The much-awaited release of director SS Rajamouli's RRR has been postponed. In a grand press conference in 2019, the the team had announced the release date as July 30. But it looks like things didn't work as planned and the film is now set to release on January 8, 2021.

While there was buzz that the film will be pushed to October, for the Dussehra season, a confirmation came in today from the film's official handle.

While sharing that they want to give the audience the best, they posted: "Your love and support have made all our hard work and hectic schedules worthwhile! We are working round the clock to give you a cinematic experience like never before. And with a huge worldwide release planned, we have had to postpone the date of release. (sic)"

Further, they acknowledged the disappointment the news would cause but promised it will be worthwhile. "We understand this is a disappointment, but there's going to be a lot to look forward to because this only gives us more time to bring the best to you. (sic)"
The final tweet confirmed the release on January 8, 2021. "#RRR will hit the screens on January 8th, 2021! We know the wait is long but we promise to keep giving you updates in the meanwhile. #RRROnJan8th (sic)."

Soon, the reactions were mixed. While many said "it's okay because the best output is important", others weren't "surprised because this was expected of the director". But let's hope this release is going to happen on time with no further delays. There still is a year to wait but if the wait is worthwhile, then why not!
