'who's afraid of virginia woolf' by Edward Albee. is a Broadway Classic. the show will be a little over 2hr 20 minutes. with a break of 15 minutes.

Kartaal Productions that has produced ‘A streetcar named desire’ play with Bhumika Chawla in the last year are coming up with the most popular play ‘Who is afraid of Virginia woolf’. The play is produced by Seema Azharuddin and directed by Dr K Shrikanth Iyengar. It features Seema Azharuddin, Dr K Shrikanth Iyengar, Kamal Kamaraju and Sumi in the four important characters.

Edward Albee has written this play in 1962 and it has been staged several times since then. The onscreen adaptation of this movie is the only movie in the history of Hollywood to be nominated for all the 13 categories of Oscar. Edward Albee who turned 84 this year will be attending the play opening night on 22 October.

Maestro Ilayaraja is the first Asian to compose music for this Broadway classic. A team from Hungary are going to be in India on 9th of this month and they will team up with Ilayaraja to compose music for this play in four days. Ilayaraja will personally attend for the opening show on 22 October.

The preview of this classic was organized at Hotel Marriot on the night of 5 October and it was graced by all the theater connoisseurs and sponsors. Actress and producer Lakshmi Manchu opened the preview and spoke eloquently about the greatness of the classic play ‘Who is afraid of Virginia woolf’.

Producer Seema Azharuddin said that the major proceeds from the sales of our production this year will be donated to two causes namely, the AIDS / HIV impacted children in Andhra Pradesh and a program to promote reading amongst needy children, under the Mahila Mandali, Chirala, founded and run by Mrs. Lakshmi Padmavathi (Former Minister Andhra Pradesh).

The preview of the play was innovative with black and white images on the screen and live performances by the actors on the stage.
