Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Telugu cinema were kicked off in a great style at HITEX, Madapur on the night of 26 January 2007. Rameshwar Thakur (Governor of AP), Ambarish (Kannada actor and state minister for I&B) and T Subbirami Reddy were invited as guests for this function.

ANR, Krishna, Krishnam Raju, Chiranjeevi, Bala Krishna, Nagarjuna, Rajnikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Ravi Teja, Sumanth, Vishnu, Jagapati Babu, Srikanth are among Telugu heroes who participated the event today.

Legend NTR makes an appearance
Telugu cinema legend NTR visited Telugu cinema vajrostavalu in the form of animated graphics and kicked off the celebrations. Then Archana, Parvati Melton & Mythili performed dance to ‘Sakala Kala pravallika’ song composed by Keeravani for this occasion. K Raghavendra Rao supervised this song.

Jyothy Prajwalana
ANR, Chiranjeevi, Bala Krishna, Nagarjuna, Nayana Tara, Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Sumalatha participated in Jyothy Prajwalana.

Various popular Telugu film singers rendered their voice to the visuals shown in chronological order (1931 – 2006). Isha Sherwani did a fantastic performance for Mellaga Karagani song (Varsham).

Telugu film heroes defined a physical image to deities – Ambarish
Speaking on the occasion actor and minister Ambarish said, “Telugu film industry is the biggest film industry in India after Bollywood. We have never seen how the deities look like, but Telugu film heroes defined a physical appearance to deities by doing mythologicals. I am proud to be associated to Telugus as I have become Teluginti alludu by marrying Sumalatha. As a central minister for I&B I will do my level best to solve problems faced by film industry.”

We (me & NTR) inculcated discipline in Telugu cinema industry – ANR
ANR said, “I worked in films for the past 65 years. Films can influence people in either ways. I got influenced in a positive way and earned honorary doctorate though I did not study much. The film industry taught me. Me and my brother NTR inculcated discipline in Telugu film industry. I do miss the presence of brother NTR at this function.”

Better than winning Dada Saheb Falke – K VIswanath
K Viswanath said, “I don’t know how it feels to receive Dada Saheb Falke award. But it feels better than that to receive this felicitation.”

Made 130 films – D Rama Naidu
D Rama Naidu said, “I made more than 130 films in various languages of Indian cinema. I will spend all my earnings in films. My songs are serving film industry.”

3 secrets of success - Chiranjeevi
Chiranjeevi said, “I don’t know how it used to be in the past. But if somebody wants to enter films, they should have sincerity, hardworking nature and dedication. You can achieve anything here all long as you possess these qualities.”

I will be doing ‘Rangadu – Pandurangadu’ – Bala Krrishna
Bala Krishna said, “I like Seetarama Kalyanam better among all my father’s film. I will try my best to live up to the reputation of my father. I will be doing ‘Rangadu – Pandurangadu’ soon. My father NTR and babi ANR never relied on luck. They worked hard and made their way o top. I would like to thank everybody.” Bala Krishna rendered ‘Ee Pada Seva’ slokam from Panduranga Mahatyam on this occasion.

Will do a guest role in Shankar Dada Zindabad – Pawan Kalyan
When asked about his combination film with Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan said, “I wish to work with my brother. Let us see how it materializes. I might act in a song of Shankar Dada Zindabad.”

SP Bala Subramanyam compared the event in an excellent manner. The set of the venue is exceptionally good. The entire event is being conducted in a professional manner.
