Platinum disc function of Surya's latest movie Ghatikudu was held at Taj Banjara on the night of 4 October. Surya, KS Ravi Kumar, Chandana Ramesh, Sanam Naga Ashok Kumar, Chandana Nageswar, Udayanidhi Stalin, Shanmukha Sastri, VV Vinayak, Kalyani, Kumar Babu and Chaitanya Raju attended this function.

KS Ravi Kumar said, "Ghatikudu film has all rasas. Lots of my movies were dubbed into Telugu and Telugu movie lovers encouraged them. Surya did the role of 10 year old boy in certain part of this movie. Nayantara did well. Veteran actress Saroja Devi acted in this film after a gap of 10 years. I wish this Ghatikudu will be encouraged here."

Surya said, "I am getting overwhelming response whenever I visit Hyderabad. I feel happy to have worked with KS Ravi Kumar. Udayanidhi Maran was a junior in my college. Ghatikudu is a family subject"

Actor Surya and producer Chandana Ramesh announced Rs. 5 lacs and Rs. 3 lacs as their contribution to the AP flood victims.
