‘I believed in myself!’: Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh’s meteoric rise to superstardom is actually a phenomenal story of self-belief. In just 8 years the hugely talented actor has delivered cult hits and has stamped his presence as one of the best actors of India.

Ranveer’s best work that has catapulted him to huge acclaim are Band Baaja Baarat, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, Gully Boy, among others and has the biggest line up of movies in 2020. From Kabir Khan’s 83 to Yash Raj Films’ Jayeshbhai Jordaar to Karan Johar’s Takht, the actor is at the peak of his game today. He, however, cherishes the time when he was an outsider in Bollywood struggling to get his first break as an actor.

“Those years have given me some of the fondest memories of my life. Things are flying at the moment, but I will always remember the time when there was none of it; when I used to be staring at the bottom of the barrel not knowing whether that phone is ever going to ring, or if I will ever get a break. Those were very difficult times. Through the harsh lessons, disappointments, humiliation, rejection, one has to find something within him that keeps him going,” says Ranveer.

He adds, “For me, they were two things. One, I was passionate about acting, and wasn’t pursuing it for money or fame. Two, self-belief; I had to keep telling myself, ‘You’re good, you have to believe so because if you’re good and persistent, something will happen.’ I believed in myself every single day and I continue doing so even now. Today, I value every opportunity.”

ఒక మంచి నటుడిగా తన సామర్ధ్యాన్ని నిరూపించుకొని సూపర్ స్టార్ గా ఎదిగిన రణ్వీర్ సింగ్ యొక్క కథ చాలా మందికి ఆదర్శవంతమైనది. ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరాల్లోనే వరుస హిట్ల తో చెలరేగుతూ, దేశమంతటా ప్రభంజనం సృష్టిస్తున్న ఏకైక నటుడిగా పేరొందాడు రణ్వీర్ సింగ్. బ్యాండ్ బాజా బారాత్, రామ్ లీలా, బాజీరావు మస్తానీ, పద్మావత్, గల్లీ బాయ్ లాంటి అపురూపమైన చిత్రాలలో గుర్తుండిపోయే పాత్రలు పోషించి, రణ్వీర్ సింగ్ జనాల్లో తన స్థానాన్ని సుస్థిరం చేసుకున్నాడు. ఇది కాకుండా, 2020 లో పలు ప్రతిష్టాత్మకమైన చిత్రాల్లో ఈ యువ నటుడు కనపడనున్నాడు. కబీర్ ఖాన్ దర్శకత్వం వహిస్తున్న 83 , యాష్ రాజ్ ఫిలిమ్స్ చే నిర్మితవుతున్న జయేష్ భాయ్ జోర్దార్, కరణ్ జోహార్ స్వీయంగా నిర్మిస్తూ దర్శకత్వ బాధ్యతలు చేపడుతున్న తఖ్త్ లాంటి భారీ బడ్జెట్ చిత్రాలలో నటిస్తూ ప్రేక్షకులకు ఇంకా చేరువయ్యే ప్రయత్నం లో ఉన్నాడు. కానీ బాలీవుడ్ లో నటించే అవకాశాలు లేక పని కోసం పరితపించే రోజుల్ని నెమరువేసుకోవడమే తన పెదవులపై ఒక చిరునవ్వుని చిగురించేలా చేస్తోందని చెప్పుకొస్తున్నాడు రణ్వీర్ సింగ్.

"నాకు జీవిత పాఠాలు నేర్పిన రోజులు అవే. ఇప్పుడేదో నా వైపు గాలి వీస్తోంది కానీ, ఒకానొక కాలం లో ఈ కీర్తి ప్రతిష్టలు నాకుండేవి కావు . ఆత్మ స్థైర్యం కోల్పోయి నాకు ఎప్పటికన్నా ఒక వేషం దొరకతుందా అని తపించిన రోజులవి. చాలా కష్టాలు అనుభవించే ఈ స్థాయికి రాగలిగాను. ఎన్నో అనుభవాలు, అవమానాలు, అపజయాలు దాటుకుంటూ, నన్ను నేను వెతుక్కుంటూ, సినీ పరిశ్రమలో ఒక స్థానాన్ని సంపాదించుకోగలిగాను," అని పేర్కొన్నాడు రణ్వీర్.

తన జీవిత సూత్రాల గురించి వివరిస్తూ, రణ్వీర్ ఇలా అన్నాడు. "నేను రెండు విషయాలు ఎప్పటికీ గుర్తుపెట్టుకున్నాను. నాకు నటన పై పిచ్చి ఉండి ఈ పరిశ్రమకు వచ్చాను గాని, ఎదో పేరు ప్రఖ్యాతలు, డబ్బులు సంపాదించాలనే ధ్యేయంతో మాత్రం రాలేదు. నా సామర్ధ్యం పై నాకున్న నమ్మకాన్ని నేను ఎప్పుడు కోల్పోలేదు. నేను ఎంచుకున్న దారి లో పయనిస్తూ నాకు వచ్చిన అవకాశాలని సద్వినియోగం చేసుకుంటూ ముందుకొచ్చాను. ఈ విషయంలో నేను ఇప్పటికీ మారలేదు."
