I come under the category of flop director: Teja
Earlier, Teja speaking on this occasion extended Dasara greetings to the guests, cast and crew of his film. "I am thankful to Chakri for giving us excellent music within the stipulated time. It was long back that we did a function on Chitram movies banner. Though many people asked to grace the functions as the guest, I declined saying that currently I come under the category of flop directors. I told them I would come to their functions when I get the hit. There are six songs in the film. Though I too am a good cinematographer, my expertise is nothing before PC Sriram, who is the cinematographer for Kayka. In the last twenty years, the audience wouldn't have seen such a wonderful output in Telugu films. We have 38 new artistes, including the lead pair and Kolkata guys and gals. The movie has a down-to-earth subject based on youthful emotions like intrigue, cheating, backstabbing, love, hatred and such like. I thank all the guests who graced the function."
Film business units should meet regularly: Minister
Damodar Reddy said: "I have little association with the film industry, though recently I turned into an exhibitor by taking over a theatre. Previously I used to think that glamour field is all happy, but once I became an exhibitor I came to know about its difficulties. I suggest the producers, directors, exhibitors and distributors to frequently hold meetings to discuss the various problems in the film industry and to find timely solutions to them. I wish best of luck to the unit of Kayka."
Tammareddy Bharadwaja said: "I am really thrilled at the combination of Teja, Chakri and PC Sriram, who are either busy or stubborn in the professions with some inhibitions of their own. But all of them got together and worked for a film. I wish all the best to them."
All the speakers hoped that Kakya would be a super hit. Interestingly, none of the cast was present. To note here, Teja strictly maintained secrecy about the whereabouts of the cast and he chose to do so till the release of the film.
