The anticipation surrounding Prabhas-starrer has been high ever since it was first announced in December of 2020. With two of the biggest names of Indian cinema—Prabhas and Prashanth Neel—joining forces for the first meant that every bit of information is eagerly awaited. With Prashanth free of KGF: Chapter 2 duties, he has now shifted attention to Salaar, which, according to Hombale Films Executive Producer Karthik Gowda is “25-30 percent complete so far”. “Our new schedule will start in a couple of days in Hyderabad. It will go on for 20 days. After a small break, we will resume another schedule in Hyderabad,” Karthik said speaking to idlebrain exclusively.

He added that the majority of the film, a contemporary action-drama, will be wrapped up in and around Hyderabad. “We’ve shot in Singareni (in the coal mines near Godavarikhani) and we will be shooting a bit more there once again. We will be shooting in Andhra as well. The entire shoot part—most probably—will be wrapped up by the end of the year. We haven’t finalized the release date yet,” Karthik stated.

Karthik said the team at Hombale has loved collaborating with Prabhas so far. “He is a real darling to work with. I must have had his home food at least 10-12 times until now. Every visit to Hyderabad was incomplete without a visit to his house. He has become like a family to us. The bond is like that between both of us. Every time he comes to know we are in Hyderabad, he makes sure that he hosts us for dinner on one of the days. Even when he was in Bangalore on some work for a day, we ensured that we hosted him for dinner. It’s been like a family,” the executive producer informed.

Co-starring Shruti Haasan, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu, the film also features Easwari Rao, Achyuth Kumar, Madhu Guruswamy and Ramana in supporting roles. KGF composer Ravi Basrur is on board to render tunes.
