mahankali movie. He has slight injuuries on head and hands. He is admitted in Apollo Chennai and is advised bed rest for a few weeks. Rajasekhar is playing the role of a cop in this movie.

Maaveeran - Ram Charan Tej’s blockbuster Magadheera is releasing in Tamil with over 100 prints on 27 May. The Malayalam dubbed version is titled as Dheera and this film is also releasing in over 50 screens in Kerala.

Vaadu Veedu music on 1 June
The music of Bala’s latest bilingual Vaadu Veedu will release on 1 June. Vishal and Arya play title roles in this movie. Rey on roll
YVS Chowdary’s latest film Rey was launched officially during Vijaya Dasami of the last year. This film is the debut vehicle of Chiranjeevi’s menalludu Sai Dharam Tej. The first schedule of the film took place in Malaysia and the unit has recently returned to Hyderabad. A few action episodes in the choreography of Stun Shiva were canned over there. This film is currently being shot in Hyderabad now. The unit will travel to USA on 10 June to shoot major part of the film. The first half of the film has west indies backdrop and the second half has USA backdrop.

Srini Avasarala’s new projects
Srini Avasarala who made his debut through Ashta Chemma has taken a gap and acted in Vamsi’s Saradaga Kasepu and his latest film Vara Prasad vs Potti Prasad is due for the release. His next film is going to be ‘3 Idiots’ to be directed by VN Aditya. The first schedule of this film will start from tomorrow at Malaysia. Prakash Raj is the protege of K Bala Chandar. K Balachandar has been selected for the coveted award of Dada Saheb Phalke this year. No award for Telugu films
National awards jury has ignored Telugu films this year. There is a slot for the best Telugu film under regional cinema section. Films like Vedam, Leader, Prasthanam, Broker, Ganga Putrulu and Parama Veera Chakra were contenders for this slot. And none of these films were found to be good enough by the jury to give best regional Telugu film award. It’s time for introspection to Telugu filmmakers. Are we not good enough at making films or are we not good enough at lobbying. A few different and worthy films were made in the last year and certain injuustice is done to Telugu cinema.

Manoj Manchu celebrates birthday
Manoj Manchu has celebrated his birthday today with his fans at his residence. He said that his current film Mr. Nokia is going to release this year. His dream project ‘Uuukodathara Vulikki Padathara’ is going to be a multistarrer and is going to be made on a huge budget. An expensive set is being constructed for the past four months. Manoj said that he is up for multi-hero films and fans should encourage multi-starrers in Telugu.

Online ticketing off in AP
The online ticketing facility is off in AP for the past one month due to government regulations. It is learnt that Galaxy ent company was allotted the rights of online ticketing though a Government Order long back. All the online ticketing should go through that particular company. Hence all other online movie ticket sales will become illegal and unauthorised. A compromise is being worked out. Till then one has to buy tickets only at box office.

VN Aditya’s 3 Idiots?
VN Aditya is directing a film for Suresh Productions. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, This film is most likely to be titled as ‘3 Idiots’ (It has no relavance to Hindi film). This film features Navadeep, Rahul (Tyson of Happy Days) and Srinivas Avasarala (Ashta Chemma fame) playing title roles. Shraddha Das, Sanjana (Bujjigadu fame) and Sowmya are paired up with the 3 idiots respectively. Reema Sen and Sivaji play mature couple in the movie. Reema Sen who acted in VN Aditya’s Manasantha Nuvve 10 years back is going to act in his direction again. Koti composes music and Jawahar Reddy handles camera. KV Krishna Reddy is the editor. Sekhar Kammula invited to Cannes
Sekhar Kammula is one among six Indian directors who were officially invited for the Cannes Film Festival this year. This year’s festival will start on 11 May and end on 22 May. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has recommended the names of Sekhar Kammula, Anurag Kashyap (Dev D), Dibakar Benarjee (Khosla Ki Ghosla), Anusha Rizvi (Peepli Live), Laximikant Shetgaonkar (Paltadacho Munis), and Haobam Paban Kumar (AFSPA 1958). These filmmakers will be introduced at the India Pavilion in the international village.

Seema Tapakai on 13 May
Allari Naresh’s latest movie Seema Tapakai is all set to release on 13 May. This film is directed by Nageswara Reddy who delivered many low-budget comedy hits in the past. Prabhas’s cousin as hero
Prabhas’s cousin Siddharth Raj Kumar is all set to make his debut as hero in a trilingual. This film is the remake of Kannada blockbuster Josh. This film is made in three languages (Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam) simultaneously. RP Patnaik’s brother Gowtam Patnaik makes his debut as director with the Telugu version. Gowtam Patnaik earlier worked for many blockbusters in Sumanth Productions like Varsham, Manasantha Nuvve, NVNV etc. Saran (protege of Bhagyaraja) is directing Tamil version. This film is being produced by popular Kannada producer SV Babu on SV Productions banner. Shooting of the film is complete and the post-production is going on. This film is slated for June release.

Ganesh to produce Gabbar Singh
The Telugu remake of Hindi flick Dabangg is titled as Gabbar Singh and it was announced earlier as a movie to be made on Pawan Kalyan Creative Works banner. However, Pawan Kalyan has decided to let the production onus to go to Ganesh Babu who produced recently released Teen Maar movie. Harish Shankar who proved himself as a commercial director with Mirapakai is going to direct Gabbar Singh.

Ram Charan Tej’s Racha
The title for Ram Charan Tej’s next movie is confirmed as Racha. Sampath Nandi who made his debut with Yemaindi Ee Vela is going to direct this movie. Ram Charan Tej recenty went to USA for a couple of months to get himself trained in various martial arts. This commercial movie will be launched on 1st June.

RB Chowdary’s son Jeeva’s latest film Rangam is going to release on 13 May. This film features Kartika (Josh fame) as heroine. Dialogue writer Gandham Nagaraju who penned though provoking dialogues for Gamyam passed away today while going treatment for liver related problems in Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad. He has also worked for films like Baanam, Betting Bangarraju, Gaayam 2, Inkosari etc. Gandham Nagaraju comes from a family of literary background. His father Gandham Yagnavalkya Sharma was a noted writer. May his soul rest in peace.

Ram Gopal Varma who is planning to do ‘Department’ with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan in the main lead has roped in Rana Daggubati to play the role that is supposed to be played by Abhishek Bachchan. Ram Gopal Varma cited the dates co-ordination with Abhishek as the reason. This announcement came after the release of Dum Maro Dum. Mean while, Ram Gopal Varma was caught in a contraversy as a couple of Mumbai magazines wrote that he revealed the climax of DMD in the text message he sent to friends from the preview theater. The magazines have also quoted that RGV has messaged a few negative things about Abhishek’s performance. RGV has tweeted and refuted that these rumors are handiwork of a few journalists with malicious intentions.

RGV to affect cinematographers livelihood
Ram Gopal Varma is like a kid who want to buy and play with the best toy/weapon in the market. It was RGV who made the 1st film India with steady cam in the form of ‘Shiva’. RGV might have failed as a director at times, but never failed as a technician who stretches the borders of creativity by embracing the new technologies. After showcasing the power of video mode in Canon 5D cameras with Dongala Mutha press preview, a few producers approached him for the consulation. RGV is of opinion that content is the king and not even a single audience come to the theater because a particular cinematographer has shot it. RGV asks that why should cinematographers in Telugu need to be paid from 25 lacs to 50 lacs (except for epic movies and costume dramas). He went on to prove that point by not having a cinematographer for Dongala Mutha. He had just five still camera operators working on video mode simultaneously during the shoot. When a producer approached RGV that a cinematographer is asking for 25 lacs, RGV convinced him that he could do away with costly cinematographer and give a chance to a new guy, instead. Another producer approached RGV for consultation and he planned to do a small movie with a budget of 1.25 crores. RGV has shown his how he reduced cost while doing Dongala Mutha and the producer reworked on the budget and decided that he could make a movie in a budget of 25 lacs. Even if RGV’s Dongala Mutha becomes marginally successful, the first person whose livelihood is going to get affected is going to be that of a cinematographer.

Sumanth smooches two heroines in Raaj
Sumanth who is known as a gentleman both on on-screen and off-screen is going to change his image with his 18 March release ‘Raaj’. It is reliably learnt that Sumanth has lip-to-lip smooching scenes with both the actresses Priyamani and Vimala Raman. Both these girls proved themselves as good actresses in the past and they do also carry the sex symbol tag with by wearing raunchy costumes in the past. We have to wait and see to what extent these heroines romanced with Sumanth on the screen when this film hits theaters on 18 March.

I didn’t go topless - Sanjjanaa
Sanjjanaa (bujjigadu fame) is currently acting in Posani Krishna Murali’s Dussasana film. There is a rumor that she has acted topless in one of the scenes of the film. Sanjjanaa clarified that there is such a scene in the movie, but she wore a double layered top in which the bottom layer is of skin color. The bust part was blurred on the screen to get real effect. As the title suggests Dussasana's mythological figure is known for pulling away the saree of draupadi. A similar scene is shot in this movie with Sanjjanaa. Since the scene was of aggressive and violent nature, a plastic bust made of Sanjjanaa’s size was also used. Sanjjanaa clarified to the media that she would never do vulgar and cheap roles. The above discussed scene didn’t involve any rape, vulgarity, molestation and cheapness.

New life to LBW
Producer Bellamkonda Suresh has watched the movie and is thoroughly impressed with it. LBW (Life Before Wedding) film has a bad/insignificant release as none of the multiplexes came forward to give one-show slot to LBW where as films like KSD Appalraju and 7 Khoon Maf (released on the same day) were given more than five screens each in each of the multiplexes in Hyderabad. LBW has managed to get a single show (8 pm in Prasads multiplex) among all multiplexes in the second week. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh has watched the movie and asked the director Praveen Sattaru to convert the digital format to negative format so that he can release the movie in a big scale in 50 theaters from the next friday. LBW was released in USA on 25 February in all major centers.

Mullapudi Venkata Ramana is no more
Veteran writer Mullapudi Venkata Ramana (of Bapu-Ramana fame) expired due to illness at his house in Abhiramapuram, Chennai today. He started his career as a journalist and Ventured into movies writing for Rakta Sambandham (1962). He created the popular budugu character. He has also penned his biography ‘Kothi Kommachi’ in book and audio format. He has worked with Bapu for memorable films like Sakshi, Muthyala Muggu, Pelli Pustakam, Mr. Pellam etc. He was currently working for Bala Krishna’s Sri Ramarajyam directed by Bapu. May his soul rest in peace.

LBW gets into film festivals
Praveen Sattaru’s film LBW has got entry into Dallas film festival and it will be screened as a part of ‘Indian Spotlight’. There also has been an enquiry from Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles to screen LBW. LBW film was released in India on 18 February. It will be releasing in eight centers in USA from 25 February.

12 crore budget for Prema Kavali
Producer Venkat (RR Moviemakers) saw the dance and show reel clips of Adi in the mobile phone of Sai Kumar. It was during the time of RR Moviemakers film Samanyudu in which Sai Kumar acted as a villain. Impressed with Adi’s clips, Venkat promised that he will introduce Adi in a big way. But Adi had to wait because Venkat went on to make Kick and Don Seenu after that. Venkat made sure that Adi got his dream debut by launching Adi with film that is made with a huge budget of 12 crores, which is extremely high for any new comer. The producer has hired around 300 spots in Hyderabad (hoardings, lollipops and bus shelters). Prema Kavali is going to open in over 200 screens which include 19 theaters in Bangalore where Sai Kumar is a celebrated hero. Prema Kavali is also releasing in USA in 16 screens.

T bandh affects Telugu film industry
The 2-days bandh called by JAC of Telangana had a huge impact on Telugu film industry. None of the theaters in Nizam screened any movie in the last two days. The producers have also cancelled all their shoots in Telangana during these two days.

It’s digital time for Telugu cinema
The Telugu film industry is slowly migrating towards digital cinema. Last week’s releases Gaganam and vastadu Naa Raju are shot with Red One digital camera. This week’s releases Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appal Raju is shot weith ARRI alexa Camera. Siddharth’s bilingual 180 is also shot with Red One Camera. Praveen Sattaru of LBW has gone a step ahead and releasing only digital print by doing away with physical print. He hired around 30 theaters in AP that are either equipped with UFO or QUBE. It costs around 10 lacs to convert a digital print into negative and would cost around 70,000 per physical print. The producer of LBW has saved around 30 lacs by going for digital release (this excludes the savings a producer get when he doesn’s use negative to shoot with a digital camera).

Ekta Kapoor is producing a film titled Ragini MMS. This film is a bilingual in Hindi and Telugu. This film is based on real incidents. It’s a paranormal thriller. Producer Dil Raju is attempting something really brave for his latest movie Gaganam. He is going to show the premiere of Nagarjuna’s Gaganam three days before the release. He is going to arrange a special premiere to the press and media on the night of 8 February. There will be premieres for industry people on the night of 9 Feb. Then the unit (Nagarjuna, Dil Raju, Prakash Raj and others) will travel in a chartered flight to Sangam theater in Vizag at 10:30 am for morning show. Mohana Krishna Indraganti who delivered clean entertainer ‘Ashta Chemma’ few years back is coming with a bang with yet another commercial entertaining different film in the form of ‘Golkonda High School’. This film is based on a novel ‘The Men Within’ written by Hari Mohan Paruvu who is the brother of Ashta Chemma producer Ram Mohan. Sumanth plays the role of a cricket coach for a high school as Swati does the role of English teacher. The story of the movie is about assembling a cricket team from a group of disoriented kids and win the tournament in order to save the school’s ground. Jaagore song composed by Kalyani Malik is already a rage. Producer Ram Mohan P is planning to release GHS with limited prints on 15 January.

Nenu Naa Rakshasi pushed to March
Puri Jagan’s latest movie Nenu Naa Rakshasi is pushed from the first week of January to March. This film features RaNa and Ileana in the main leads. RaNa who made his debut as a leader with an honest movie is all set to show his flamboyant side with his portrayal as full-flegded commercial hero in Nenu Naa Rakshasi. Eega is a live action film
Clarifying a misconception that Eega is an animation film, director SS Rajamouli said that Eega is a live action film which also has visual effects in certain parts. Nani plays male lead and Sudeep plays negative role. Rajamouli also told idlebrain.com, Eega is a medium budget film and the complete details along with the brief storyline will be made public in a press meet to be held after a week.

Gowtam Menon’s voice over for Tamil Rakta Charitra
Gowtam Menon has done the voice over for the Tamil version of Rakta Charitra. It was Ram Gopal Varma who gave voice over in the Telugu version. Speaking about it, Ram Gopal Varma said the voice over in Tamil version of Gowtam was suave and sophisticated compared to raw and dramatic voice over given by RGV in Telugu. Both parts of Rakta Charitra is bundled into one in Tamil and is releasing all over the world on 3rd December. A premiere of Tamil version is held at Kuala Lumpur.

Brahmanandam turns playback singer

Rakta Charitra 2 with 32 prints in USA
Rakta Charitra 1 was released with much fanfare in the month of October and became a runaway hit. The second part is all set to release allover the world on 3 December. Part 2 of the movie concentrates on Maddelacheruvu Suri character played by Suriya and his wife character played by Priyamani. Rakta Charitra 1 was released with 28 prints in USA and made good money for exhibitors and the distributor. The part two will be releasing with 32 prints with premieres on the night of 2 December in USA.

1.5 cr worth set for Sri Ramarajyam
Producer Sai Baba Yalamanchili has spent over 1 and half crore of rupees to construct Valmiki set in Alwal, Hyderabad for his film Sri Rama Rajyam starring Bala Krishna. ANR played the role of Valmiki in this movie. Bapu directs it and Mullapudi Venkata Ramana pens script.

Swati’s cameo in Kandireega
Swati is working in Ram’s latest movie Kandireega. However, she is not playing the role of a second heroine as leaked in media. She is doing a cameo in the movie that lasts only for a few minutes. Pawan Kalyan’s latest movie which is a remake of Bollywood flick Love Aaj Kal is going to shoot in South Africa. The South Africa schedule will start in this week. Pawan Kalyan has also shot his film Badri in South Africa in the past. The shooting of the movie will be wrapped up by February and the producer is planning to release the movie in the month of April.

DVS Raju is no more
Renowned Telugu film personality and producer DVS Raju (82) passed away at a hospital in Hyderabad in the morning of 13 October. He went to Chennai in 1950 and went on to make 25 quality films with the likes of NTR, Sobhan Babu and Chiranjeevi. DVS Raju also served as the chairman of Film Development Corporation. He was also honored with Padma Sri award by the government of India. AP State Government conferred him the coveted Raghupati Venkaiah award. May his soul rest in peace.

VV Vinayak to direct Pawan Kalyan

2 week gap between biggies?
This year is going to witness three more big films releasing in the form of Orange, Nagavalli and Ragada. The producers are preferring to have a safe distance of 2-weeks between these releases. As Orange is releasing on 26 November, there are rumors that Nagavalli and Ragada might go to 9 and 24 of December. Rakta Charitra is expected to release in the first week of December.

Brindavanam 50 days function in Nizamabad
Dil Raju declared that he will be holding the 50 days function of Brindavanam in Nizamabad and NTR gladly accepted to participate in it. The date of the function will be announced soon. Dil Raju said that he got upset twice regarding Brindavanam. The 1st one was when he couldn't honor the commitment of releasing Brindavanam on the announced date and the second one was when he saw pirated CDs of Brindavanam three days after the release. However, he is delighted that Brindavanam turned out to be the one of the top three grossers of Telugu film industry in this year. He has also declared that Brindavanam is the 5th biggest hit of Nizam so far.

Kalyan Ram Nandamuri is a man with difference. He not only produces/acts in wide range of movies, but has a kind heart to respond when his state needs any help. He generously donated 3 lacs towards helping farmers who got affacted with JAL toofan which troubled the coastal Andhra. He will be donating this money to TDP fund meant for this activity.

Orange logo changed
The logo design of Orange film is changed after the complaints by the b/c center crowds that the title of the film is not clearly identifiable when compared with the background. Producer Nagababu has taken the decision to change logo in order highlight the orange words by taking out the art background in the logo. The logo designer also opted for easy to understand font for the letters compared to funky font which was present in earlier logo. Orange is all set to release on 19 November.

RGV to delete NTR scenes
Chandra Babu Naidu has objected to a few scenes that depict NTR in bad light in Rakta Charitra movie that is released today. In one scene RGV tells that Sivaji Rao runs away from Ananthapur because of the bomb blast at political meeting place. There is another scene where Sivaji Rao gives a go ahead to Ravi Pratap character to kill Bokka Reddy. Ram Gopal Varma and C Kalyan responded to it immediately and promised that the objected scenes will be removed by tomorrow evening from all the theatees. Rakta Charitra opening to terrific crowds both in AP and USA.

RGV’s Dhora with Chiru
Ram Gopal Varma expressed his desire to make a film titled Dhora (the Lord) with Chiranjeevi as hero. He has also said that he had some difference with Chiranjeevi during the making of a film in Aswini Dutt’s production in 1990’s which was stalled. Ram Gopal Varma quoted in twitter that he is dying to work with Chiranjeevi for Dhora movie.

Sunil who made it big with Maryada Ramanna is currently doing Appalaraju film in Ram Gopal Varma’s direction. He committed another film to Sanvi Productions and the title of the movie is going to be Nepoleon. This comedy flick will be directed by Koti who worked with Rajamouli in the past. Ram Prasad handles cinematography and MM Keeravani composes music. Ganesh Indukuri will produce this movie.

Nani as Pilla Zamindar
Nani is going to play the title role of Pilla Zamindar soon. This film will be directed by Ashok who recently directed Aakasa Ramanna. It will be produced by DS Rao who produced films like Drona and Kalavar King in the past. It is a village based subject. Selva Ganesh (Bheemili fame) will compose music.

NTR’s Athade Aame Sainyam?
Bhogavally Prasad has recently registered a title ‘Athade Aame Sainyam’ in Telugu film chamber of commerce. This could be the potential title for NTR’s next movie in the direction of Surender Reddy. Athade Aame Sainyam title got into prominence with Yandamuri’s novel published as a serial a couple of decades back.

Ananthapur name changed in Rakta Charitra
The censor board took an objection to the city name Ananthapur in Rakta Charitra movie. Though this movie’s story is based on Paritala Ravi’s life story, Ram Gopal Varma maintained that it’s purely a fictional movie. Since it has political repurcussions if Anantapur name is quoted in Rakta Charitra, the censor board has asked Varma to change the name. Now Anantapur is called as Aanandapur in Rakta Charitra movie. The Telugu version of the movie will release on 21 October and the Hindi version will release on 22 October.

Three heroines for Ravi Teja’s movie
Kajal Agarwal, Tapsee and Manjari Fadnis are signed to play female leads in Ravi Teja’s next movie Veera. This film will be produced by NRI Ganesh Indukuri (Tolly 2 Holly fame) on Sanvi Productions banner. Ramesh Varma will direct this movie. Devi Sri Prasad is the music director and Shyam K Naidu handles cinema. Paruchuri brothers pen dialogues. This movie will be launched soon.

Mahesh plays Alluri Seeta Rama Raju
As per the reports of idlebrain.com, Mahesh Babu’s character name in Khaleja movie is Alluri Seeta Rama Raju and he would be fered as Raju in the movie. This movie got censored today and obtained U/A certificate. Anushka plays female lead. Music scored by Mani Sharma was recently released and obtained good feedback. Trivikram directs this movie. Khaleja will be releasing worldwide on 7 October.

Shopping Mall for Dasara
Santosham Suresh who dubbed Kadhal in Telugu as Premiste has bought another low-budget blockbuster titled ‘Angadi Theru’ and dubbed it in Telugu as Shopping Mall. Magesh and Anjali play main leads in this film that is directed by Vasantha Balan. This film became a huge hit and completed 100 days in all centers it was released. Santosham Suresh is planning to release the music in this week and movie for Dasara.

Appalraju on 12 January
The shooting of Ram Gopal Varma’s satire on film industry ‘Katha, Screenplay, Darsakatvam: Appalraju’ is going on a brisk pace. Sunil plays the title role. The last schedule of the movie will start on 21st of October and movie will be wrapped up with this schedule. There will be 9 songs scored by Koti. Producer Kiran Koneru is planning to release the movie on 12 January on the eve of Sankranthi.

Endhiran/Robo 2nd in USA
Endhiran and Robo films had paid premieres in various places of USA. Endhiran (Tamil version of Robo) turned out to be the number 2 film in entire USA on 30 September, as per Rentrak (audience measurement company in USA). The only film that is to have more pre-sales on 30 September is the Hollywood flick ‘Social Network’. As per the trend, Endhiran is going to be the number 1 film at USA box office on Friday (1 October).

ANR songs for Naga Chaitanya
Naa Kallu Chebutunnai is a big chartbuster from ANR’s classic Premabhishekam. This song is going to be remixed and kept in Naga Chaitanya’s latest movie in the direction of Sukumar. Tamanna plays female lead and Devi Sri Prasad composes music. Geeta Arts is producing the movie.
