The teaser of the upcoming romance drama Jaanu has finally been released and it sure tugs at the heart strings, leaving you asking for more.

The one-minute long teaser gives us a glimpse of Samantha and Sharwanand taking on the roles of Janaki aka Janu and Ramachandra aka Ram with quite ease. For anyone who has seen the original, this definitely comes across as a faithful remake, and from the looks of it, the director has taken great care to keep the emotions intact.

Comparisons with the original are inevitable and keeping that in mind, it seems the director chose to give a different teaser as was released for 96. What’s more, the film has been shot at completely different locations including Kenya for the lead character who’s a photographer.

The Tamil film 96 was quite the talk of the town when it hit the screens in 2018. So much so, that it made a decent mark at award shows alongside the box office success it already garnered. Already remade in Kannada, titled 99 and starring Ganesh and Bhavana in the lead, the film was an average farer at the box office.

However, the chances that this film will work are high considering director Prem Kumar who helmed the original has directed this film as well. In fact, composer Govind Vasanth has also been roped in to score the tunes of the film after the successful show in the original.
