Saaho has cashed in the unprecedented craze created by the record-shattering Baahubali 2. Made as and projected as pan-India film, Saaho sports mostly Hindi cast except for Prabhas, Vennela Kishore, Supreet and Murali Sharma. The advance bookings were humongous.

It has grossed over 100 crores in India (all versions combined) with Telugu contribution being more than 55%. Hindi version has collected over 24.4 crores. This is the 3rd biggest opening grosser in Bollywood after Bharat and Mission Mangal. It’s a great number in Hindi as Hindi version is preferred only in North India as South Indian state’s have regional versions. Bharat and Mission Mangal films were released on holidays whereas Saaho was released on a working Friday.

In Telugu, Saaho has collected a share of 41.9 crores. Hiking of tickets rates also helped in achieving such a huge number. This is the 2nd biggest opening film in Telugu after Baahubali 2. Incidentally, Prabhas acted the top 2 opening films in Telugu. Baahubali 2’s credit mostly went to Rajamouli. Saaho did’s have any notable name except Prabhas. It was Prabhas’s stamina that resulted in great openings.

In the USA, the film has collected over $930k during premieres and over half a million on Friday.

Saaho has a unique advantage of having long weekends in both India (Ganesh Chaturthi holiday) and USA (Labor Day holiday). This box office madness is expected to continue till Monday.
