Nagarjuna’s latest movie is titled as Kedi. Producer D Siva Prasad Reddy organized a press meet today at the swanky Novotel hotel to announce the same. This press meet is attended by Nagarjuna, D Siva Prasad Reddy, director Kiran and Ankur.

Entertaining character with lots of shades - Nagarjuna
Speaking on the occasion Nagarjuna said, “We had considered many titles like Rummy, Mayagadu, Mosagadu etc and finally zeroed on Kedi. The Rummy titled was registered by somebody else after the rumors have come out that we might title this movie. And that guy was asking for 13 lacs to give us the title. Like internet domain squatting, it has become a business in registering prospective titles for small timers to blackmail the big moviemakers. Recently a producer has bought the title Khiladi from somebody by paying 4 lacs. I am playing a new type of character in Kedi movie. We also experimented a little within the commercial parameters. The movie starts off in an entertaining fashion and ends up on a serious note. There will be not much of romance angle in the movie. I knew Kiran from the days of Yuva serial. He used to pen dialogues to Yuva TV serial. I liked the way he writes dialogues. I liked his approach. I wanted to do a different movie after King’s released and I asked Kiran to come up with a new subject. Kiran is very confident about his work and I like the directors who have lots of confidence in their abilities. He also penned very good dialogues in Kedi movie. There are variety shades to my character. I love voice of Mamata Mohandas and I became a fan of her after looking at her dedication and professionalism in King movie. That is the reason why we cast her in Kedi. Ankur of Slum Dog Millionaire is doing a prominent role. Sandeep Chowta had always given me great music for Ninne Pelladatha, Chandralekha and Super. He has also come up with nice music for Kedi.”

3 reasons to be happy about 2010 – D Siva Prasad Reddy
Producer D Siva Prasad Reddy said, “I am three reasons to be extremely happy about the year 2010. My first movie Sravana Masam was released in 1985 and it is going to be a silver jubilee year for Kamakshi banner. I became a friend of Nagarjuna in October of 1985 and that friendship flourished day by day till now. We never had any misunderstanding in our 25 years of association. I am a mass guy and I want to see Nagarjuna as a mass hero. Kedi is a kind of title that works in B and C centers as well. We are going to Greece from 3 December to shoot a song. After that we will shoot climax song in a set erected in Hyderabad. Film will be ready by 20 December. We looked out for prospective release dates and found out that the first half of January is good.”

New screenplay - Kiran
Director Kiran said, “Producer Siva Prasad Reddy is a young at heart. I was little sceptical while narrating the story first time because he belongs to old generation. But he understood the concept in the second sitting and came up with valuable inputs. It took 3-4 days to come out with the structure during scripting stage. The treatment of script took relatively more time. You will see a different Nagarjuna in this movie and he interpreted the character very well. Screenplay of Kedi is going to be new. Kedi title is apt for the story and character of Nagarjuna in the movie. Directing Nagarjuna for the first time is a huge responsibility and I am doing my best to come up with nice product.”
