Having gone on to floors in the second half of March, Nani-starrer Dasara has been shot for 25 days so far. A political drama set in the backdrop of Singareni Coal Mines in Godavarikhani with Nani playing a rustic villager and speaking the Telangana dialect synonymous with Singareni, the film marks the directorial debut of Srikanth Odela. “We’ve shot an action sequence recently under the supervision of stunt masters duo Anbariv who are getting a single card for the film. The schedule was over three days ago. We even shot in Godavarikhani for a week. We are gearing up to start the next schedule from Friday. Nani’s childhood portions will be shot in this leg, which will go on for eight-nine days at a specially designed set in Nizampet, Hyderabad. He isn’t required during this period,” film’s producer Sudhakar Cherukuri said speaking to idlebrain.

The Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas chief added that the shoot will gain momentum after Nani’s Ante Sundariniki opens in cinemas next month (10th June). “We are looking to wrap up the entire shooting part by July-end or mid-August. We might visit Indore or Pune for a schedule. We are looking at a Dasara release for the film,” he pointed out and added that leading lady Keerthy Suresh has joined the sets as well, and shot for a dance number and some scenes.

Noted names like Sai Kumar, Zarina Wahab, Samuthirakani, Tom Chacko (Malayalam), Deekshith Shetty (Kannada) are playing supporting roles in the film, a Santosh Narayan musical. Sathyan Sooryan is the cameraman, while Navin Nooli is the editor.
