Triple platinum disc function of MS Raju’s latest film Pournami was celebrated at Rama Naidu studios. The entire cast and crewmembers of Pournami (except for Prabhudeva) attended this fete.

Writer Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said, “All of us worked very hard for this film. Prabhas gave a matured performance. This musical is a love story with undercurrent faction elements. I liked ‘Muvvala Navvakala’ and ‘Ichipuchuko’ songs in this film. Prabhudeva did justice with his direction in this dance-based film. MS Raju is the first reason behind this film’s success. I feel that MS Raju is the best producer of Telugu cinema after D Rama Naidu.”

Writer Paruchuri Gopala Krishna said, “After watching the first half of the film, I wondered if the film is made by Prabhudeva or K Viswanath. It is a difficult talk to write screenplay for films like Pournami. This film belongs to the genre of Sankarabharanam, Annamayya, Lavakusa, Muthyala Muggu etc. Though a mass hero, Krishnam Raju did class films like Amaradeepam. Likewise, Prabhas did Pournami film though he got tremendous mass image. Pournami is a poetic film. Pournami collected 7 crores in first week and going to collect 3.5 crores in second week.”

Sirivennela commended Pournami as the film made with sensible story and good music. Music director Devi Sri Prasad said that scoring music to Pournami is a challenging task and with the help of his team he could able to accomplish it.

Actress Charmme said, “I would like to thank MS Raju for giving me this opportunity. Everybody liked Chandrakala character played by me. Prabhudeva gave many inputs so that I could improve my acting style and dancing ability. I got specially trained in Bharata Natyam for this film. I was thrilled with the climax of this film.”

Trisha expressed her happiness over acting a film that is titled after her character.

Hero Prabhas said, “I acted in action films like Varsham and Chatrapati. Acting in action films is an easy task. Director Prabhudeva presented me in novel style. The filmmaker brought 1960’s environment by using appropriate sets and costumes. There is very good on-screen chemistry between me and Trisha. Charmme worked really hard. She used painkillers to do extra work for Pournami when she was injured. I think ‘Evaro Choodali’ is an exceptional song and I should thank Sirivennela for that. Devi Sri Prasad came up with extraordinary rerecording. Pournami is a different film.”

Sobhan said, “I wad mad at MS Raju for not giving me opportunity to direct this film. But after seeing Pournami film, I can confidently say that only a director of Prabhudeva caliber could do such good films.”
