AALAYAM, Temple of weaves is a weaver initiative and exclusive handloom store by Pop Singer Smita and renowned designer Shravan. It showcases authentic Indian Sarees from across the country.

Smita who has always been passionate about bringing together weavers and designers joined with Shravan and started the store 2 years ago. Since then she has made great contribution in preserving Indian culture. Shravan promoted handlooms through his remarkable designs and has acquired international fame for his work. They worked for betterment of handloom industry and to revive many Indian weaves which are becoming extinct. An Aalayam Society was started to work towards upliftment of weaver community. One of the initiatives undertaken by the society was distribution of Charkas to Khadi weavers.
