Audio of Nagarjuna's latest film 'Mass' (Dammunte Kasko) was released in an entertaining function held at Taramati Baradari (Golkonda). Incidentally Mass audio function is the first filmy function organized at this historic venue (an amphitheater).

Let us look at the highlights of the function before going into the details -

1. Nagarjuna danced to the title song of Mass on the stage. For the first time in the history of Telugu cinema, a hero danced live on stage at the audio function celebrated in public.

2. For the first time, a filmy function was celebrated at the historical venue of Taramati - baradari (Golkonda).

3. Nagarjuna looked ultra-romantic as he enthralled the audiences with his appearance.

4. Naga Chaitanya - son of Nagarjuna - was the center of attraction. Fans kept on chanting his name through out the function. When they demanded Naga Chaitanya to join his father on the stage, Nagarjuna signaled to the fans that he would get Naga Chaitanya on stage for the next function.

5. Unlike his earlier speeches, Nagarjuna gave a mass speech for his fascinated audience. He used mass words like 'yabba' (as in 'nee yabba') etc to get the right effect.

6. When Akkineni Nageswara Rao was giving speech, fans asked Nagarjuna to speak. ANR responded in jocular way by saying that 'mundu naadi choodandi. Tarvatha nagarjunadi choodduru kaani'.

7. All three songs performed on stage (Mass mmm mmmaa Mass, Lallallahire and Valukalla Vayyari) are very good.

This function is graced by the family members of Akkineni - ANR, Nagarjuna, Sumanth, Naga Chaitanya & Akhil. The technicians who attended this function include Lawrence, Devi Sri Prasad, Paruchuri brothers, Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar and Viswa. The other celebrities who made it to the function include KS Rama Rao, D Suresh Babu, KL Narayana, S Gopal Reddy, Gemini Kiran and Puri Jagan.

Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao said that Lawrence gave a mesmerizing narration for Mass film. He also recollected that all Paruchuri brothers' films with debutant directors have become super hits. And all the musical hits in this year belong to Devi Sri Prasad.

Director Lawrence said that Mass film will have tremendous style attached to it and it is narrated in a new trend.

ANR release the audiocassette and gave the first unit to Ayyappa Reddy.

ANR said that he would call fans as 'abhimana devullu' as they adore their matinee idols with unconditional love. ANR said that he chosen to do class and soft films in his career as his body language suited him. But Nagarjuna did not follow him and developed his own style. Generally the fans of the father automatically become the fans of son. But, Nagarjuna made his own fan base by doing new trend of films. He has listened to Manmadhudu songs and felt that they were class-oriented. But the songs of Mass attract both kinds of audiences (mass and class).

Sumanth said that the month of December is a lucky month for Annapurna studios, as Manmadhudu (2002) and Satyam (2003) became super hits. Likewise, Mass (dec 23rd 2004) would also become a big hit.

Nagarjuna gave an energetic mass speech. He said that he learnt about mass from his fans. There is a terrific fight composed for the climax of Mass. Charmy did a mass role as Jyotika donned a class role. Nagarjuna termed his fans as assets (aasti) and his fans are the only assets inherited from his father.
