100
days function of 'A Film by Aravind' was held at Film
Nagar Cultural Club on the night of 6th November.
Dasari Narayana Rao attended this function as chief
guest. Charmme, Devi Prasad and Murali Krishnam Raju
also attended the function.
Dasari
Narayana Rao said, "I am a fan of small films.
I built my career making small films. That is the
reason why I attended this function through I was
informed about it in less than 24 hours. If Telugu
film industry produces 10 such films like AFBA, we
would feel proud about ourselves at National level.
Director Sekhar Suri should be appreciated for his
guts in making this film. The making standards are
falling down in film industry. We used to import item
girls from Mumbai in our prime time. Now villains,
heroines and character artists too are being summoned
from Mumbai. We have lots of local talent, but nobody
is using it to full extent. Rajiv Kanakala is a revelation
in this film. His father Devadas Kanakala did a wonderful
role in my film 'Gorintaku'. In our days, Telugu films
were remade in other languages. All my 18 Hindi films
were remakes of Telugu films. All LV Prasad's films
were remakes of Telugu films. Such was the glorious
past. But at present our filmmakers prefer dubbing
and remaking to straight films. This is bad sign for
Telugu film industry. I am happy to see this film
launching a variety director Sekhar Suri and a fine
actor Rajiv Kanakala into Telugu film industry."
Dasari
also distributed shields to cast and crewmembers.
Others also spoke during this occasion in brief.
