Harish Shankar narrated the script of MLA - a political film a few years back (much before he has made Mirapakai) to NTR and he liked it very much. After that the film was not materialised. Harish Shankar’s next film now is going to star NTR. When asked Harish Shankar if this film is MLA, Harish said he is doing an entirely different script for this film and it is going to be an entertainer. The reason for the change of subject could be that there are many political films that are released in this gap like Shakuni.

DSP’s music for Charan’s Zanzeer

Devi Sri Prasad who has got ultra popular with dinka chika number in Salman Khan’s Ready is all set to score music for Ram Charan’s Bollywood debut film Zanjeer which is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s yesteryear's classic. Puri Jagan to direct Allu Arjun

The combination of Desa Muduru will be repeated towards the end of this year. Puri Jagan who has been on the movie-making marathon has signed a film with Allu Arjun as hero. This film will start shooting after the release of Puri Jagan’s latest film Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu with Pawan Kalyan and Tamanna. Eega gets U/A certificate

Eega film got censored today and obtained U/A certificate by the censor board. Rajamouli’s ambitious project Eega is releasing in 3 languages (Telugu, Tamil & Malayam) simultaneously on 6 July with over 1000 prints. Sudeep plays the most important role in this film where as Nani is doing the role of a lover who gets killed to be incarnated as eega. Samantha plays female lead. Rajamouli wanted to release Eega on 30 March. But the film got delayed over 2 months due to CG work. MM Keeravani is the music director and Senthil Kumar handles cinematography.

Mohana Krishna Indraganti’s next

Mohana Krishna Indraganti’s last film Golkonda High School was released in January 2011. Later on he was supposed to do a couple of projects, but due to certain reasons they didn’t materialise. Finally Damodar Prasad - the producer Ala Modalaindi has decided to produce the Mohan Krishna’s next film on Sri Ranjit Movies banner. This film will have new faces in the main leads. Double narration for David

Shaitan’s director Bejoy Nambiar is making a film titled David. This film has double narration where the director narrates the story of two Davids. One David is a fisherman played by Vikram and another David is the musician played by Jeeva. Ratnavel (Robo fame) is the cinematographer for fisherman’s story and Sreejal Shah is the cinematographer for musician story. This film features Isha Sharvani, Lara Dutta and Tabu in the female leads.

360 people for UKUP special effects

360 technicians are working relentlessly for the visual effects in Manoj Manchu’s latest film Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara featuring Bala Krishna, Manoj and Deeksha Seth. DCM music launch on 16 June

The music of Puri Jagan’s latest film Devudu Chesina Manushulu is bought for a good price by Sony Music. The music will be launched at a function organized on 16 of this month. Raghu Kunche who has shot to fame with his song ‘Enduke Ramanamma’ from Bumper Offer is scoring music for Puri Jagan for the first time. Confusion over Eega and EP release dates

There has been confusion among the release dates of Eega and Eandukante Premanta. As per the sources of idlebrain.com, a gap of 15 days between the release dates is being planned. As per the last tweet of Rajamouli, Eega is supposed to go for censoring on 21 May and is touted to release by 30 May. However, the last minute delay in graphic work prompted him to postpone the release to next month and the buyers were supposedly informed that Eega will release by the middle of June. Hence Sravanthi Ravi Kishore has planned to release EP on 1st June. However, sudden rumors about Bala Krishna’s Adhinayakudu being planned in 1st June seem to have prompted some confusion among the trading circles. With YS Jagan’s alleged future arrest and the subsequent turmoil might also add more doubts regarding film releases during this time. It is also learnt that Endukante Premanta is going for censoring tomorrow. We have to wait for the exact release date from the horse’s mouth soon!

Though recognized as a popular film director, Sekhar Kammula still is not a part of typical film nagar set up. He makes movies in his own and sells them in his own way. Despite getting continuous blockbuster, he has not become commercial. He has arranged a press meet and announced for star hunt 3rd September 2010. He has taken a lot of time to select new actors and start the movie ‘Life is Beautiful’. Sekhar Kammula doesn’t have the habit of letting media know about the progress of the movie. He comes to media only after wrapping up the movie. The distributors were given an indication that film would be ready by January 2012. However, a last minute hick-up about heroine being replaced by Shriya seemed to have prompted delay in shoot and release. The distributors are expecting the movie to release this summer. Allari Naresh’s Sudigaadu

The title under consideration for Allari Naresh’s latest film in Bheemineni Srinivasa Rao’s direction is Sudigaadu. The tagline of the movie is ‘Okka ticket pai vanda cinemalu’. This is the remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Tamil Padam’ which is a spoof on films. Shooting of the movie is nearing completion.

Satya pair as Vishal villains

Vishal is currently doing a bilingual in which Trisha is acting as heroine. This film features manoj Bajpai and Chakri (RGV’s Satya fame) doing villains. This film is titled as Samaran in Tamil. Anil Sunkara turns director

NRI Anil Sunkara who gave two hits (Bindass and Aha Naa Pellanta) as a solo producer and a blockbuster (Dookudu) with his friends is making his debut as director with a film titled Action (“with entertainment” as tag line). Love Failure on 17 February

Siddharth’s Love Failure is all set to release on 17 February. This film has an interesting back story. Balaji Mohan made a short film called “Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi” and uploaded it on youtube. Siddharth liked it and contacted the director to develop it into a feature film and direct it. This film’s music scored by Thaman has got pretty good response due to peppiness in music and variety in lyrics. Shashikant, Cinematographer Nirav Shah and actor Siddhath are jointly producing this movie. Telugu and Tamil versions will be simultaneously released worldwide on 17 February.

Poola Rangadu on 18 February

After 2nd and 10th, Poola Rangadu is postponed again to 18 February. This film has Sunil and Isha Chawla in main leads. Sunil has developed six pack for a few action sequences in this movie. Veerabhadram who made his debut with hit film Aha Naa Pellanta is directing this movie. Music scored by Anoop Rubens is already popular. Achi Reddy produces it on Max India banner.

Siddharth’s 5 releases this year

Siddharth is is currently active in four languages (Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English). He is likely to debut in Malayalam industry in this year. Venkatesh’s Bodyguard will release with premieres in USA on 9 January and Indian release will be there on 12 Jan. Businessman is expected to garner humongous openings as it’s being released after blockbuster Dookudu and it is coming in the combination of industry hit Pokiri. Venkatesh’s Bodyguard is going to get heavy openings as Hindi version of Bodyguard became big hit which proves that the script has good commercial viability. Shooting of the movie will be completed in November and Department will hit the marquee in February 2012.

Poola Rangadu for 14 January

With 11th, 12th and 13th reserved for The Busienssman (Mahesh Babu), Adhinayakudu (Bala Krishna)/Bodyguard (Venkatesh) and Nippu (Ravi Teja) respectively, Sunil’s Poola Rangadu is slated for 14 January release. This film is directed by Veerabhadram who delivered a hit film ‘Aha Naa Pellanta’ this year. Max India banner is producing this movie in the presentation of RR Movies Venkat. Srirama Rajyam 1st half printed

The post production work of Sri Ramarajyam is almost complete. The unit has printed the first negative print of the first half yesterday. Ilayaraja Raja has completed rerecording of the film before the function held on monday. Srirama Rajyam is all set to release on 17 November.

Shooting of Nagarjuna’s different film Rajanna in the direction of Vijayendra Prasad is complete but for a song. Art director Ravinder has erected wonderful sets for this movie which has period backdrop. The character of Rajanna is modeled on a Nizam based fighter called Suddala Hanumanthu. The entire movie is being narrated from a small girl point of view. RR distributors have bought the movie. SS Rajamouli has supervised action choreography in this film of mass movement. Venky’s Bodyguard on 2 December

Bodyguard is the confirmed title for Venkatesh’s latest film which is a remake of Malayalam’s blockbuster Bodyguard. ‘He steals your heart’ is the tag-line.
