After kicking off the production with a massive action block in Siricilla earlier this February, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s next with Gopichand Malineni has almost reached halfway stage shooting-wise. Speaking exclusively to idlebrain, Malineni says the film is presently progressing in Maheshwaram, where they will shoot for two more days. “We’ve wrapped up 40 percent of the shoot so far, shooting in Siricilla, Hyderabad surroundings and Film City. We are planning to shoot a song from May 16th,” the director, whose last film was the super hit Krack, states, keeping it short. Sekhar master’s name is attached to choreograph the number.

Describing the Mythri Movie Makers production, co-starring Shruti Haasan, as a commercial action drama with a lot of emotions and a touch of humour, he reveals that it is set in faction backdrop. Balayya is no stranger to faction territory as his past faction backdrop films like Samarasimha Reddy and Narasimha Naidu have broken box-office records left, right and centre, setting new benchmarks for revenue. “This film focuses on the solid rivalry between the hero and the villain (played by Duniya Vijay),” Malineni points out, adding that the experience of directing Balayya has been superb and he is enjoying it. “For someone like me who is his fan, I’m making a lot of memories directing him every day. He is a director’s actor and he gives tremendous respect to a director. He has been mind-blowing in emotional scenes. And there is no one who reels out powerful dialogues like him. The film will have all the elements that one expects of his cinema.”

Balayya is once again playing dual roles in the film, but Malineni is giving zilch on it, smilingly saying one has to watch the film for that.

With reputed names like Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Duniya Vijay, Lal, Murali Sharma and Easwari Rao in supporting roles, Malineni informs that the film, a Thaman musical, will be wrapped up in another 60-65 days. “We have a 20-day outing in the US. The schedule, however, hasn’t been chalked out yet,” the director concludes.
