Actor Ajay’s hero debut ‘Sarai Veerraju’ was announced at a press meet held at Prasad Labs on the night of 21 December. D Rama Naidu, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, Dil Raju, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Srikanth, Chalapati Rao, Gangaraju Gunnam, Krish, PRK Rao, Ajay and DS Kannan attended it.

D Rama Naidu, SS Rajamouli and VV Vinayak launched the banner Visalakshmi Creations. Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Krish and Srikanth launched the logo of the movie. Tamana Murthy Kuduru and RPK Rao launched the poster.

Speaking on the occasion SS Rajamouli said, “DS Kannan used to be an all-rounder in our group, be it music, visuals or the story. He has lots of ideas. I am impressed with his invitation idea for this function. Ajay is a promising actor and I personally like him. When I saw the poster design, it reminded me of Krishnam Raju in Manavoori Pandavulu film.”

VV Vinayak said, “I am impressed with DS Kannan. Ajay is an energetic guy.”

Tammareddy Bharadwaja said, “I introduced 12 heroes through my films. Srikanth is one among them. I promised Ajay that I wouldmake him a hero five years back. I could not do it due to my financial position. I am happy that DS Kannan is introducing him.”

Srikanth said, “I wish Ajay all the best. There are many actors who became big heroes after staring their career as villain. I hope that Ajay will also follow that path.”

DS Kannan said, “I feel that our film should talk about itself. We are going to shoot from 20 January. We will shoot the first schedule in the city and then shift for second schedule in a village. We are planning to release the film in the last week of May. I hope to create a new journey in Telugu film industry through Sarai Veerraju."

Krish said, “There is an innocent child in DS Kannan. He is extremely well-versed with Tamil literature. I got lot of info about Tamil literature from him. He has also bought lots of books on Telugu literature and whenever we go to him he used to make us read them loud so that he could learn. I am sure that Sarai Veerraju film is going to rock.”

Producer Rao said, “Sarai Veerraju is a bilingual movie in Telugu and Tamil. It will be technically well made and an entertaining film. Director Kannan is putting lots of efforts.”

Actor Ajay said, “This is the biggest day in my life. Becoming hero is never on my agenda when I came to the Telugu film industry. I learnt about acting from SS Rajamouli. Kannan has been my friend for a long time and I am feeling fortunate to act in his debut film.”
