Rana goes to Mumbai

Rana Daggubati had a long schedule of 45 days in Kuala Lumpur recently for his film Naa Ishtam. Briefly after returning to Hyderabad, Rana is summoned by Ram Gopal Varma to participate in the shoot of his Hindi film ‘Department’ in Mumbai for a period of a month. This film also features Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Dutt in other important roles. Rana plays the role of a south based cop (main lead) in this movie.

D Suresh Babu elected

D Suresh Babu has been unanimously chosen as the president of AP Film Chamber of Commerce. The other prominent film personalities who donned respectable positions in the film chamber include Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Dil Raju, Gemini Kiran and Sunil Narang (Asian Films).

Mugguru on 19 August

Suresh Productions’ latest venture Mugguru is all set to release on 19 August. The music will be launched on 4 August. VN Aditya directed this comedy flick. Navadeep, Rahul, Srinivas Avasarala, Sivaji, Reema Sen, Shraddha Das, Sanjana and Sowmya are playing main leads. Major part of the film was shot in Malaysia and the rest of the work was done at Karamchedu and Vizag. Veteran music director Koti composed music.

Dookudu audio on 11 August?

As per the sources of idlebrain.com, the music launch of Mahesh Babu’s latest film Dookudu has been pushed from 7 August to 11 August. There is a tremendous demand for Dookudu as it comes from Mahesh Babu who rocks the box office whenever his film releases and also because the director Seenu Vytla is known as the king of comedy. The producers are planning to release this action entertainer on 31 August in order to cash the Ramzan Holiday.

Kajal’s crazy fan

There is a hardcore fan of Kajal Agarwal and he owns a company. He wanted to meet Kajal Agarwal at any cost and he didn’t get any chance in regular ways. Hence he imposed himself as a wannabe producer and narrated a script to her. She didn’t like the script and told no to the film. He forcibly gave her a cheque for 3 lacs and told her that he would come up with another story. Kajal Agarwal didn’t cash the cheque. And she realised at a later date that a fan has used the identity of producer in order to meet her.

Salamath - a Telugu love story in Malaysia

Dhada and Kandireega space out by a day

It’s going to be a long weekend on 12 August with Independence day falling on Monday. No filmmaker wants to miss out such an opportunity. Art director Ravinder who has worked for several blockbusters in Telugu like Magadheera got a call from Mani Ratnam. Ravi is likely to work for Mani Ratnam’s next film. Thota Tharani has been the regular art director for Mani Ratnam for most of his films. Ravinder is currently doing art direction for many blockbusters in making Eega, Rajanna, Oh My Friend, Auto Nagar Surya and Oosaravelli. He had to say no to a Bollywood project of Saif Ali Khan due to his local commitments. Ravinder’s house set for Maryada Ramanna film was awarded patent rights and Ravinder is the first Telugu film art director to achieve patent rights.

Mr. Perfect completes 100 in 12 centers

Dil Raju’s latest film Mr. Perfect with Prabhas as hero in the direction of Dasarath has completed 100 days in 12 centers. Gone are the days where the success of the film is measured by the number of centers a film ran for 100 days as 80% of the total money is recovered in the first 3 weeks of release. Mr. Perfect has got hit talk on the day one and squeezed the summer advantage to the maximum. Dil Raju is currently producing Oh My friend with Siddharth and Shruti Hassan. VV Vinayak voice over for a villain

VV Vinayak has given voice over for the villain’s introduction scene for Kandireega. This film features Ram and Hansika Motwani as main leads. Sonu Sood plays an important character. VV Vinayak is like a family member to producer Suresh Bellamkonda. VV Vinayak is going to introduce Bellamkonda Suresh’s son as hero in the next year. Puri Jagan’s latest Hindi film Buddha Hoga Tera Baap has got the rare honor of getting a place in archives library of Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts, Los Angeles. Puri Jagan has got pretty good appreciation for his work of showing Amitab as angry young man in Budda film. Puri Jagan is planning to direct the Hindi version of the Businessman with Abhishek Bachchan after completing the Telugu version with Mahesh Babu.

Nagarjuna repeats Kamakshi banner

Four out of the last six solo-hero films (Gaganam, Ragada, Kedi, King, Don and Boss) of Nagarjuna were produced by D Siva Prasad Reddy. D Siva Prasad Reddy is currently producing Dhada with Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya. He announced today that there will be another film with Nagarjuna and the shooting will start from January 2012.

Sirish Bharadwaj surrenders

Sirish Bharadwaj who has been accused of dowry harassment by Chiranjeevi’s younger daughter Srija has gone into hiding for the past two months. Sirish was denied anticipatory bail in in the month of May. Sirish has surrendered in court today. The Magistrate has remanded him to judicial custody till August 10.

Suhasini to play Pawan’s mother

Suhasini Maniratnam is signed up to play the mother of Pawan Kalyan in Gabbar Singh that is going to be directed by Harish Shankar. This film is a remake of Bollywood masala cop blockbuster ‘Dabangg’. Shruti Hassan is roped in to play female lead. Ganesh Babu will produce this film on Parameshwara Arts banner.

Naa Peru Siva on 5 August

R Narayana Murthy is doing a film titled Poru Telangana. This film is based on all movements that have happened in Hyderabad since 1952. This film is tagged as ‘anna dammullara vidipodam. aatmiyulugaa kalisundam’. Shooting of this film is complete and the postproduction is going on. Poru Telangana is slated for August release. Varun Sandesh clarifies

The name of Varun Sandesh has been splashed in several TV channels when an arrest was made in Langar House today evening. A Nigerian and an Indian doctor from Bangalore were arrested and 50 grams of cocaine was confiscated from them. Lots of TV Channels splashed that Varun Sandesh and a couple of other film guys were clients of the arrested drug peddlers. A few channels were quoted that Varun Sandesh was taken in police custody. He was practicing dance for Priyudu film at some other place when the arrest of drug peddlers happened. Varun Sandesh has appeared on a couple of TV channels to clarify that he is not arrested and there are no allegations on him. He has also politely requested the TV channels not to splash such damaging headlines without verification as his grandparents are of 80 years old and he doesn’t want them to suffer with such damaging false news. Varun Sandesh has also said that he is available all the time to clarify any issues to media.

Keeravani composes music in Shirdi

Keeravani has gone to Shirdi for the first time to compose music for his forthcoming film ‘Shirdi Sai Baba’. The shooting of the film is almost complete. The music will be launched on 15 August and the film will release in the month of September.

JD’s DVD to Brahmanandam

JD Chakri’s Money III press meet was held yesterday in Westin Hotel. Chakri started off saying that Brahmanandam tortured him. He narrated all the rumors about Brahmanandam (coming late to sets, interference in direction, going off to home early, not preferring shoot in 1st floor and above, hefty remuneration, refusal to dub the movie if entire remuneration is not paid in advance) and then dispelled all these rumors. Brahmanandam seems to have decided to give a retort to JD. When Brahmanandam is given mic, he started off saying JD came with a DVD and asked him to watch it. Perplexed by this, JD immediately came and uttered a few words in the ears of Brahmanandam. This episode shows that Money III might be inspired by some Hollywood/Bollywood movie. JD Chakri’s Telugu debut Homam was inspired by The Departed and his second film Siddham was a remake of Ab Tak Chappan.

Dhada music on 24 July

Music of Naga Chaitanya’s latest movie Dhada will be launched at a function organized in Shilpa Kala Vedika on 24 July. Devi Sri Prasad scored music. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine. British actress Aruna Shields did an item song. Ajay Bhyan is the director. D Siva Prasad Reddy produces it. Dhada film is all set to release on 12 August to cash on the long weekend (August 15 being a Monday).

His latest movie that has kicked off shooting in Malaysia a couple of months back has wrapped the entire shoot in four locations (Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Karamchedu and Vizag). Samantha who made splashes with her Telugu debut Ye Maya Chesave as Jessie and then followed it up with a bubbly role in Brindavanam is signed as heroine for award winning director Deva Katta’s next film Auto Nagar Surya that features Naga Chaitanya in the title role. Lawrence’s latest bilingual in his own direction - Kanchana is all set to release very shortly. Lawrence plays different get-ups as per the demand of the script.
