Pochampally IKAT art mela 2014, a 9-days Hand Woven Eco friendly Handloom Products exhibition begins at Y.M.C.A, Narayanaguda. Tollywood Actress Geethanjali and Padmashri Awardee Gajam Anjaiah inaugurated the Mela. The Expo will be on till 30th Dec 2014.

On the occasion Actress Geethanjali said,“It’s glad to see various apparel, particularly designer Fabrics,silk and cotton sarees, to be showcased for the Fashion Connoisseurs. Platforms such as this are required to reach out women looking for well-designed hand made cotton, silk wear & exclusive home textile.

“Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition- element of Indian culture and rich artistry. By promoting handlooms, we support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisans creativity which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures”said Krishna –Ex Chairman and Lava Kumar Bharata, Director- Pochampally Handloom Park.
