Sudheer Babu to play the role Badminton champion Pullela Gopichand in a biopic to be directed by Praveen Satharu (Chandamama Kathalu fame). Praveen Sattaru is currently doing research on Pullela Gopichand. This film will be made in English, Hindi and Telugu. Pullela Gopichand has received many prestigious awards including Padma Bhushan, Rajiv Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award and Drinacharya Award. He is currently running Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy and has mentored internationally reputed players like Saina Nehwal.

Sudheer Babu himself is a badminton professional. In his first interview on internet to idlebrain.com, Sudheer Babu said, “I am also a badminton player and was a probable for junior world cup team. I partnered Pullela Gopichand and was trained under Prakash Padukone (father of Deepika Padukone).” More details later!
