In a matter of honour, one of the leading actress of South Indian cinema, Kajal Aggarwal has been honoured with a place in the prestigious Madame Tussauds wax museum. Representatives of the organisation recently visited the actress to take measurements to build her wax figure.

"I remember going to @madametussauds as a child and being so fascinated with all the figures that I’ve always admired and been in love with.. overwhelmed to be amongst them myself! ❤🙏🏻(sic)," she posted about the same.

This is a very interesting honour and she is the first south Indian actress (after Sridevi who is predominantly considered a Bollywood actress) to have got this honour.

Even though South Indian cinema has made quite the mark over the last decade, it's recognition internationally is still a matter of rarity. One such space is the internationally talked about Madame Tussauds wax museum.

While several Bollywood celebrities from the biggest to the smallest have had their space there, South Indian cinema's recognition is still a long way to go.

Only two other renowned names from down south have made it to the museum earlier - Prabhas in their Bangkok branch and Mahesh Babu in their Singapore branch. The latter's statue was even displayed briefly in Hyderabad for people to see.
