While it has become common knowledge that the theatre performance of films in general has gone down, it sure has created quite the concern now that it has come from the horse's mouth.

Leading producer of Telugu cinema, Suresh Babu spoke in an interview with a YouTube channel and expressed his concern about the way films are faring.

While speaking about the need to change the release date of his upcoming production Venky Mama, he said that he has been extremely concerned about the general slack in the performance of films and that this year has been worse.

Calling it an "all time low", Suresh Babu shared that the theatres stay empty for a major chunk and that it has become tough to pay basics like electricity bills and salaries of employees of the theatres.

Suresh Babu reveals that this is not the case in just A centres but across the grades. Citing the reasons like OTT platform emergence and economy being poor amongst other things.

He even gave an insight that the audience is preferring watching spectacle films like Sye Raa or Sahoo in theatres and that he is keen to see how this will transpire in the future.
